Why the surprise? The arrival of a new acolyte always causes gossip to appear in the Academy. Even more when it’s a good looking one.” he smiled at Roman, before sipping some more of his drink. “But don't get used to it. A new one will soon arrive and the attention will turn to them. This fame is very short lived.”

Caerllion stared at Roman after the sequence of questions, wondering why the Acolyte was so surprised with it. The Annfyn had seen Masters and Acolytes dancing together in other social events that he already thought about it being something normal. “I don’t see anything strange here. They are old enough and what they do together only becomes a problem when it starts to harm the Order. Besides, they are only dancing together.for now, he added mentally. The way that the two moved made it pretty obvious that they wanted to do something else.

The Annfyn wondered what Roman meant when talking about the previous six months, but soon considered that the Acolyte probably had trained as an initiate for some time. It was common to happen. “This is good. You’ll learn more with time, with your Master helping you with it.

A large smile appeared on his lips with the Acolyte's question, memories of his time on the rank returning. “Your time as an acolyte is when you begin to understand what path you want to follow, besides being the moment that you should make alliances with others and to have some fun. Being a Champion is good too, but you have more responsibilities. The other ranks you went buried in work, becoming difficult to participate in these events. So, enjoy your time as an acolyte while it lasts.

Roman's condition for the dance made Caerllion smirk “I hope that it isn’t because you think that I'm so ugly that you need to be drunk while dancing with me.” he said, before turning to the bartender. “You heard the guy. Give two glasses of your strongest liquor.” the man nodded, before preparing the drinks. When he returned, the Annfyn was already holding an empty glass. The Annfyn passed the liquor to the Acolyte, before starting to drink it.

Kyssiara downed a shot as she looked around, starting to make a mental list of the Sith gathered at the party. There was a dancing lizard, several other Purebloods - royal ones; she'd have to avoid them - a pair of pointy-eared guys, a Kaleesh, a Twi'lek; a lot of red skin, if she was being honest. That made it a bit harder to stand out, but the acolyte was sure she could find a way. That said, it appeared she was rapidly falling behind in opportunities to mingle with others after arriving late.

She spotted another girl that seemed to be her age farther down the bar, sipping on a drink and sporting a stylish tuxedo (@Hastur). Probably just another acolyte, but having any connections at this point in her early career as a Sith was as important as showing off to a champion. Kyssiara ordered a new cocktail and approached the girl, faintly hearing someone calling some kind of invitation to toast in the background (@Akheron) but she recognized the accent of her species and decided to ignore it. Instead, the Pureblood sat down next to the tuxedo-clad girl, flashing her best smile as she took a sip of her drink.

"Hello there! I hope you don't mind me dropping by here, I thought I'd say hi cause you was sitting here all alone! The name's Kyssiara, I'm a new acolyte. What's yours?" the acolyte asked with a playful wink.

Nefid had never been to Zeltros, and as such wasn’t aware of the use and role of pheromones in gatherings such as this one. She noticed their effect on the mind, however, basking in the crowd’s altered, unbridled feelings. Intriguing in such a visceral way.

So naturally it wasn’t long before the sprinklers neutralized them, and Nefid’s interest, in one fell swoop. So much for the flaming emotions brought to the surface. Like dousing a campfire, leaving only acrid smoke. The crowd’s passion abruptly waning, Nefid searched for something else to hold her attention. The stocky ball of muscle and pent-up rage (@Sreeya) was promising, but in the end something else won out.

The Twi’lek had never been a dutiful Sith exactly, more of a free spirit concerned with her own independent ventures and pushing her understanding of her unique powers. But she was around for the decisive moments. She’d seen Serene before. And she didn’t trust her intent now.

When Juin asked his questions, two visions would come to his mind. Serene collecting another acolyte’s broken teeth on Umbara, as Nefid remembered it. And Serene with the broken Nevizkas on Thule, after the duel.

Nefid didn’t speak to him; nothing accompanied the sights. In truth, she was apathetic to whatever plans the sorceress had in store for the green acolyte. But she wondered what he’d make of it.

Arak was not expecting Beskar Buns to reply the way she did but it did make him think. Could he pick her up without the force? Probably not, but then again isn’t that what the force is for to be used when he needed?

He was drawn away from his internal musings by the dawning cat fight, as the other acos call it, between Freyja and BB (Beskar Buns) over pretty boy Keldir or whatever his name was. But to his surprise BB remained rather calm and didn’t do anything really violent.

Freyja returned and they went out to the dance floor. I’m the backup plan huh? That honestly sucks. As she asked her question he began looking around sort of spaced out. He only understood that she was asking about dancing, “Not like this.” He was more accustomed to lower dancing not the bump and grinding around him.

As he heard a hiss he looked up and watched the mist could come out of the sprinklers and slowly dissipate. That was when realization struck and he froze stiff. I’m going to die. Did I really say that to her? This is not good. Wait if the whatever was causing the feeling stuff to go way is gone, maybe Freyja will abandon me for the dude Beskar Buns is dancing with. All I have to do is sneak out before she remembers and I’ll be fine.

But he was drawn back to reality by a familiar voice. It was Freyjas voice, she was still with him. As he looked at her and realized she was still here he had a bewildered look on his face. He was sure she would’ve been fighting over Kaldir. Her not abandoning him there a wrench in his brilliant escape an ass beating plan. But if he was really going to be killed be Beskar Buns running would not help him any, she would just do it next time they met. So he might as well enjoy it while he can.

She was dancing and he couldn’t help the smile that formed on his face. “It’s ok.” He looked around and began trying to mimic the other people’s dance moves. While he wasn’t awful at it he definitely wasn’t doing good either. He was just starting to loosen up now, enjoying not having to dance a certain way like at the balls he was forced to attend back home.

feifi was sitting in her safety bubble, enjoying her cocktail and the scents of food in the air at the bar, when another one of those red folk (@René) had showed up, it took a second for feifi to process that she was indeed talking to her!

"who, me?"

She listened intently to the pureblood as she introduced herself, a new acolyte?.. huh.. and she didn't know who she was, if she did know, she probably would have looked down on her, it gave the girl a mixture of relief and sadness, knowing how things like this go.. Feifi was well aware she was only alive because the dark lord had not seen fit to use her as a lesson to her father.. yet a small part of feifi wished that she did, to spare her the agony of seeing the death that still haunted her every dream, yet maybe it was for the best.. her father had both outlived his power and his usefulness to tempest, though she did take some morbid pride that it required the dark lord themself to truly tear her father apart, just to put him down, to do what no one else could.. like applying a flamethrower to a cockroach to ensure that it was dead.. when the pureblood stopped speaking, feifi nodded.

"Oh, my name is feifi candorus." she gave a brief salute. "Su cuy'gar."

"Thanks." Serene happily accepted the compliment with a smile. The more the two danced the closer they came. The woman licked her lips with the tip of her tongue as her eyes dropped towards Juin's mouth. She could not help but grin at seeing the snaggle tooth jutting from his mouth slightly.

The sorceress was glad to hear he was an adult at the very least and giggled at his question, taking it as a joke. "Hardly." Her voice spoke over the volume of the music but still refrained from yelling especially now that they were so close. "You had a few ladies around you. Did you come with friends?" Serene wanted to know if he had a girlfriend, boyfriend or maybe Juin was in one of the open relationships that was going on with some of the other Sith. It was sometimes difficult to keep organized.

The more they danced the more seductive Serene's hands and body became. She moved her palm down from Juin's lower back and continued south, enticing the acolyte to get them some privacy. "We could talk somewhere quiet if you want." She gave him the option since she was perfectly happy continuing to dance. Though she did not expect them to only chat when they had some privacy. The athletic build of the half-mirialan was fun to dance with and he seemed to have a level of common sense and class that eluded many of his peers.

Karys gave an amused chuckle as he watch Vel attempt to spear the cherries from his cup. He flicked the pointer finger of his extended hand up and the cherries would float from the glass and into the air. They were ready for Vel to pluck without struggling. That would likely be enough to draw the attention of his potential dance partner. Karys would smirk at Vel’s chirp of surprise at his offer. Even Karys had to admit, the Barabel’s reactions were a little cute.

Karys had looked away for a moment to address the toast in his name, that was when Vel grabbed his hand. Karys wouldn’t even have time to throw his drink back in the toast, his partner would catch him off guard and drag him towards the dance floor. Karys’ head tilted back, a genuine smile tugged at bud lips, and he laughed at the eagerness of Vel.

There was no gentleness as the pair moved through crowd, Vel shouldered his way through with a behemoth in tow. When they arrived next to the speaker and Vel finally turned to face Karys, he’d see a grin smeared onto his face. Karys read Vel’s lips as the Barabel asked him what now and so Karys did his best to teach.

You follow my lead and I’ll teach you!” Karys shouted, trying to ensure his voice could be heard above the music.

They would start off with a simple two step, Karys giving his partner time to find the rhythm and beat before steadily adding to their dance. Eventually, Karys would have Vel learning how to dance to club music. With Karys grinning and laughing the entire time.

Nash tapped their shot glasses together before throwing hers back. Her face changed when he guessed she was close to graduating. She coughed and sputtered for a moment before slapping a smile back on her face, “Of course!” Nash said. Even without being Raze’s apprentice and being exceptionally good at picking up on these things, her voice that was a bit too high pitched betrayed she was full of shit. Nash had just barely arrived at the academy and wasn’t even assigned a master yet. Nowhere close to graduating.

“I’m totally prepared for field duty, yeah,” She said, nodding confidently, “I’m just.. You know, a non-traditional student. I use my fists more than my saber,” Because I haven’t even constructed a saber yet. Nash was saying random bullshit to keep this guy’s attention without seeming too desperate. Where were the pheromones when she needed an excuse to act stupid?

Nash smiled at him, fiddling idly with one of her lekku, “So where will you take me?” She really was terrible at this whole acting girly thing. Was she batting her eyes too much? Fuck. Pumping iron at a gym sounded like a much more pleasant medium to have this conversation.

Kaldar had to actually make a concerted effort not to laugh at the obvious lie that she was nearing graduation, but Kaldar could appreciate a good rebel. He hadn't been a conventional student as an acolyte and he certainly wasn't one as a Champion either.

I was a non-traditional student, too, he said, he commented, though probably a very different way than she meant.

He was, of course, not sure if this flirting was just to get the attention of someone higher up the food chain, but to be honest, he couldn't blame her if it was. This was the Sith, and the Sith will do anything to survive and advance. It was a potential "symbiotic" relationship not entirely unlike Kaldar's relationship with Raze. It was classic Sith.

Still, he opted to go along with the flirting, because kriff, why wouldn't he want to flirt with her?

Well, so many options. Manaan's nice this time of year, he said, thoughtfully. No master who's going to be pissed that I'm taking you away from your studies? he asked. Just as well if not.

Sounds like a date, then, he said with a smirk, grabbing another pair of shots and raising one to tap against her glass.

Alright, less date and more business outing, but we'll call it good enough, he said with a laugh.

Vossari was put onto the back foot, literally, when Anai took command of the dance. He liked a challenge more than anything - and this certainly was challenging. He was used to dancing solo, leading, being completely in charge of his own moments. Being spun around by another, having to look for her cues to move instead of issuing them himself was a change. He thought of his relationship with Karys, his would-be commander. He thought of Azar.

"Oh, so you were the problem acolyte back in the day, huh?" Vossari loved picking fights, but he feared the role of Sith Fuck-Up was being quickly eclipsed by certain champions, and the new class of acolytes seemed prone to chaos and instability. He quite liked it, but where did that leave him? "I won't lie, Anai, everyone gives me this advice. 'Keep a low profile.' 'Don't cause too much trouble.' 'Pick your battles.'" He was caught off guard, momentarily, when she swept him around and around into a graceful fall, which she followed by pulling him up.

"That's just...not me. I'm never gonna back down, just because I'm afraid I'll lose. That's not the path to power. That's the long road to mediocrity." His eyes burned with realization as he said that. It was the affirmation he needed to hear, from himself. He knew his own path was the right one for him. He wouldn't argue the merits of being a little more...tactical, but he fundamentally refused to compromise his words, beliefs, or actions for anyone. All he had to manage were the consequences of his choices. And he could live with those.

"I'd be happy to join you in any field of your choosing, though." She was pleasant, a breath of fresh air from many of the others. the last Sith party he had attended ended with him getting punched in the face. Maybe this night would end on a better note?

The basses were pounding and the iridescent neon lights dancing around the room. While the atmosphere had changed, on the dancefloor, it was still lighthearted, until she noticed Arak seemed rather distracted. A whole swirl of emotions seemed wash over him before he was seemingly back in the present, smiling and trying his best to dance.

In his defense, it was his clubbing experience, she knew that much, but he seemed way to focus on not really letting lose, even though she knew he was fairly capable of that as well.

"Hey...don't think too much of how you're moving and what the others are doing", she didn't miss how he kept looking around and tried to adapt accordingly, so she reached up and cupped his cheek to ensure his gaze was on her again. Meeting his gaze, a smirk spread across her lips before she guided his hands onto her hips before she spun.

With her back facing him, she closed the distance between them for a moment, grinding against him as she knew that would surely get his mind off all this thinking before she turned to face him again. He was already slightly loosing up, yet she wanted to speed up this progress a little. "Allow yourself to have some fun", she added with a wink.

Roman nearly spat his drink out when Caerllion called him good looking. The guy was forward as hell.

I used to be an Imperial squire” he said cautiously, stepping aside a little to put a little more distance between them. “I’m used to a lot of rules. You wouldn’t have seen a Knight and a Squire getting it on like that”. Discipline and deference had been a big part of the Empire. Maybe too big a part.

Caerllion was clearly Champion level himself from the way he spoke, though he was a poor advert for it, making it sound like Roman should enjoy his time as an acolyte while it lasted. The older Sith sounded a bit buried in his work, whatever it entailed.

Roman accepted the hard liquor, starting to put it to his lips. Then he processed what the guy had said. Ugly? “No” he replied awkwardly. There he was again with the flirting. It was flirting no? Roman had been half open to hooking up tonight, but he had expected to pounce when he was ready, and probably on another newbie. This Caerllion was too big a fish and coming at him way too fast.

You all look great in here” he said, tilting his head to include everyone in the room. Roman found himself pausing trying to study the glass of liquid in his hand on the sly. He had been warned about the Sith for years and Caerllion could be more dangerous than he realised. He was quick to supply the drinks, was his generosity actually a plan to spike Roman?

Alliances sounds very wise though” he said, draining the glass in one. “I should probably try and chat to a few of these other guys before I go lose myself in these tunes” he suggested. He might be being overly cautious, but he had so little to work with. “Shall we go hang with those guys you mentioned?”.

Roman started drifting towards the Twi’lek acolyte and the youthful Master, hoping Caerllion would at least come with to introduce him. The pair were now at the bar just a little further down.

You guys doing shots?” he asked, keen to meet some comparators. “You look like a shot kind of girl” he smiled at Nash, before turning to the apparent master Kaldar. He just didn’t believe it. “My friend here tells me you‘re a sensible master, but you look way too mischievous”.

"Nice to meet you!" The salute the girl, Feifi, gave her was a bit strange, and Kyssiara didn't recognize the language of her greeting. Then again, the galaxy was a big place that she'd hardly explored yet, and she wasn't getting any negative vibes from the girl so there was no point in lingering on it. The Pureblood took another long sip of her drink, appreciating the warmth of the alcohol as it trailed down her throat. There it was, that loose freeing feeling that came with drinks. This was a party, and she was going to enjoy herself!

"So, are you an acolyte too?" Kyssiara asked Feifi, waiting for the girl to respond before launching into an excited line of questioning.
"I love your tux, you look stunning! Where'd you get it? I spent most of what I had on this little dress here, there's not much for fashion where I'm from on Ziost. Do you have a master yet? I'm hoping to maybe draw someone's attention tonight, there's only so much we can learn from classes at the academy."

The Pureblood allowed herself brief moment to take a breath, the alcohol certainly spurring her positive mood. She finished off her drink while allowing Feifi some time to respond to the acolyte's litany of questions. Maybe this would be her first real connection with another acolyte! The academy wasn't exactly the best place for socializing after all. Kyssiara placed her glass down on the counter with satisfaction, drinking in the lights, the ambient noise, and the first beats of a new song beginning to play.

Without hesitation, Kyssiara grabbed Feifi's hand and stood up, excitedly running towards the dance floor with the Mandalorian in tow.
"C'mon Feifi, this song's a banger! What better time to join in on the dancing?" Unless the other acolyte pulled her hand away the Pureblood would keep in clasped in her own as she began banging her head and twirling in time with the guitar riffs. She came close to a few other dancers, but each time Kyssiara had just enough grace to slide by and avoid a collision.

Trodai was rather enjoying himself, for a tall muscular lizard, the Barabel danced rather well. But as the song changed, he found he needed a drink and so spoke "Your not a bad dancer. Perhaps we can continue this later, I need a drink." With that Trodai headed back for the bar at least for now, it would be up to the lizard man to decide if he went too.

As he approached he saw a group by the human, Kaldar he recalled as Karys had told him. And when he heard the word shots and mischievous he couldn't help but join them. Sounded like his sort of crowd. Walking over he saw a unknown human with what looked like some impressive neck tattoos. And some bright blue eyes. It looked like there were a few here who could put Trael to shame. Or so he thought, he wondered what Azar saw in him. Guy was a fool if rumours were to be believed about his antics.

"I don't know. Your looking a little mischievous yourself." he teased, giving Caerllion a nod as he said it "Did I hear someone say shots." He smiled before ordering the lot of them shots of Flameout, the most potent alcohol in the galaxy. If they were drinking shots, he was making sure they were proper shots.

"To friends new and old. Bottoms up." he said before taking his down. Feeling the taste of the liquor as the sensations similat to a scalding of the tongue and a freezing of the throat occurred as was common of the drink. The spice inside it would also add to the effect. Not that he or anyone would know. Troda i was starting to feel more jovial regardless.

Arak was unfamiliar with clubbing in every aspect. He was stiff while dancing making it look even worse than it normally would. Even with waking a fool of himself, dancing freely was an enjoyable experience. He just needed to do it without trying to fit in.

He didn’t know that he seemed to be to focused on dancing right until Freyja tried to offer him words of encouragement. Don’t think? How is he supposed to not think? He did turn all of his focus on her when she cupped his cheek and directed his attention towards her. He couldn’t help but notice that familiar smirk as she began directing his hands to her waist.

She spun around closing the distance and began to grind on him. His gaze followed her back down to her hips his grip around her waist tightened as he pulled her in a bit before she spun back around. He was lucky the horny space magic was gone, or else he wouldn’t have been able to control himself.

When she told him to try having fun he simply smirked and wrapped his arms around her pulling her in close as he gazed down. “I am. Just not used to this dancing.” He knew he was playing with fire, and that’s exactly why he did it. She may try to stay in control but he wasn’t one to fully relinquish it ever.

The rather close and intimate discussion was delicately plied by both Sith, each dancing their own tune when something strange occured. Images flashed in Juin's mind courtesy of the nameless puppeteer lurking in the shadows, a horrific medley of morbid curiosity and danger.

"Uh.." He stumbled for a moment, his eyes caught on her grin after he was released from the freaky hold of his mind. "Oh yeah, I came with them." He dipped his head back towards the others as he felt her interesting movements. The most natural of all conflicts raged a battle far greater than any Sith-ISC war would ever hope to muster, as his survival instinct duelled his other, uh, survival instinct.

"I'm not su.." He paused mid-sentence, a decisive victory was at hand at her hand. "Okay, where to?" He agreed suddenly. "But I have got to warn you, Green Eggs and Ham isn't all it's cracked up to be." His voice almost cracked, in a feeble attempt to dissuade her from doing the same to him as they tried to find somewhere more private.

With any luck, maybe she was vegan? As he had grown quite fond of all his appendages.

Veltharion moved with a grace that seemed strange on such a bulky frame, matching Karys step for step and adding flourishes with his tail, the senuous limb curling and twisting tightly around himself and then spreading out to encompass the hulking Pureblood in its movements, creating space from the other dancers while silver chains and bells caught the light and chimed with every flick. The music seemed to get louder, the beat changing into something lower and more forceful and Vel's mind was called back to the rhythmic pounding of his clans war drums echoing in the tunnels.

His eyes closed and he spun toward Karys, tail trailing behind him like a shining ribbon as his back brushed the Purebloods chest and then shifted, his body flowing in a tigh orbit around Karys; sweeping low and then rising, tail snapping back around with a soft crack of displaced air as the dancing steps he was being taught were folded into the war dance of the Bleeding Hollow Clan. It should have looked out of place but with the flashing lights reflecting on his painted scales and jewelry the Barabels movements were almost mesmerizing.

Blinking as the song ended Vel found himself grinning up at the Pureblood, the energetic dance leaving him slightly breathless. "This one apologizez, this one has always struggled with getting lost in music. This one'z hatchmatez used to say that if the enemy clanz had played drumz during battle they'd lead this one around by the snout."

This was a club with many distractions, many sources of stimulation and vice. So Serene did not think too much about a momentary hesitation from her dance partner. The loud noises, the movement of the numerous bodies on the dance floor. It all kept her from noticing the subtle warnings Juin's "friend" gave him, not that it was would change anything.

Serene's eyes looked away from her handsome dance partner and looked at the woman whom Juin had spoken with. She debated how to proceed. The Deucalian youth was dancing with a pureblood so she seemed occupied, both of them. The casually dressed champion moved on to the next group of Juin's friends. The woman saw Anai and Karys dancing with one another, mostly focused on one another too. Then there was the strong twi'lek whom was chatting with the man Serene knew as Virious. Juin's lady friends all seemed occupied. Pity She might have invited one of them to join but they all were busy.

Juin's voice brought her attention honing back in on the green man before her with a smile. "Follow me." She whispered her answer into his ear, letting her breath tickle the skin and entice his nerves. She would grab one of his hands and lead him away from the dance floor. He would hear a playful chuckle at his joke even if Serene did not fully understand it. She could tell he was nervous and wanted him at ease.

Serene led the acolyte to the back of the club past the private tables and booths. In the rear were isolated chambers for reservations or VIPs. The clamour of voice became a dull and distant roar. The music tone shifted and the outside noise dampened to a dull thrumming.

Once they were alone, without using the Force or any special effort she grabbed Juin close and kissed him. Her hand tightened around his bright outfit and risked ripping them if he pulled away but she let go after a moment. Just as quickly as she had grabbed him, in the next Serene shoved him back and possibly off balance wheren he would fall back into she safe seat behind him. After the fall Serene wasted no time and would get on top of him, straddling him while looking deep into his eyes before kissing him again.

"Uh, ye-"

she barely got finished before she went on the tangent, blitzing poor feifi!

WH- WHAT!? feifi was used to not being complemented at all, she was used to conducting thankless tasks, with her saber blade slicing flesh being the only gratification she would get, besides the rare affirmation from her master when she successfully pulled a maneuver properly.. no, she would not allow her to see how flustered that made her..

"Oh, the dress?.. I sewed it together, it was one of the things my father taught me - y-yeah I do, master jakarta- wha?-"

you could say it was a mixture of the suddenness and the alcohol, but feifi went along with it, might as well! feifi was quite the dancer, even slowed like this, keeping pace, while kyssaria was taller than her, feifi managed to keep pace, refusing to be outdone.

Anai listened carefully as Vossari replied back, giving an answer that Anai did expect, one that was not her style, yet she could respect "I see, then..." The Kaleesh paused herself for a moment before pulling him up and slowing the rhythm so they could have an easier conversation "Make sure you strike fast, strike hard, and most importantly, strike first" the Kaleesh eyes wandered off to Karys, his master, for a moment "Much like Karys did" She would add. Back on Thule, he had seen Vossari being struck and he didn't waver, didn't hesitate, he decided the best way to maintain his reputation was by fighting and so he gave her little time to prepare, it seemed like the apprentice was not that different from the master.

"I do believe you have a suitable master if that's the path you are willing to take" Her eyes looked back at Voss "Just...don't take that philosophy to suicidal extremes" Anai would give Vossari a smile, joking...for the most part "Enough sith have died after making moves such as bad mouthing a Hutt inside their own home" She would add, referring to the most famous example there was about this. She had fought under the leadership of Darth Draugr many times in the past, he had been a sith of great strength, yet nowadays he was nothing but a cautionary tale about the fact that there's always a bigger fish.

"Very well, I'll make sure to make good use of you, Vossari, but I'll need to understand what kind of sith you are first" The Kaleesh wondered about that, how he acted on a mission and how to best use him. She did know, however, that she and Karys had different approaches to many things, so Anai would make sure to teach him how to handle things her way, should he need it.

Slowing the rhythm as the current song finished, Anai released her grip on Voss "But for now, how about a drink?" They had been dancing for a good while now. While she enjoyed it, she did not come all the way here to take only a single shot, and Vossari deserved a good rest after what she had put him through.
