When Maura didn’t respond and Drow grabbed her arm as she reached out for the glass, Quin knew that something was very wrong here. There was a darkness coming from Maura that was unlike anything he’d felt before, not to mention the atmosphere of the room seemed to grow worse by the minute too. He wanted to leave, to get back to the main group, but something made him feel like he had to stay.

Instead, he would move to stand in front of Maura, blocking her view of the vat. It was clear that there was something in there that was bothering her, though he couldn’t see or even guess at what it was.

“Hey, Maura?” He spoke gently but urgently as he attempted to meet her gaze. If she looked back at him, he would go on. “Could you tell us what you saw? It looked like you were watching something in there. But it’s… it’s empty.” He frowned a bit at that. “Was it different for you?”

Relieved to hear Taz say he heard nothing either, but concerned by whatever was happening to Veer and the dark energies he felt pulsing from the notes that Veer's eyes seemed glued to. As Taz started speaking, trying to engage Veer and distract him from whatever was happneing to him, Wax started moving towards the soldier.

His blade in his hand, once close enough he raised his hand and pointed it straight at the notes, and flicked the blade on. If everything went as planned, his intent was for the blade to come to life through the notes and set them on fire. But at the same time he would keep an eye on Veer, making sure that the soldier stayed away from harm and ready to immediately switch the blade off if it seemed like he was at risk of injuring Veer with it.

Maura was pulled away from the vat by Drow, and Quin stepped in between her and the thing. Her hands jumped to cover her ears, and she still couldn't pull her eyes away from the vat as it splintered into cracked class. Her skin was cool to the touch and her eyes were shocked wide; they couldn't see what she was seeing, but clearly, it was something startling enough to shake her.

"It- it's screaming and banging against the glass," she answered quietly, her hands still cupping her ears to try and drown out the sound of its screaming. "It feels hopeless. It's-" The girl pressed her hands more firmly against her ears and began to shake her head.

"You can't see it?" Maybe it wasn't real. Maybe it was tricking her. The girl closed her eyes and dug her fingers into her mane of rainbow hair. "It's- it reminds me of the Kyber crystal, but it's worse." Instinctively, the padawan took a step backward, perhaps now able to find the strength now that Quin was blocking her view of the creature.

Remember. Remember. Desperately, Maura ran through her memories of her training with her master, and of her experience with the corrupted crystal. Was this any similar? Did she just have to endure? Was this even real, or just an echo in the Force?

The girl took another step back. Could they feel it? The anticipation in the room? "I don't know what's going on," she whimpered.

Maura takes a few steps away from the vat now that Quin is blocking the sight of it and Drow has pulled her away.

IG-101 did not wait to act and immediately opened fire on the monster that Draugr froze, sending four bolts towards the thing's face. Maybe a few blaster holes to the head would make it easier to look at? Or maybe it would make it much worse. Either way, Buddy was determined to help his new friends as they helped him. It only seemed fair, at the very least.

After taking his chance with his two blaster carbines, he would backstep away from the spewing flames this crazed being created. If anyone needed an extra hand to get them away from the fire, Buddy would be ready. Buddy would not show cowardice today, no matter how horrifying this place was. It was a good thing the IG unit was programmed with such a dominant optimistic personality.

Buddy fires four shots at the creepy beast's face then tries to avoid the fire. Keeps an eye his buddies to watch out for the fire boi's counter attack.

Even as he spoke in the moment, Veer couldn’t help but notice that Tazlen’s voice was far, far away. More clear were the voices that echoed in his mind - amplifying his suspicions and forcing him towards the worst case scenarios. His gaze snapped down towards the Jedi’s saber, and his own fingers twitched towards his blaster. He didn’t reach for it, though, exhaling a breath when Tazlen eased off his weapon. “Veer,” He muttered quietly, “Veer Altaris.”

“I..” He shook his head, mahogany eyes snapping towards Wax. Every desire within him screamed to finish reading the notes. He needed it. “To fight the Sith,” He answered back to Tazlen quietly, “To protect..” His voice trailed off.

“Can’t you hear them?” He repeated, anxiety flashing across his features as he looked between Veer and Tazlen. How couldn’t they hear it? It was so loud..

“NO!!” He screamed as Waz began to ignite the notes. Without a word, Veer lunged towards the desk - desperately attempting to salvage the notes. His notes. He needed them.

The Center Choice

The combined effort of the Sith to destroy the beast before them was not enough to save their little droid friend. Before the emo trio burst into action, IG-101 had been completely taken aback by the durasteel doors blowing off their hinges.

Even with his robot brain, IG-101 was not able to react in time to the molten fire erupting in his face. The happy go lucky droid would find himself completely coated in the napalm like substance, the viscous goo burning hot enough to begin immediately turning his chassis into slag.

It would burn all the way down to his vital circuitry, destroying everything that made the droid “alive.” His photoreceptors would blink and shudder a few times before finally falling inert, leaving IG-101 nothing more than a pool of melted durasteel.

Meanwhile, his compatriots would be otherwise successful in their attacks. The strength of Draugr’s stasis left the beast unable to really defend itself. Like his smaller brothers that had attacked the Sith earlier, this creature also had numerous kinds of technology jutting into and out of its frame.

As such, the combined effects of Trace’s lightning and Anai’s redirected fire destroyed much of what kept the monster alive. It would slump over with a loud thud, lifeless.

Now that it was on the ground, they would see cables that trailed behind the beast and into the generator. From what it looked like, the cables were connected to large connectors on the monster's back, just below the huge nodes that jutted from its shoulders.

As if it were some kind of catalyst, the moment they felled the beast the group would feel the Station lurch violently, the suddenness of it occurring enough to nearly knock them from their feet.

What little back up power the Station had been relying on had been reduced even further with the organic generator’s death. Red lights would begin blinking in the hallway, casting curious and unsettling shadows across the Sith while they were left with much to figure out.

Back up the hallway where they’d come from, each of them would be able to hear shouting from the voice they’d heard when first landing. Though, all the way down where they were, it would be hard to make out what was being said.

Would they turn back or continue to forge their own path through the Station? It was hard to say when it came to Sith.

The Left Choice

Throughout her conversation with Quin, the sounds of the creature would never really stop assaulting Maura. Even with the older Jedi blocking her direct view of the vat, the slithering sound of cracking glass tugged at her attention.

Then she would hear the unmistakable sound of shattering glass. The quick gush of liquid waterfalling onto the ground, she would even see it slowly pooling around her feet.

The creature from the vat would rise from behind her would-be Jedi shield, looming over the both of them, smirking maliciously with its decaying mouth and rotted teeth. In front of Maura, Quin would almost seem to shimmer and fade before her very eyes before coming back into a tighter focus.

But now, it wasn’t the Jedi Knight she knew and trusted standing before her, but an unholy amalgamation of the creature and Quin. It had the same grotesque face and malevolent smile, but somehow retained the Knight’s worried eyes.

The creature closed in on the padawan, its mouth open and seeming to grow ever wider, looking to swallow her whole.

To Quin, it would almost seem like Maura’s had gone catatonic. Her eyes slowly started to glaze over, her lips silently mouthing words he couldn’t manage to understand. The room would seem the same as it had when they’d all first arrived. There were no monsters in the dark for Quin.

Behind him, a solitary lightbulb in a metal enclosure began to blink red as blast doors started to close near where they had entered the lab. A clear cut sign that somehow, someone somewhere had initiated an emergency lockdown for the station’s interior.

The Jedi Knight would have little time to make a decision on what to do. If he moved swiftly, it was plausible he could grab Maura and make it through the blast doors before they closed.

Still, the almost overwhelming weight of choosing to leave this room would make his feet feel like they were stuck in wet duracrete. Like he was growing roots down to the very floor. The Station shuddered and shook violently then, as if something very bad had happened somewhere else in the facility.

Quin’s instincts would be screaming at him to run.

He would need only to listen.

The Right Choice

Things were escalating quickly in the extraction room. Tazlen would be able to feel the darkside tugging at Veer’s mind even when the man managed to whisper out his answers to the Jedi’s questions.

To Tazlen it would feel like the man before him was being eroded in real time by the malevolent energies that swirled around all of them. Like tiny invisible sharks swarming around a fresh source of blood, each taking their turn to gnash and tear their little piece away from the whole.

When Wax lifted his saber to destroy the notes and Veer lunged, they would also feel the sudden harsh movement of the Station at the same time. Since it would have been so unexpected, Veer would have been unable to save the notes from being destroyed.

Instead, his lunge would be off target, causing the soldier to slam face first into the corner of the desk, his outstretched hand clipping the blade of the Wax’s lightsaber. The blade would slice straight through the middle of Veer’s hand, severing all four of his fingers and half of his thumb.

The man would have little time to process the pain, though, as his face colliding with the desk broke his nose and knocked him cleanly unconscious.

All of these events would have happened in the span of a few seconds, leaving the two Jedi with now destroyed notes and an unconscious, wounded, possibly corrupted soldier with no real solution on what to do with him.

Behind them, on the wall, a small red lightbulb would begin blinking. A signal to most that something very bad was happening somewhere.

Even through the haze of the room their Jedi instincts would be pulling them back towards where they’d come, the force urging them towards the center of the station.

Timing out has consequences and I have ignored or overlooked those posts that came in after the time limit.

Trace saw the droid get hosed down by flames, but she couldn't save him this time. She'd saved him once before, and this time it caught up with him. Not that she was shedding any particular tears, but having the extra body would have been nice going forward. Well... at least his sacrifice had let them kill the hulking beast.

Nice work, she said to the others before hearing the screams back down the hallway. But Trace... well, she was a Sith and she was a little spiteful. She'd tried to convince the people to come with her, and they hadn't. She wasn't going to go back for them.

I think we should press on, she said, motioning back toward the maze of halls she could sense. Unless one of the others objected, she would, indeed, press onward, letting the tip of her saber carve a single streak just behind her on the ground... a measure in the event that they had to follow it back out to the exit.

"Quin, go!" Drow barked, having gotten the younger Jedi's name from earlier. The darkness was all around them like an enveloping straitjacket and the older Ishi Tib knew that it would very much behoove them to get the hell out of here as quickly as possible. He went to pick up Maura in a fireman's carry and tried his damnedest to hustle the both of them out the door. His smaller frame and older age meant that his joints creaked a bit but lifting with his legs and the good old physical supplement known as The Force helped tremendously.

He briefly considered stunning the girl to make her easier to transport but decided against it. He didn't know what was affecting her and stunning someone with an undiagnosed problem could possibly lead to more catastrophic consequences. That being said, if Maura did resist being carried, Drow wouldn't leave the room without her and would try his best to calm her down.

TLDR: Drow tries to fireman's carry Maura and get out of the room with her. He won't leave without her

The beast of a creature in front of them was felled with quick succession. The three Sith had disposed of it fairly easy and it had only managed to kill the droid with them. Draugr hadn't known it for long, nor really cared if it died. The droid served its purpose and now it lied in a heap of melted metal.

Using the Force, the Zabrak would pull one of the blaster pistols to his hand and then clip it onto his belt to better prepare for what lied ahead. Looking at the corpse of the beast, he did take note of the cables of which had been noted as power cables. It served as as a generator of sorts. Odd but Draugr had to keep in mind the mission here wasn't finished. Then that's when he heard the screams from behind him.
"Those fools made their choice.. let them suffer their own consequences."

Draugr had no care for the Jedi. He gave them a chance and they deliberately chose otherwise. The Dathomirian Walked forward to the halls behind Trace and kept an eye out for anything coming their way. The only thing that mattered was finding what they came for, turning back only wastes time.

Clouded by the malicious influence and the whispers in his mind, Veer had very little control over what he was doing. His body moved without second thought or hesitation, as if driven by primal instinct to protect the notes. For reasons he couldn’t explain, he had to protect and read them aloud - to finish what he originally started.

But he wouldn’t.

As he tripped forward, Veer barely had time to register the loss of his fingers - the agonizing pain of plasma slicing through his hand - before his head collided with the table. In that instant, the world went dark for the Axxilan, launching him into unconsciousness and to a place even the whispers couldn’t reach.

With a gash split across his scalp, Veer crumbled onto the floor - the rifle dropped from his hands to clatter across the floor. At least for the time being, the Axxilan was dead to the world - completely at the mercy of the Jedi and whatever else lurked within the Space Station.

Luckily, Jedi wouldn’t just leave him there.

Right..?

Maura watched in horror as the glass broke before her, and the creature slithered out and melded itself with Quin. What had once been a familiar face was now an amalgamation of him and it, leering down at her like a wild dog preparing to sink its teeth into its prey, but still looking with upturned eyebrows and worried eyes.

It was freaky and horrific as hell, and the padawan would've left it in the dust if she could've gotten her limbs to move. She wanted to scream - wanted to run - but no amount of will could get her body to move. The girl felt entirely stuck in place, frozen with fear, and it wasn't until the Ishi Tib plucked her up from the ground and began running away with her in his arms that she began to move. Even in his grasp, she was deathly still, and her neck craned backwards so her black eyes could stay steady on the Quin-creature behind them.

Maura doesn't resist Drow.

Anai's breathing started to calm down as the beast was felled, the threat of fire being extinguished alongside the life of the creature. The Kaleesh composed herself, looking at the other sith before her eyes darted to the ground, feeling conflicted about the fact that she had shown fear like that, especially in front of a sith master, would they think less of her for being scared for a brief moment? Would they think she was weak and pathetic?

The Kaleesh would take a quick look at the melted droid before deciding to move on, coming to the conclusion that it was, indeed, too far gone. The Kaleesh wouldn't dwell too much on it, they saved the droid once but it was probably for the better if it was destroyed now if it needed to be saved that often, they couldn't afford to carry dead weight with them...Which is why she didn't object to leave the jedi on their own, so she obviously followed the other two.
Anai follows.

Wax reacted as soon as he could, but he wasn't fast enough as Veer lunged for the notes and sliced his fingers off on his blade. His blade switched off almost immediately, which was a good thing because Veer proceeded to knock himself out on the table and Wax had a feeling his head would have followed his fingers in breaking up with his body if the blade had stayed active.

Guilty, and also a little relieved that finger was as bad as it got, the appearance of the blinking red light did not add a sense of comfort. "I think that's our cue to leave, we should get him some medical attention." Wax would proceed to hoist veer up by grabbing him under a shoulder, hoping that Taz would follow on the other side. If the other Jedi complied then Wax would exit the room, and not really realizing what he was doing, turn in the direction that would lead them towards the center of the station. That is unless Taz managed to correct him and head them out towards the exit.

Tazlen was too late to prevent what happened and he kicked himself internally. Even with the soldier knocked out, the Jedi could sense darkness looming around him. He sighed as he walked over to hoist the man up, “We need to keep him asleep,” He told Wax, “He’s become a liability,” Taz explained.

While logic told him to go towards the exit, his Jedi senses told him to go towards the center. He grimaced at the tug of war, glancing over at Wax. Deciding to follow his Jedi instincts, Taz walked the direction of the center room, carrying the soldier between them.

The Center Choice

The path forward for the Sith would become more and more cramped as they pressed along. Eventually it would come to the point that they’d have to walk in a single file line.

Trace’s idea to leave a line for them to follow back was a good one, especially with how winding the tunnels would become. Eventually, the serpentining maintenance tunnels would lead the group to a large circular chamber that at one point probably acted as some sort of waste water overflow.

What was there now, though, looked like something ripped straight from a horror vid on the holonet. The chamber itself had a diameter of around 50 meters and scattered throughout it were large, slowly pulsating pods.

The pods themselves were odd looking, a mixture of technology and organics. Although, the Sith trio would find their attention drawn to something else that occupied the chamber. Six horrific looking figures were stationed in even intervals, each stationed near one of the pods.

As if they could sense the darkside presence within the Sith, the figures would turn to face them as soon as they stepped foot in the chamber. They would let out an inhuman scream that echoed off the durasteel walls and assaulted the senses of the Sith.

The creatures moved erratically, almost as if they were teleporting short distances. As they moved in on the Sith, three of the creatures would send blasts of darkside energy toward the Sith.

The energy crackled from their spindly fingers as their screaming continued relentlessly.

The Left Choice

Drow and Maura managed to make it out of the lab just as the blast doors sealed shut behind them. As she was carried to safety, Maura would see the creature staring back at her - its eyes unblinking, a disappointed grimace pulling at the corners of its lips.

The last thing the girl would see before the cold durasteel sealed the room from her gaze was the creature turning its attention to Quin, who seemed rooted to the ground. They had left him behind.

Once he was out in the hallway, Drow would hear the sound of a voice echoing from back the way they had come, though he wouldn’t really be able to make out much of what it was saying.

Meanwhile, inside the lab, Quin would find himself entirely alone. The blast door that sealed the only exit to the lab looked thick and heavy and made of durasteel. His lightsaber could probably cut through it, but it would take him quite some time. And time wasn’t really something the Jedi Knight had to waste.

As if it were empowered by the fear it had caused in Maura, the presence in the room turned its eye toward Quin. He would feel the darkside energies that swirled in the room press onto him and weigh him down, like a hundred pounds of dead weight was suddenly placed on his shoulders.

In the darkness before him, Quin would see the monster that Maura had seen. Shadow seemed to cling to its body, giving it the shimmering haze of smoke.

Just as quickly as it had appeared, the monster would lash out at Quin with a clawed hand, looking to slash him across the chest with its razor tipped fingers.

The Right Choice

As the two Jedi drug the unconscious Veer back the way they’d come, the echoing voice would become clearer and clearer as they got back to the hanger. Strangely enough, they would also notice that the door the Sith had used earlier was no longer sealed, and the room just beyond it was where the voice had been coming from.

Passing into the room with the large glass elevator, the Jedi would see on one of the larger video screens the man that had tried to warn them of things when they’d first arrived.

As if noticing their arrival, the man on the screen would start his spiel over again.

Your friends in the tunnels are doomed. The man said, his face forlorn and his tone defeated. They’ll never make it out of the breeding chamber. The Station will make sure of it.

The video on the screen crackled with static and went blurry for a few moments, like a video on Spacetube that was having buffering issues.

You need to take the elevator up. You need to find me. I’ve rerouted enough power for one trip. I’m the only one left who can help you. The only one left who knows..

The video would turn to static again, though this time it didn’t come back. They would see the elevator in front of them, and the now open door the Sith had passed through earlier. The remnants of the creatures the Sith had defeated would still be strewn in pieces in various places on the floor.

The Jedi would be left in silence to make their choice.

Trace continued on through the twisting tunnels until they reached the open room. She had a full body shudder at the sounds around her and the... things that filled the room. She was able to take it all in at once across the entire stretch of the room, and each place she "looked" was more horrifying than the last.

The screech that tore through the room was enough to make her recoil a step, wanting to flee, but not really being able to.

A pulse of energy came from one of the creatures at her, and she wanted to leap up and gain some high ground... there didn't seem to be any.

She pulled the Force around herself, using it to dampen the impact, but she was still knocked back several feet and the creature seemed to have made it almost atop her within an instant as if traveling through the Force itself.

She didn't have time to think so she acted. The saber in her hand swept up, looking to catch either of the arms that might have been near her to attack her. She sent another strike aimed directly at the belly - because really with how tall these things were that was about as much as she could reach - and hoped to cut it down in its path, always using her acrobatics and mobility to evade the creature's attacks.

Maura's eyes remained locked onto the creature - to Quin - until she and Drow cleared the barrier of the room and slipped through the blast doors just in time. But just before the durasteel doors squeezed shut, she watched as it turned its gaze to Quin, appearing to Maura as if it was looking down upon itself.

"QUIN!" Maura broke out of her paralysis, but her scream for the other Jedi fell far too short and came far too late. Her voice bounced right back to her, echoing around in the dark hallway alongside the voice that Drow could hear further down. Maura paid it no mind; in fact, she barely even registered its existence. Her rigid, frozen body would suddenly erupt into sporadic movement as she tried to wiggle her way out of Drow's arms. Should he let her down, she would immediately rush to the blast door with her fingers already curling around the wooden hilt of her saber. If he didn't, she would fight harder until he was forced to drop her, and either way she would yell, "WE HAVE TO GET HIM OUT! HE'S ALONE WITH IT!"

Her mind felt so much clearer now. This Maura - not the Maura paralyzed by the stare of some dark thing - would not hesitate or freeze. "I'll cut the door!" The girl's thumb traveled down to the ignition button, and the saber's violet blade would spring to life with a distinctive snap and hiss. The hum of the blade would soon be dulled as she pierced it straight into the durasteel, tensing the muscles of her arms and shoulders as she forced it through as far as it would go. Slowly, the girl would begin to work against the metal, her face tight with anxiety. "Get ready to shoot as soon as I... get... this..." A bead of sweat trickled down the padawan's forehead. This door was really hard to cut!" "...open..."

Maura gets out of Drow's arms and begins trying to cut through the blast doors.

After Maura’s question about if he could see the creature she described, Quin shook his head. He couldn’t blame her for feeling scared— his own feeling of dread had only increased since the Padawan revealed what she’d been seeing.

“I don’t know what’s going on either, but we’ll find our way out of this together, yeah?” Just then, he saw the doors closing, and he suddenly felt the urge to grab Maura and run. However, another, stronger feeling somehow made him feel as if his feet were rooted to the floor. He knew he should move, but he couldn’t. For a moment he could only stand and stare at Maura as if willing her to get out while she still could, though the rising panic in his chest stopped him from being able to say a thing.

To his relief, he saw Drow pick her up, and he tried to move his legs to follow. Again, it felt as if something were pressing down on his shoulders and preventing him from moving. This time though, it felt worse, and as the blast doors shut Quin would turn around with an effort to see what had happened.

A wisp of smoke was the only thing he saw at first, but he soon realized that it was some kind of monster. Even if it appeared as if it were a cloud, its razor-like claws looked as real as anything else in the room and he ignited his saber as quickly as he could, aiming to block the blow to his chest. Then, he would attempt a Force push in its direction, trying to push it back as far as possible so that he would be able to get a better look at whatever this creature was.

As they continued to push through the building, Draugr followed Trace as she had the best sight out of the group, and would stay prepared for any incoming attackers. This place seemed to have a lot of them so far. The Zabrak held his saber ignited and entered behind Trace. That was when he had the barragement of screams hit his ears.

At first it was a shock of loudness, but then he could feel the force around him and pulled it in to protect him from whatever force use would come his way, luckily he did it in time as it would push him back but due to the screams catching him off guard the hit was slightly successful as he slid back and almost fell to the ground. Looking out he saw some more creepy looking creatures heading his way and they seemed to be skipping through the air almost like a lag. The force use was off the charts.

Draugr watched as a couple of them came his way. He needed to act quickly, so using the force he looked to grasp the throats of the two and hold them in place. Then if successful he would slam them into each other as hard as he could hoping to keep them down long enough to get another attack in afterwards. He only hoped the other Sith would be able to hold their own until he was finished with the fodder.

Veer wasn’t entirely sure how much time had passed, as consciousness slowly returned to him. The Axxilan groaned quietly, mahogany eyes flickering opened and closed for the first few seconds. It was at that time he registered that he was being hauled by both Tazlen and Wax, and promptly signaled both of the Jedi to lower him back to the ground.

Whatever voices had haunted him.. They were a bit more distant, just then. His thoughts were his own, even if he had only vague recollections of what had happened before. “I’m alright..” He muttered, deliberately keeping his hands away from his weapons, in the event Tazlen or Wax got jumpy. “It’s me.” He repeated, whether they believed him or not.

Only then did the Axxilan glance down to his left hand - staring at the stumps where his fingers had previous been. The sight immediately brought a grimace, a bit of the color draining from his expression as he gazed upon the dismemberment. It was only the message playing in the room - and the choice laid out before them - that drew Veer’s attention.

The Axxilan could practically see the Jedi wanting to go after their ‘allies’ before a word was spoken, and Veer preemptively gestured towards the elevator. “They can handle themselves,” He stated curtly, gaze flicking between Tazlen and Wax, “Whatever it is, if we’re going to stop it.. Taking that elevator may be our best shot. Might even save the others from the rest of the station.”

“We need to exhaust all of our options.” Assuming the other two didn’t attempt to stop him, Veer would begin to step towards the elevator to further make his point.
