Greetings, exalted ones.

Most of us are aware, I would assume, of superstition, omens, and the like. Some actually believe in these sorts of things, whether it be that they will have horrendous luck with the lottery due to a black loth-cat running in front of them, or that wearing those lucky boxers of yours that you haven't washed since high school will guarantee your Hutt-ball team an undefeated season. I, myself, used to believe in a few superstitions. When my Beloved and I played friendly games of Sabacc, using cookies instead of credits, I always wore my lucky watch thinking that with it on my wrist, no one could best me.

Alas, every game I ever played with my Beloved ended with a bust on my side and a mountain of treats on hers. After a while, I thought that maybe my watch brought the opposite of luck and eventually sold it. But, with every passing game of Sabacc we played prior to the loss of my watch, my Beloved's taste for cookies slowly dwindled away until she could no longer look at one without gagging. To this day, I am a terrible at Sabacc and it has nothing to do with watches or cookies or credits. It's about skill.

Recently, the Hutt Cartel has been pretty audible about their disdain for the majority of the Syndicates. Whether it be their enormous god complex or the slight paranoia, these xenophobic slugs have been playing things safe ever since the catastrophe that was the Zaa Fenn Crime Family. With Grace Zann getting caught dabbling with the Kuat Drive Yards, I wouldn't have been surprised if they had reprimanded the aspiring Crime Lord. But no! Instead, there are rumors of an upset with the Black Sun.

Interestingly enough, the Black Sun had been driven out from their own home on Ord Mantell by none other than Mordeth the Hutt herself. And it's no surprise that the Hutts would now be disappointed in Black Sun's lack of activity after disposing them of one of their only footholds in the galaxy. The last time one of those oversized worms wanted something, they took it.

So what does this mean for the rest of us scoundrels? Well, the Syndicates lost Kessel to the ISC, who now have declared peace with one another, the Syndicates never throw away the chance for a power grab, hence the Zann Consortium's brand new New Republic starships, and the Hutts are always looking to potentially bring an entire Syndicate under new management, which we've seen with Crymorah. Let's just say...things aren't going to be as quiet as they used to be anymore. So, those of you who brave the outer rim, lock your doors and shut your windows at night. I haven't seen any four leafed clovers yet, but I'd say that fortune favors the guy-who-can-afford-to-pay-everyone-else-to-lose-for-him. Or, for a more simple translation: Nor'baal Desilijic.

In the end, this game is all about who's bluffing the best. Sure, many think the Empire have the greatest hand, but every Empire ever has fallen to some well placed explosives by us 'scum-bags' and 'lowlifes'. Again, most of this is just speculation, but I think the future of the Syndicates is about as bright as Tatooine on High Noon. Unless you're apart of Black Sun. Or Crymorah. Hell, the Hutts are notorious for screwing over their employees! But if you hang around the right people, take out the right people, and stay away from the bad people, you might just make it in this crazy-ass galaxy of ours.

But anyway, that's the way I heard it.

Shortly after Xol finished his little tabloid under his alias, a ping grabbed his attention. The Tognath was excited to see who had commented on his first entry only to find a meager bounty had been placed on his had. Unsurprisingly, it was ordered by none other than the Great Norbs, himself. Nonetheless, Xol was still filled with great vigor due to the fact that his article had grabbed the leader of the Hutt Cartal!

<Only five thousand? I feel insulted...> Xol then made it a personal goal of his to increase that bounty to something more honorable for a man of the Tognath's expertise. He had sent an entire bank sky high after robbing it clean! Xol could literally pay off whoever was after him over this. <Maybe I'll write some more...>
