A delay. Whatever it was it must have been important. It wasn't his place to ask questions. Questioning was boring and the party was supposed to be fun. So he chose to ignore and pull her in as she accepted his extended hand for their dance to continue once again.

"I do believe the problems out here were handled fairly well. Might have some spare time to dance for the lady."

His face making a casual jokingly smile. He figured adding humor to his repertoire would be exactly what he needed to get along with everyone around him. With Tiamat he was comfortable enough to attempt humor and see how went. As for the dancing on the other hand, he would feel her wrap an arm around his waste and place a hand in his. As Draugr prepared to dance she began to take the lead. Interesting but he would allow it. He had taken dancing lessons from Senin for a while now and he was able to finally put it all to use.

"How have you been?"

Draugr would move to the rhythm and follow Tia's lead. His eyes remained on as his thumb would gently rub against her hand and his other arm being placed at her lower back and subtly pull her slightly closer. The curve to his lips not leaving, but growing a slight bit more. Keeping the seal of the lips however.

Malou watched as Aadya tossed the ball into the cup, scoring it with ease. "Oo, nice shot." She twirled her own ping pong ball around her fingers, then after assessing the distance, sent it flying in an arc over to the solo cups. It splashed down down the left side, sending droplets of beer over onto the folded table.

A grin spread over her lips, and she tilted her head toward Aadya to ask, "So we get to go again, right?" Her fingers twirled around and brought the balls back over to them, and she positioned herself to toss the ping pong ball again. It flew out of her fingers at an awkward angle and ended up bouncing off the rim of a middle cup and falling off to the side. Malou's grin faltered to a frown as she stepped back.

"Hmm," she hummed, disappointed. Malou could feel her body swaying side to side, which was a weird experience while she could simultaneously see herself standing still. If Aadya managed to make the ball in, she would flash the other champion a winning grin.

Vahliri kept her eyes on Altair the entire time, that bit of concern never leaving her expression - even as she moved to take a seat next to Ashla. Just like the Togruta, the half-Sephi was committed to helping Altair through whatever he was going through - to simply have his back, because that was all she could do.

Because this wasn’t just some problem she could fix. There was no clever solution or plan she could whip up. All the half-Sephi could do was try to be there for Altair - no matter how bumpy the road ahead of him got. Because, deep down, Vahliri knew that both of them would do the same thing for her.

She shifted a bit in her seat, watching the Tiefling for a moment more. It was abundantly clear he was lost in his own thoughts, and the half-Sephi finally opened her mouth to speak - to offer some kind of words that might help the situation.

Before the words could escape from her lips, however, Altair proceeded to spring from his seat and dart past all of them - cutting a warpath through the crowd. She heard him call out for Cairo, confirming the sole concern on his mind as he vanished out of sight. Vahliri’s own eyes scanned the venue, unable to pick out the Morellian amongst the ebb and flow of people. There was a distinct part of the half-Sephi to simply be angry with the Morellian - to brush aside the concern of where he went, based purely upon the knowledge that he had gotten another member of their group hooked on Wildfire.

Vahliri would’ve been lying to herself. She did feel that pang of concern for the Morellian - no matter the fact she was upset - and perhaps if she was a bit more sober - thinking a bit more clearly - that concern would’ve been enough to drive her to the exit and to look for him like Altair.

But in that moment, Vahliri couldn’t help but watch as the Tiefling once again left her behind yet again - from her perspective as if she hadn’t been standing there at all. She couldn’t help but think back to their dance only a few minutes prior, and the way that Altair had dashed off just when they began to push boundaries, or how he’d followed Cairo to the bathroom before that when Vahliri cut in for a dance. It was always the same. The same hot and cold - no matter what she did.

And as much as she despised it, Vahliri couldn’t help but think back to Aadya’s cruel words - despite the way she had nonchalantly brushed them off in person.

But hey, at least at the funeral Altair might pay attention to you for longer than ten seconds.

The half-Sephi couldn’t help but stare out in the direction where Altair left, her fluted ears flicking ever-so-slightly as she did so. Despite the blank look that was left on her face, the half-Sephi’s mind and emotions were a mess - undeniable feelings of frustration and her own self-consciousness raging within. A few moments passed, and the half-Sephi continued to simply stare before finally shifting off of her seat.

Without much forethought, Vahliri suddenly turned and stepped towards Ashla - reaching out to hook her arm around the Togruta’s own. “Excuse us,” She muttered towards Trace, before proceeding to drag Ashla off to the other side of the room. The half-Sephi wasn’t entirely sure if the Togruta was still mad at her from before, or if she too would want to make a mad dash to go find Cairo - but that didn’t really stop her. Ashla was the closest person to her right then, physically and emotionally, and that meant the Togruta was getting pulled aside.

Vahliri proceeded to drag Ashla to the other side of the venue - spotting table and two stools tucked back against one of the walls, and made a beeline in that direction. As she marched ahead, the half-Sephi looked into the crowd - spotting a familiar Pantoran lingered at the edge of the room - a pair of full glasses on a table beside her. Without a word, the half-Sephi reached out with the Force - swiping the pair of glasses and continuing right along - doing it right underneath the Pantoran’s nose.

As soon as she arrived at the table and stools, Vahliri plopped down in her seat - urging Ashla to do the same before sliding the glass across the table. The half-Sephi proceeded to lift the glass to her lips, taking a long drink before pulling it towards her lap. She was already feeling a healthy buzz, but the thought of downing another few to numb everything felt like the best course of action.

The half-Sephi looked up from her lap, fixating her honeyed gaze onto Ashla. “Why is he always like this?!” She began, the doubts and clear irritation bleeding right into her expression. “Every time I try to get close to him, this always fucking happens. I think he’s interested - he acts like he’s interested - and then he just pulls away. Wanders off to do who-the-hell-knows-what or can’t keep his eyes off someone else.” She couldn’t help but think back to Aadya, or that Pantoran girl from the bus - that bit of self-consciousness rising up in her chest.

The half-Sephi lifted the glass once again, proceeding to down the rest of what was there. “I don’t even know why I am trying..” She muttered under her breath, though it was loud enough for the Togruta to hear.

Ailis didn't think much of it as she doubted her decision to enter the beer pong game. Was she even good at beer pong? She couldn't remember a time that she had played it sober. Her options were to suck, and get drunk enough to sleep the crude crash off, or pop another pill and rock this game. The choice was obvious before the dude from earlier walked up asking for more and throwing credits at her. Catching it, she pulled a pill out of her pocket and held it out to drop it in his hand. "Good luck." She winked at him before turning back to the game. Why did she always say that? It definitely wasn't the 'walking into traffic' potential of the drug, nope, no it wasn't.

She never liked to think about that possibility.

A second pill popped into her mouth to be downed with the cup of beer she was supposed to drink. She really hoped it would kick in quick and she could smoke these girls. Sol arrived right around then and indicated he would play which received an excited smile from Ailis as she signed. <Come on! We already started and you gotta drink> She finished by pointing at the cup that the ball had landed in.

Turning her attention to the game, she grabbed a ball nervously, eyes glancing back and forth between her opponents. See through dress girl seemed so familiar and her name was on the tip of her tongue but she coudn't quite grasp it. "I'm Ailis, what's you're names?" She shouted above the pounding bass of the music before taking her shot, which bounced off the rim of the cup she was aiming for. "Fuck." She muttered and waited for things to kick off.

There were many things that made no sense to Ashla, love, love was definitely one of them. The love she knew, the love she understood, it was a crazy messed up thing. She had been ready to take on both Vahl and Aadya because of her concern for Altair, she had almost killed someone because she didn't like the way they spoke to Malou. What she felt for any of them wasn't love, but it was about as close as she could get. So when Vahl started talking about her situation with Altair, Ashla had no idea what to say. What she was feeling, what she wanted Altair to feel, it was alien to the Togruta. So what could she say to her? What could she say that might not mess things up further? But she couldn't not say anything, could she?

"Sometimes," she finally spoke up, after such a long pause that Vahl might have begun questioning if Ashla was even interested in what she was saying, "all we can do is try. And sometimes things don't work out the way we want them to." She picked up the glass Vahl had slid across to her, eyes locked on the amber liquid within. "All this pain, all this suffering, is it worth it? You're a Sith, pain is supposed to strengthen you, yet I see it overpower you. I might never understand the way you feel about Altair, it's an entirely alien concept to me. But I see what it does to you, how it makes you act, how it made you act today. How far would you have gone if I hadn't stepped in? How far would things have gone before either of you came to your senses?" She let her words linger, because she herself didn't know, and that scared her. Terrified her. "And if that's what love does to you, what it turns you into, then I think I'm better off without it. And," she finally looked up, and looked Vahl in the eyes, a sad tenderness to her expression that was about as rare as the moment of pure darkness that had gripped her on G'wenee, "maybe so are you."

She couldn't look Vahl in the eye for long, and looked away to return her attention to her drink, and proceeded to down it in one go. Still holding the glass in her hand, she let the ice dance around inside, a small smile appearing on her face as she continued.

"So you have to ask yourself, is it worth it?" She gently lowered the glass to the table, and traced her fingers across its rim. "Is he worth it?"

Anai stared at the drinks put in front of her, first at the Bantha Blast, then the Correlian ale, not taking a long time before deciding to grab the ale and take a sip from it "Mhm, certainly better" The Kaleesh acolyte replied with a smile. Granted, she had drunk a fair share of potent but nasty drinks in her lifetime, so it didn't bother her as much, that being said, it was certainly an improvement, and so she grabbed her drink to keep it close, not even bothering to take another look at that foul bantha blast.

When Ashla came to the rescue, Anai felt a little nervous at first, thoughts about that time she seriously hurt a Zabrak boy in retaliation coming to her mind as she did. Thankfully the Togruta lady wasn't trying to escalate the situation, but rather the opposite. Letting a sigh of relief as Ashla grabbed Altair to take proper care of him.

"I definitely have, are you sure all parties are not like this?"
Anai genuinely asked in response to the shit hitting the part comment, her previous party experience being about as insane as this one, maybe even worse, so far the cops didn't come and she didn't need to jump off a moving bus in this one...Yet. "...Maybe it's a sith thing."

Anai looked at Altair after Ashla sat him down somewhere, worry being something apparent on her face as she did. He had saved her butt back at the other party, just like Malou, she was deeply grateful to him because of that, and although she wanted to help now to pay him back, she wasn't confident she could. Two of his friends were already taking care of him anyways, and the Kaleesh girl honestly doubted he even remembered his name, so she ended turning her head towards Alexios, nodding in response to the beer pong invitation "Sure, I didn't get to play last time..." And so, with a not so unfamiliar sensation of powerlessness, she walked towards the beer pong group, waving both at the familiar faces and not so familiar ones.

He spoke of handling the problems that were happening while she was away dealing with Lord Veles, which seemed clearly less invasive and detrimental given she couldn't tell much of a difference from since she left. Probably some teen drama she assumed given the emotionally charged atmosphere. She pondered for a moment if she was that bad, the little voice in her head ringing with a clear yes, but worse and internally she grimaced. However, as she moved to the music's rhythm, she turned attention back to Draugr who clearly was enjoying himself.

Did he want the honest how she has been or the one you make up on the fly to keep conversation superficial. She tilted her head slightly, "I feel quite ready for another weekend at a Spa." she said seeing him continue to smile, uncertain if she ever seen the Sith Lord smile in his good mood for this long.

"I am eager though to return to my work, I don't mind the battlefield, but my passions lie in what can strengthen command." she explained, stepping back to allow herself to turn under his arm and stepping in with her back to him, his arm now wrapped around her waist. His other hand free to go where he was more comfortable. She remained quiet, taking in the motions, savoring the peace she could allow herself to feel. Her decision, her power, the pieces would eventually click for her.

"I would rather want to leave the conquering to the Lords like you." she hummed.

"Ahh a spa weekend. Sounds relaxing especially after what Senin had told me about them. We should go soon. I think we've earned it."

His smile turned into a face of joy as he laughed about it. Of course he's earned it, everything he's done for the Sith with nonstop work, he deserved a day or two to relax. If he had company such as Tiamat the weekend would be the most relaxing he could imagine so far. And then she mentioned work. It was bound to happen it was after all the thing they all had in common here. Draugr much rather preferred to battle the enemy than give commands or stay behind the frontlines. There was more glory to be had when facing death in the eyes.

"I will gladly take the lead on the frontlines. After all it is what I do best."

As the man spoke he could feel her turn her body around. His arm now holding her from around the waist and his other being placed on the outside of her arm and gently sliding down to the back of her hand as his fingers would intertwine with hers. The arm around the waist pulling her closer and his body moving in rhythm with hers. The Zabrak hadn't had a connection with many people but there was an unspoken and unnoticed connection being made with Tiamat as they were becoming slightly more tolerable between each other.

The Lord in this moment hadn't felt the need to talk, all that was necessary was to focus on dancing with the red haired woman he's holding against him. Her sandalwood scent still filling his nostrils along with other smells around but what could you expect in a room full of sweaty dancers. The arm around her waist gently moved to her hip and he could fill the sway of her body. As his hearts began to pump just slightly faster. This was a new feeling.

Sol had casually walked back up to the beer pong tables on Ailis', putting his glass down by the edge away from all the plastic cups of bitter-smelling beer. From his angle, he'd totally missed Ailis' second pill of the evening, instead only getting the sense she was excited to see him back again. He grinned back at her and settled on their side of things, a wry expression forming as she volunteered him for drinking.

With a shrug he picked the ball out and got to downing it, grimacing afterward at the bitter taste. Beer wasn't his favorite, generally speaking, but he was buzzed enough to barely taste it. Green eyes narrowed at the other side's cups. Ailis had missed hers. Throwing knives and plastic balls couldn't be that different, right?

Sol cautiously flicked a hand forward to toss his shot, which bounced off the rim of one cup on Malou's side before plopping into another on Aadya's. He grinned, elbowed Ailis, and offered a low five. The silent acolyte didn't play a lot of beer pong, but he was a little competitive. Just a little, though. Honest.

Showily flicking some of his curly hair with lazily combing fingers he gestured to the other side, pretty sure it was their turn now. All in good fun.

Anai and some new guy had also shown up and Sol offered them a casual wave. Anai even got a super chill finger gun.

For several long seconds, Vahliri kept her eyes tilted down - fixating her honeyed gaze onto the empty glass nursed in her lap. She couldn’t help the way that her mind raced nor the flurry of emotions that raged within her, and for a moment she couldn’t even tell if Ashla was remotely interested in what she was saying. And so as she sat there, a part of the half-Sephi simply wanted to trade that empty glass for a new one.

To throw them back, one by one, until she numb and could forget how she was feeling at that moment.

It wasn’t until Ashla began to speak that Vahliri finally glanced up from her lap, turning her attention back to the Togruta. She listened as her friend spoke, swallowing a lump in her throat she didn’t realize was there while pondering the Champion’s words. “I just wish I knew what he wanted, Ash..” She said after a long moment. Was he even interested? She couldn’t help but think back to that first day on Indupar and that dance on the rooftop, the moment she had spelt out how she felt back on the bus, or even tonight.

And how it always seemed to end the same way.

And as she sat there, Vahliri couldn’t help but ask that question of herself. What did she even want from him? A part of her wanted to believe it was the same thing as Aadya and that Pantoran - wanted to believe that would leave her satisfied, but the half-Sephi knew herself better than that.

She knew that her feelings ran deeper - that she wanted something more meaningful - and anything else, regardless of her desires for him, would just leave her with that sensation of longing.

It would leave her feeling exactly how she felt right now.

Vahliri continued to listen as Ashla spoke, not missing the sad tenderness that was painted across the Togruta’s expression, before taking a moment to consider the question that Ashla posed to her. All of the emotions she felt - the jealousy, the anger, the sensations of self-doubt and suffering - all of them things that overpowered her, rather than being in control of. All of the things that made her weak as a Sith.

Was Altair worth it?

“I..” She started, though the words almost seemed to catch in her throat. For all the frustration she felt, the half-Sephi couldn’t help but think of everything else. Of all the ways the Tiefling made her smile whenever he was near, and her ears to swivel with every compliment. Of all the ways she wanted to call him hers, and how she thought that would make her happy.

Was that worth it? Or was Ashla right - and she would simply be better off without it?

Vahliri finally placed the glass back down on the table. She brought a hand up to her forehead, idly rubbing her temples. The half-Sephi could feel the heavy buzz in her system, manifesting in the warmth in her face and how difficult it was to focus.

“I don’t know..” The half-Sephi admitted quietly, unable to look Ashla in the eye at that moment - a somber look plastered across her expression. Because that wasn’t a question she had the answer to - not at that moment. Maybe not anytime soon.

The half-Sephi exhaled through her nostrils, finally looking back up at the Togruta. “What should I do?”

Aadya was quite content with how things at the party had calmed down. It had been a long time since she had played a game with just some of her friends. She laughed a bit as Sol's ball banged off one cup and landed in another. Looking at him, she gave Sol a smh face and picked up the cup, downing its contents without much effort.

Lucky ass, She said to Sol, taking one of the balls and aiming up her shot again. Aadya flicked her wrist deftly, but the ball soared just a smidge too far and went over all of the cups completely.

Ah fuck, She said, laughing.

Turning to Malou, Aadya gave her a playful wink and nudged her in the arm just slightly. Apparently you're gonna have to carry us Malou babe, She said with a faux-worried shrug.

Looking to Ailis, Aadya asked Any smokes left? I'll pay you back, I swear!

Ashla was glad that Vahl seemed to be thinking on the matter, and didn't simply brush the question off. She had seen way too many holodramas where the female lead just ignored all the obvious signs and was just a fool about things. Thankfully Vahl wasn't like one of those girls named Valerie or Consuela who would have likely attacked Ashla for asking a question like that.

"Talk to him," she replied to her question, "stop beating about the bush and just ask him. And then you'll know. If you don't then you'll just be imagining things your head, things that might not be real. And then," she paused, unsure of whether or not to finish that thought, but ultimately deciding to because it was the truth and Vahl deserved the truth, "and then you won't feel betrayed if he doesn't compare to whatever fantasy you might build it up to be." In that moment it struck her, maybe the reason she never felt anything like what Vahl was feeling was because deep down she knew that if she was alone, then no one could betray her.

"Just, just think on it." Maybe it was all the alcohol, or just the rather odd topic of the conversation, unlike anything she had had before, but she couldn't really keep it up. And so she suddenly sprang to her feet. "Err..Let's, let's go get some drinks. It'll help clear your head. Yeah, improve your mood." With that she grabbed Vahl's hand and began leading her back towards the party, before her own face betrayed anything.
