"Two souls." There were two people up there, not just one, and it wouldn't be long before more joined them.
"Morning." Llolith continued to make her way over to Altair's left, every eye but the two behind her sunglasses closed to alleviate the brightness from the rising sun. She rested her forearm against the railing of the balcony and peered over to look at the horizon, spectating the dazzling reds and oranges of the sunrise. Then Altair made his comment, and she twisted her neck around to face him. All seven of her closed eyes blinked open - yellow almonds of various shapes - and looked over at him curiously.
"My eyes?" For a moment, Llolith tried to discern whether he was being rude, humorous, or genuine. She was complimented on her eyes from time to time, but sometimes they were more backhanded than genuine. Thankfully, his cheerful voice and the wide grin he spoke with certainly didn't seem ill-intended. Just bold. So, after a moment, she responded in kind with a wide, toothy grin of her own. "I like your eyes too, Altair. Violet suits you."
And it wasn't just a compliment for a compliment either. Purples and blues were exceptionally vibrant to Llolith, and from what she could see over his sunglasses, his were violently violet. "What a cool eye color to have," she thought to herself.
Altair's friend seemed to find the comment funny. Perhaps it was the boldness or the out-of-the-blue-ness of it. "I'm Llolith," she offered as a third joined them - Vahliri. She would wave back as she approached. "I was under the deck most of the time," she would then explain. "The sun was too bright for me."
"Maybe it won't be so bad today though," she added after a moment. With her back now resting against the railing, her eyes faced the thick fog they were headed into. "It's pretty foggy up ahead."
In fact, it was so foggy that even Llolith couldn't really see into the mists. "Do you think it's safe to sail into that?"
