I still haven't found a way to get over social anxiety rather than just pretending real hard you don't care/getting your self-esteem to the basement and deal with the fact/making yourself believe that you're terrible in many levels, but coming to accept it as that, thus don't wanting to pretend anything else and just come as you are and don't care about anyone elses opinion since you have to deal with your own criticism and its nothing new. So they deal with it.

Wouldn't recommend any of those

I deal with it by barely leaving my place, although that's mostly because I don't care to leave. I'm very happy to be home everyday all day if possible.

It's not even social anxiety really...it's basically wandering anxiety mixed in with my asperger's.

As for taking anxiety drugs, it's not an option for me. It might make me worse then better due to my asperger's.

Ask yourself..

Is this really going to matter in two years?

Talk your ass off and have fun.

I just stomach it, try to better, focus on the good things and move on. It's life.

Talk your ass off and have fun.

Preach!

I started evaluating myself; decided I was unhappy so I set out changing that. Started goin to the gym, going out to events, meeting new people, caring about my appearance, etc. And now my social anxiety is, compared to before, next to none existent.

I actually did pretty much the same thing. I think going to the gym has been of the best aspects.

Single greatest thing I've ever done. Was just there yesterday and hit my 325 pound squat, should be at 365 by the end of September.

I throw my hat in with you two. I run and do some basic ab exercises and push ups, started checking my eating habits now, and trying stay as social as possible.

I cannot tell you what taking the iniative on hanging out with friends and even relatives does for you. Get together, go walk around the mall with your bros or take your girlfriend out to go have fun with no plans in mind.

Sitting at home seeps the life out me.

Boo abdominal exercises. Good for routine assists but too isolated otherwise, IMO. I get the same burn from my compounds, but instead of the 2 muscle groups I work with ab work I work about 200.

You use your Uni's gym, Johnny? Should look in to power lifting. It's so addictive.

I just started sledgehammer workouts, it's incredibly addicting.
