Ask The Wolf and the Throne: The Vanguards

[Tysjor Maspat]

His men seemed to have pulled themselves together, and it was about time. The group of Pykes systematically made their way through the mess hall, stunning anyone who came close. Soon, nearly all the passengers were immobilized, and when Tysjor fired a stun bolt on the last one, he turned to his men.

“Restrain them, and put them in a group against or near the back wall. I don’t want anyone leaving this room,” he said. When his men voiced their acknowledgement, Tysjor went to work, taking out the rope he’d brought with him. Each of his men had one too, and it would be enough to tie all the prisoners together. If one tried to escape, they would have to take the entire group with him… and there was no way that would go unnoticed.

When the door to the mess hall opened, Tysjor immediately stopped and raised his blasters in the direction. However, he relaxed when he saw that it was Slick, and gave him a nod of greeting.

“You got here just in time. We have some prisoners to round up… and there’ll be more coming soon.” With that, Tysjor handed him a rope and got back to work. Soon the Pykes would see a new era of glory and success under Rafe, and whoever would stand in the way, whether it be these passengers, the Vanguards, or any other being who dared, Tysjor would be happy to take care of.

This time… it was more than business.

[Grace Zann]

Grace would gasp as she saw the thermal detonator roll by, and into the next hallway. She had no time to react to the attack, and as expected a powerful explosion would rock the ship. Xol had compromised the mission, and let his personal feeling get in the way. Had someone special to her been here, then perhaps she too could have gotten emotional...

"Wha? Sure he hit a couple of our guys but... That wasn't part of the mission." The woman would walk down the now cleared hallway. After a stunt like that, what remained of the pykes were cowering in fear... Rather than respect. This wan't was Rafe wanted, and the woman knew it.

Of course, there was little else she could have done. She hadn't killed anyone at least, and followed the wolf's orders as best she could. Thankfully, their crew would quickly secure the Vanguards. Taking a moment to compose herself, she would announce to all around her, "You all heard him... Take them all to the mess hall."

[Mae Tecono]

Mae rolled her eyes as she watched the video of Slick and Xol. Rafe's orders had been simple, maybe difficult among killers but simple with anyone with any self control at all. She already did not like Xol, but to see Slick pull this shite was a complete surprise to her. She continued to follow Rafe as he took on the last challenge. He would let him do his thing alone, but she would be there to support him one way or the other after he was finished.

Slick made his way back to their ship as soon as he saw the clip of him killing the Pyke. He saw Rafe's teeth as he was upset, and knew he would most likely end up as a snack if he did not let the wolf calm down a bit first.

[Xol Zaa Fenn]

Was this some sort of joke? Xol could not believe that Rafe, a Crime Lord in the Pyke Syndicate, didn't understand how a Crime Lord was supposed to work. If he watched the video footage where Xol killed the Vanguard with the rotary repeater, then he should've been able to see that there was no way anyone was getting past it with stun bolts.

If either Grace or Xol peeked that corner, they would've wounded up like the rest of the dead men she had brought with her. In fact, she didn't seem to care at all that the men she led into battle had passed, yet the Vanguards that killed them were alive. It made Xol sick to think that this was the future of the Syndicates.

<No...No, I did what was necessary. None of you know how to run a Syndicate and none of you are fit to.> Xol said after Rafe pushed passed him. <Who do any of you think you are? Sector Rangers? Even they wouldn't have left any of this skin-suits alive if they weren't willing to comply. If Pykes don't kill Pykes...> Xol gestured to the dead Pyke Scoundrels that had their lives taken by Pyke Vanguards, <Then how do you explain this?>

Xol was bitter, if it wasn't obvious already. <You thought no one was going to die? You care more for the enemy then you do your own brothers and sisters! Your family comes first! Always! If you can't handle that philosophy, then you don't deserve to call yourself apart of the Syndicate. You'd be just as bad as Zaa Fenn and the White Lion, who cared more about glory than keeping his family safe.> And with that, Xol turned to leave. None of them would've lasted an hour with the Zaa Fenn Crime Family.

[Julius Arvo]

Jules headed to the Docking bay his own Enforcers taking control of the engineering deck. His scoundrels leading the conscious and carrying the unconscious. Upon arrival he felt the waves of rage rolling off Rafe. It only took a few moments to find out the cause.

Moving so that he was between the two his demeanor was such that both of them knew that he would with out a doubt have to beat him first. Neither one were remotely stupid and realized that that would leave them crippled trying to then face the other. Both would realize that their discussion was best saved for another day.

Then acting as if nothing had happened Jules waited for the arrival of Carr Pyke.
