What are you packin' [Blaster poll]

Out of curiosity I am wondering out of all the Player Characters that are written on this site, how many of them prefer one type of blaster over the other.

Light, medium, or heavy blasters?

To keep things simple, this is taken with general consistencies for blasters kept in mind. There are some exceptional submissions but most light, medium and heavy blasters share the same traits and characteristics with one another.

I’d like to think light blasters are easier to be more accurate and land (consecutive) hits with less recoil. But I haven’t used them very much until recently with small characters that “have” to use weaker weapons.

i don't think there is a situation that's come in the roleplay where a light blaster is preferred/would have done better over a medium. In theory Light blasters might be easier to sneak in places, but people managed to get by with medium anyway or it's never come up.

I agree that light are the worst and least efficent.

Light blasters are for people that really want to appear unarmed, that use them as a last resort or just for those that actually use slugthrowers, like the monster hunting faction.

I only make use of the Boonta Blaster, a weapon of refinement, elegance and class - and also a medium blaster.

I prefer 'compact' blasters.

I have been surprised to see that some medium blasters are more compact than some light blasters.

I think sometimes the 'styling' of light blasters makes them have longer barrels or frames than they need, perhaps to appeal to a civilian aesthetic.

I do like the light blaster used by bike troopers, though. Since they have a primary weapon on the bikes which is a pretty hefty laser weapon, it makes sense for them to have that light blaster tucked into a boot.

A light blaster the size of a PPK or Makarov would be about right for a 'secret agent' type character. I haven't seen one, but that doesn't mean they don't exist.

Light Blasters are really irrelevant tbf. The only way I'd actually utilize them is if the slugthrower variety wasn't able to be blocked by Lightsabers *cough cough cough*.
