Altair made polite conversation, sipping from his drink as he felt the buzz beginning to hit. The sulfur did the trick, and he was beginning to loosen up. However, that didn’t help with the stuffy atmosphere. The tiefling cast a sideways glance towards the dance floor, surprised to see Varyn (@Phoenix ) sweeping through the floor with a hot girl. It took a moment for it to register that it was the infamous Cipher Six, the agent that toppled the Oracle. Good for Varyn - he wanted his buddy to move on from the past.

The tiefling drained his drink, turning right in time as the music drastically changed. As if on cue, Kalique gave him a knowing look and approached him. Altair actually chuckled to himself, remembering this exact scene from the very first day they met where he was sitting at a social event scrolling through his comms feed.

When she asked for a dance, he gave her a smirk, “Damn straight, Knight Captain,” He said as he undid a few buttons of his formal uniform jacket and loosened the tie over his dress shirt underneath. Altair grabbed her by the hand and led her out to the dance floor. He faced her at first, swaying from the side to the side, his old dance moves returning to him. He wasn’t afraid to show off his moves, his body rocking to the beat. He moved in close soon enough, dropping down to her waist level effortlessly and bouncing on the balls of his feet to the rhythm before slithering up to dance again.

A tray was passing by with shot glasses and he swiped one for himself and handed her one, hooking his arm through hers to let them both throw it back at the same time.

Five was a rare sighting within Imperial space; his designation as a Cipher often regulated him to undercover work that left him gone for months or longer. He couldn't even recall the last time he had been to an Imperial social, with the company that typically surrounded him being criminals or secret traitors to the Empire. But even so, the events that had unfolded on Dathomir reverberated throughout the Empire and even the galaxy. The victory had been costly but a victory nonetheless, and it deserved to be honored, especially for those who had made it possible.

Entering the grand hall, it appeared he had arrived at just the right time, with the orchestral swells suddenly transforming into a groovy and upbeat song. Five was dressed in an all black three-piece suit that fitted his toned form perfectly. He cleaned up the best he could, his beard trimmed and his hair tucked behind his ears, hiding the bruises and other marks that he had recently collected underneath his clothing. If they bothered him, there would never be an indication, as he'd just assume one of the many masks he crafted.

As a tray passed by, Five smoothly swiped one of the glasses off of it while his piercing green gaze scanned the dance floor as it became flooded. He spotted all the high-ranking officials and superiors and knew he should have paid his respects first, but a familiar face caught his attention immediately—Six almost gliding amongst the dancefloor with the Lord Commander. He checked for other Ciphers but his gaze slid back to her after a few pitiful attempts. The dress made her stand out like a beacon, and the grace she moved with was captivating, as he saw others watching too. She seemed weightless and it was the first time he ever saw her in a truly social function, owning the space that she was in. Combined with the fact that she was the only recognizable person in the hall for him, it ignited his desire to join her despite just arriving. After all, it was a party.

Suddenly acting upon that urge with a swig of his drink, he slithered through the crowd with practiced ease. Five eventually approached Varyn and Six, saying, "Pardon If I'm interrupting anything, I couldn't help but notice a new song came on. Mind if I stole you for this dance?" His gaze at first went to Lord Commander, which he offered a nod to, but when he asked the question, his attention was only fixated on Six with an offered hand.

Varyn smirked as she seemed to not notice those who were looking at her, and more than that, she didn't look away from him, her eyes locked onto his. He was pretty sure he could have gotten lost in those eyes for a very long time if he allowed himself.

They were in perfect unison together as they moved across the dance floor, never seeming to miss a beat off the other's cue.

His heart quickened as she wrapped a leg around his, and he dipped her low, marveling at the fact that even in heels she was all grace and class. The song finished and he pulled her in close toward her so they were only inches apart as they came to a stop.

I'm full of surprises, he said with a playful grin.

The next song came on and he almost laughed. Wow, this is quite a change of pace, he said. But he also saw his opportunity.

Such a change of song, maybe I could also have this second, different dance? he asked. Because yes, of course, there was no other conceivable reason he could be asking.

Somewhat irritated, Commander Karn gave the Lieutenant his lighter back after he had lit up his own stim. It was scented, but while seemingly pleasant it was hard to place what the stimulant was that his cig was laced with. What was more notable, however, was his silence when Jacen asked what he was getting the Cipher agent into.

Levik placed both elbows on the railing and turned to gaze towards the Raxus skyline. "If the bureau ordered you to look into the eyes of Cipher Six," who he had purposefully assigned to Jacen as somewhat of a mentor, "and strangle her to death. Would you do it?"

Commander Karn was probably the last person anyone would suspect to test another imperial's conviction in the 'Imperial Principle'. His file was filled with disciplinary strikes over excessive consumption of alcohol and an outspoken opinion on the Imperial hierarchy. That was before the Empire split from the Sith Order, though, and since then he had somehow made himself invaluable among the Peacekeepers of the Imperial Security Bureau.

Meanwhile the music changed from the classical tones of a formal event and switched to that of a no-limits party. Levik turned his gaze to inside and noticed Knight-Captain Demici swing her hips to the music while she approached the Grand Marshal. The intelligence monitoring reports on Kalique during her temporary demotion had mentioned a fling with Altair before she started a relationship with Commander Baize. She still seemed to enjoy a party, however, which wasn't that odd perhaps, so Levik turned his head back towards the skyline and blew out some blue smoke. Regardless of Jacen's answer, he would merely take another drag and then toss the stim over the railing where the wind would catch it on its way down to the ground.

"Think about it,-" he sighed and turned to head back inside, "-then call me. There's an op we need to discuss."

Then he simply headed inside and made his way towards the exit. The formal part of the event was now done with the music change, so he had an excuse to get the kriff out of his uniform and return to work.

With the shifted music, the crowd was beginning to let loose, especially because the first shots had already been taken, judging from the way some people immediately crashed the dance floor. It was nice to see the mood lightening up and she knew she wasn't the only one who was glad about the change.

This night was a great opportunity for all parts of the Empire to bond and mingle and it was perhaps even necessary for them all to start into this actual party after everything they had been through. Without even thinking twice, Altair grabbed her hand and led her onto the dancefloor, both of their bodies soon moving to the rhythm.

Her hips swayed to the music, her movement growing more energetic as Altair quickly loosened up as well. It was amusing to see how some couples went from formal slow dancing right into the complete opposite. As the a tray of drinks passed then, Altair didn't hesitate a second before grabbing a pair for them and hooked his arm through hers.

The bottoms were up quickly and the first shot downed before they immediately went back into the dance. "Look at you thriving!". She knew he had been on Dathomir, seen and witnessed everything, even fought the Witch Queen himself, but unlike others, he had clearly waited for this.

Kalique focused on the party vibe, knowing it was somewhat needed, although sad that Jon hadn't come tonight as he was busy with work again. Maybe it would have helped him to take his mind off things as well, but she respected his choice. She was still hoping that those who were here would try to use the opportunity to socialize.

The song faded and in came something even more party like, which was why the dancefloor quickly filled up. "Would you rather down two more shots or a whisky?", she asked with a smirk, effortlessly moving in sync with him as another tray approached, picking up on the game they had once started even if she remember the last time they had played.

She was down to party and knew Altair was a man respecting boundaries, so she wasn't worried about that. She was curious about whether he'd immediately chug down whatever he'd choose though, wondering whether he had drunken prior to their first shots- not that it really mattered with his super livers though.

The formal portion of the evening’s events concluded, the attendees dispersed around the hall, filling it with the din of good-natured chatter. The Honor Guard too, began to slowly filter off of the dais and integrate into the larger mass of celebrants. As the officers and seamen descended the stairways leading from the dais, a general bottleneck occurred and Lieutenant Solari found himself shoulder to shoulder with a familiar face.

“Tavell.” he said by way of greeting. Kellan had briefly served in Hamber’s (@OsricVek) squadron when he was merely an ensign. Back then, through the naivete of a newly arrived graduate of the Imperial Academy, Hamber had seemed larger than life. Rumors of his ferocity and exploits in the name of Imperial space superiority had been a near constant companion during Kellan’s time in the academy and the young pilot had been ecstatic at the concept of serving beneath the man.

In reality, Solari had found in Hamber a man unchallenged in battle but wholly defeated by war. Death had blunted the man’s idealism, leaving a husk of a soldier in its place. The day Kellan received his transfer papers into Delta Flight had been among his happiest since enlisting.

“Hopefully the Empire’s victory at Dathomir didn’t put too much a damper on your spirits.” he remarked. “Nothing a stiff drink won’t fix. Hell, I’ll even put up the first round. We can toast the 81st if nothing else.”

Shouldering his way through the press of officers, he emerged onto the main floor with the clusters of Imperial personnel. Every conceivable branch and rank was present from the grunts to the admiralty. Only Kellan’s oppressive fatigue kept the wonder from his eyes as he snaked his way through the cloisters of conversing power and influence towards the bar.

Navigating the outer edges of a boisterous copse of Intelligence officers, Solari found himself almost colliding with another familiar face. He gave a surprised blink.

“Ah, Knight Sere (@Volene),” he said, “good to see you when we’re not in danger of being consumed by ravenous horde of insects.”

Despite his maintained skepticism of the Imperial Knights, Merian Sere had been the first individual to humanize them in the pilot’s eyes. Any division of the IAF that was comprised of former Sith acolytes warranted close scrutiny, but Sere’s actions on Ord Trasi had convinced him the order had some degree of merit.

He glanced down at the young lady (@Xorism) whose conversation he had inadvertently interrupted.

“Pardon my interruption. Lieutenant Kellan Solari of the 81st TIE Squadron. Knight Sere and I saw some action on Ord Trasi. Killik swarm. Nasty business.” he made a vague gesture towards the bar. “I was just on my way to get a drink. Care to join me? I err..am sure they can drum up something non-alcoholic."

Six smiled at Varyn as the song came to a close. She could tell he was about to say something, but that was when another figure joined them. Her eyes widened in recognition, “Five,” She said with a grin, “Surprised to see you here,” The timing for this event was strategic to where multiple Ciphers could attend instead of all being deployed. She gave Varyn an apologetic smile “Night’s still young, I’m sure we’ll find each other again,” She said with a wink before being guided away by Five.

She eyed him in that suit, “I almost didn’t recognize you,” She said with a chuckle “You clean up nice,” She placed a hand on his shoulder, taking in sight of his perfectly trimmed beard, wondering how it would feel under her touch. He was a man that kept largely to himself, but he was methodical and professional on the job as needed. Even by Cipher standards, he had an air of mystery about him.

The music had changed and she adapted accordingly, swaying and dancing to the rhythm. However, she would see how he led things.

When Six took his hand, he gave a second nod, but this time with a smile, to the Lord Commander. "She'll be back safe and sound," he reassured him before she was pulled away and deeper onto the dancefloor.

As he led Six away, Five walked backward with his gaze locked on hers as she claimed his attention fully. A grin formed on his lips at her words, and his blunt response was almost instant, "I doubt it." When she complimented him next, his mouth cracked into a half-smirk as he came to a halt to claim their territory on the floor. She would feel his hand slide to the middle of her back, pulling her in smoothly against his large frame. Her smaller figure fit snugly against his, and he enjoyed the warmth of their bodies joined together. His pure green gaze peered down at her and complimented her back in a low tone, "And you remain as beautiful as ever." She was dazzling tonight, and it was easy to see why so many eyes were drawn to her.

Five matched with Six, swaying and dancing to the rhythm of the initial song as his occupation of a Cipher translated to dancing, his feet light and his movements filled with grace as well. As they danced together, he commented about their situation, "I suspect I'll only be able to have you for this one dance," completely accepting the fact that someone was out there waiting for their turn after him. Before he could finish, the music rapidly shifted to a new song, one even more upbeat than the previous, injecting new energy.

Adapting to the change, Five took a single step back before sliding one of his hands into hers, interlocking their fingers, and spinning her around as the song sang the word itself. When her back was turned to him, she would be pulled back and rest comfortably against his torso, his hands placed upon her waist. Six would be able to feel his bearded cheek pressing gently against the side of her head as he murmured softly, "So, I suggest we should make the most of it and skip the other bullshit." They could discuss how they were doing another time.

Altair was in his element, his entire body loose and swaying. It was clear he knew how to own the dance floor. As for Kalique, she didn’t have anything to worry about - even if they both had been in the dating scene, she was buttered noodles and he had a taste for malatang. He spun around so his back was against her front and he dropped it down low, shimmying and swaying as he danced, meeting Astrid’s (@Mr. Teatime )gaze at some point and flashing her a wink.

He spun around again and grabbed Kalique’s hand, twirling her and switching her from one hand to the other as an oldie but goodie came on. Altair ran his fingers through his hair, his other hand loosely on her hip as they danced. The tiefling was distracted when she asked him a question - and it took him a moment to recall that she was playing that game from the first time they met, “Two shots, baby, let’s go!” He called out as he floated over two for himself and handed Kalique two of hers, throwing them back quickly.

“Jacket on or jacket off?” Altair asked in turn, still unsure how he felt about getting down in his formal uniform. He was guiding Kalique around all over the floor, at some point cutting right in between the adorable little squire (@Xorism )from earlier and the Imperial Knight (@Volene )he didn't know. He gave a friendly jut of his chin to them as he sailed between them and past them, twirling Kalique in his wake as he did so.

With obvious reluctance Karn returned Seven’s lighter. Jacen relished the irritation that flitted across the Commander’s expression. He packed the carton before pulling one out and lighting up. Jacen’s questions hung in the space between them as he stowed his lighter. He’d purposefully come in hot because that’s what a cocky Blackout Fleet Lieutenant would do, but under the surface Seven was watching The Commander's every move.

Karn puffed his stim while glowering out at the competing monolithic spires warring for supremacy of Raxus’ skyline. Jacen finished his fancy pilsner, unphased by the Commander’s compilation. However, the words that bubbled out from that toxic waste dump of a mouth caught seven like a sucker punch to the jaw.

Jacen frowned shaking his head in disbelief, “Are you fucking high?

Seven locked it down curbing his emotional response. He was still within his usual barometer as Jacen but that rational had been surprisingly close to home. His heart was racing and it was taking everything in him not to look back through the doors toward Six. He hung his cigarra in his lips and shoved his hands in his pockets hiding his the white knuckled fists. As he joined the Commander in admiring the skyline.

Karn left him instructions and Jacen blew out a plume of smoke.

A line had just been drawn.

He had a decision to make.

The clock was ticking.

Seven stepped back into the main room. The party was in full swing and to be honest he welcomed the change of scenery. His eyes searched the dance floor and spotted her. He felt himself release a breath he hadn’t realized he was holding.

Oof, this really was a bad idea, he thought sarcastically.

He was near one of the Hors D'oeuvre stations when he spotted a crisp white uniform and a shock of blonde hair. He looked back to the dance floor, Six was busy, and Five could… Five could move? Huh, that actually wasn’t as surprising as he’d originally thought. The guy was amazingly methodical. Good for him. Seven needed a drink. He slipped a whisky off a server droid tray and stepped up beside the ISB agent asking “Mind if I join you?

Name's Sev,” he said, flicking her a sidelong glance while taking a sip of his drink. “What’s yours?

The solemn party didn't last long before being kicked into another gear with some proper music. Amusingly, several high profile figures quickly tore up the dance floor as the agent continued to occasionally glance over. It was a little out of character for Guin to be attending such things, with a recent effort to expand her horizons and blossom, rather than wilt in the comfort zone.

She was halfway through taking a mouthful of some kind of cheese appetiser when an unfamiliar man appeared beside her and introduced himself. "Mhm." She attempted to say, slightly caught off guard and promptly attempting to be presentable. Taking a quick sip of her own whisky, the agent returned a smile. "My apologies, of course."

Normally the quiet one, Guin had found several new drinks that seemed to bring the best out of her in these types of situations. With the party loosening up, it didn't seem all that risky to have a little fun here and there where she could, and even her friends had been encouraging her to be more outgoing. Returning the glance, she couldn't help but blush a little, "that's a cute name, Sev." It even had a nice little ring to it as she said it.

Offering a hand, the newly adventurous blonde playfully challenged him. "Let's see how you dance first?"

And so the Knight-Captain fled her too, leaving Merian alone, half relieved, half disheartened that even her attempt at opening up hadn’t seemed to count at all. Maybe that was the real lesson: don’t be familiar with superiors. Own your grudges, or everyone else will own them for you. Duly noted.

Then the music changed to something that reminded her of the drug-addled lowlives from the Lance and Merian wondered if this was truly the worst night of her life. She didn’t drink but tonight she felt compelled to start. Let her numb that aching guilt in her brain, ruin whatever was left of her reputation with high command. No reward in being professional. Let her forget Maros and Botajef, forget Ord Trasi and the Killiks. Let her forget everything until she was shipped back somewhere across the galaxy with her lightsaber and a problem to solve.

“Excuse me miss...”

The woman before her—the girl, really she couldn’t be older than fifteen—was definitely not high command. She couldn’t be IAF, and ISB was unlikely. A squire? Merian heard her out. Maybe that was the only way to get her mind off things. A new task, an objective. A mission. Cake.

“That would be quite the glaring oversight,” she answered, the beginning of a smile on her face. “Maybe the kitchen is waiting for the fancy dinner bites to be done before they bring it out. Shall we investigate?”

They didn’t make it far, though. First Kellan, then the Grand Marshal cutting between them, accompanied by Knight-Captain Demici who’d visibly found more agreeable company than her. Merian acknowledged them with a nod.

“Lieutenant,” she replied. “Likewise. I’m afraid my associate here and I were on a very important hunt for cake.” Merian turned to the girl; she would let her decide. “Lieutenant Solari is one of the bravest TIE pilots I’ve been given to witness, and some say a party isn’t a party without a bar, either. Then again, cake. What do you say?”

An excited smile blew up Rhia's face as Merian agreed to help with the cake scramble. "Yes, definitely, the kitchen sounds like the perfect place to start." The interruption by the Lieutenant was unexpected, but did little to deter the squires enthusiasm. "OOoh that's soo awesome, I love the sound TIE's make as they fly overhead."

Contemplating on their little dilemma for one third of a fiftieth of a second, Rhia quickly nodded. Sometimes you had to make compromises to secure alliances, or so her school teacher said. "How about we search the bar first for cake, and then the kitchen next."

The excitement being palpable, Rhia turned to find someone again just in case before she spotted the friendly Mr Din from earlier dancing with her mentor Lady Demici. Sweet, she's busy - Rhia internally giggled before offering a small wave as they sailed away @Sreeya @LadyRen

"Alright, let's do this!" Rhia held out her hands for each of them if they were so inclined, equally happy if they preferred not to. The journey to the bar was short and sweet, which coincidentally was exactly the drink that she was planning to order. Pulling herself up onto the barstool and waving the barman over, she'd confidently order something amazing. "One Piña colada for me, thanks, but hold the good stuff. And something for my friends please, we're on important imperial business, a cake hunt!"

Open bars were less fun with virgin drinks, but who could say no to free refills?

Jon had originally found himself elsewhere instead of the ceremony, not quite ready to face that. The inquest into Dathomir had not been made widely public, but the people who would know would be in attendance.

He had visited the cemetery where those soldiers who had died on Dathomir had been buried. The more he walked the rows, the more he thought about the ones closest to him who had died, he became more convinced it better honored them to celebrate them with the living.

He was late, but not terribly so as he ascended the stairs and entered the gathering. The party was more energetic than he thought it would be, certainly more so than he felt on the inside.

The Commander wore a pristine military uniform as was proper for such an event but it felt somewhat out of place here with the music. He started to move through the crowds of people, stopping several times to greet and check in on familiar faces.

The first shot did nothing with her - her mind felt brilliantly clear, but her mood continously improved as they moved to the catchy rhythm, showing off their dance skills while simply having a great time. They music changed again and they did actually rock their bodies with Altair seemingly zoning out for a moment.

With a quirked brow, she softly pinched his arm where her hand was placed right now, but that was right as he snapped back to her question. "Shots it is!!" she replied with a wide smirk, immediately following him towards the next tray. "Wouldn't it be fair if you drank twice as much with your Tiefling liver?" she asked challengingly, raising a brow.

What she noticed while they continued letting loose was that the stunning woman Varyn (@Phoenix) had formely been dancing with was now dancing with another agent (it wasn't hard to tell, judging from his chic attire, @Orbit), while her squire Rhia (@Xorism) was now involved with Knight Sere (@Volene). She flashed them a smile, briefly studying Merian's expressions as she knew Rhia could be a lot every now and then, but the Knight even seemed to warm up a little now.

Kalique immediately downed the shots, actively keeping herself from grimacing as they had obviously been much stronger, but not thinking too much into it. "Mhh..." she pondered on his words for a moment, scanning the dancing men around them while twirling, before she bluntly said, "Off".

The approximate majority of those around them had already shed their clothes, and while continued to dance, she helped him out of the jacket. The temperature on the dancefloor seemed to be rising quickly, and as he suddenly twirled her again, she suddenly started to feel a little odd.

She didn't think too much into it at first, so she began to ask, "Youuu figure we see-" and without another syllable leaving her mouth, she just dipped and dropped to the ground unconscious. Altair might have perceived the shift in her voice and how the language was suddenly much more slurred, but there was no other indication of the sudden nap that followed.

Sev scoffed as the agent skipped her intro and offered her his hand. He felt an eyebrow arch, “I do love a challenge,” he said, grin widening as he tipped the rest of his whiskey back.

He then took her hand, “Shall we?

Sev led her to the floor, placing his now empty glass on a tray passing by while falling into the ebb and flow of the music. As they landed in place he’d turn and step into her, closing the distance as the hand he was leading her with interlocked their fingers and the other landed in the small of her back.

I should warn you I’m not very good,” he lied, as he began to sway in perfect rhythm with the music. The pulsing bass was his lifeline and he followed the beat effortlessly while holding her gaze.

You can join in whenever you’d like,” he said, matching the challenge she’d set.

Five carried himself with grace and class, effortlessly moving her around in the dance. She had to chuckle at his sentiments at only having one dance. Truthfully, she was surprised at the attention - she had made an entire career out of blending in. In this event, she felt like a shining beacon and she wasn’t entirely sure how she felt about it. The Firrerreo was spun around, tugged backwards with her back pressed against Five’s chest.

His face lightly brushed against hers, and there was an unexpected jolt that ran through her. Six smiled to herself, bringing up a hand so her fingers lightly grazed along the beard like she wanted. It was surprisingly soft to touch, clearly well groomed, “Oh? What do you suggest we skip to then?” She asked as she spun back around to face him, her hands casually draped on his shoulders.

“Bet,” He said as he tossed off his jacket. He was left in a dress shirt and loosened tie, a combo that hugged his chiseled frame. The top of his chest glinted green from where Renfry's deputy had struck him with lightning, “No no..I took sulfur, we’re even now,” He said, his words slurring a bit. What the hell was in those shots? Altair thought he was seeing double, and he had to lean on Kalique briefly to avoid tripping over his own tail. His dancing adventure took him towards the snack table, and he lit up at the sight of pastries and other goods.

At some point Kalique had passed out, and he was blissfully unaware, bringing her along like a rag doll thanks to his own drunkenness, “Dude look at these cupcakes,” He said eagerly, releasing her for a moment to grab a cupcake and bash it. There was an audible thud as he kept thoughtfully munching on his snack, not entirely processing what happened. After a moment, he stared at Kalique on the ground and his brows furrowed.

“What the hell, Kalique, this ain’t no time for a nap,” He said, shaking his head as he finished the cupcake. It took his dumbass self a few more seconds to realize that something was wrong. He quickly wiped his hands off and crouched down to shake Kalique, “Wake uppp,” He slurred, wondering whether this was some sort of elaborate prank.

Not wanting to cause a scene, he hoisted her off the floor and pretended to dance over to the side of the hall, finding a lounge seat to set her down. Altair’s head was throbbing and he felt like vomiting, but he kept it in check for now. He was completely perplexed on how to wake her up, so he shook her a few times, only for her to faceplant his shoulder and drool on his nice dress shirt, “Aww, girl, come on!” He said in exasperation before grabbing a glass of water from a passing tray. He splashed some of it on her face, “Wake up before I call in the Valc orchestra,” He threatened - a band that was so terribly bad that it was an assault to the ears.

Drunk roll: 2/20

Guin wasn't entirely sure if it was the whisky or herself talking, but she happily took Sev's hand all the same with a smile. Finishing off the drink and placing the glass down on the table, she quickly followed behind as they whisked off to the dance floor itself as the song changed again.

Even attempting to keep up with Sev was impossible, the man was clearly a naturally talented dancer while Guin .. well she moved to the beat in in her own way.

"My tastes are .. unconventional.." flashing a mischievous smile, she kicked it into gear. The agent danced her heart out passionately, without a care in the world and waited to see if Sev truly had what it took to keep up.

Kalique didn't notice a single thing of what had happened after she had bluntly passed out. Altair was completely obvious of her state and so he carefreely dragged her along until her numb body landed on the ground with a thud.

She hadn't even registered how he had dragged her to the snack table, neither how he had blissfully continued dancing with her. She was oblivious to the sticky cupcakes hands that picked her up again and to the next tour through the hall. She even missed Guin's wild dance mishap and only when she was suddenly splashed with a full glass of water, she stirred.

Her eyes flapped open in a split second, wide and completely perplex as she desperately grabbed Altair by the shirt. "they're here! ", she announced, a wild panic suddenly taking hold of her as the shrill, disharmonic sounds mercilessy played in the back of her mind.

Somehow, her subconscious had picked up what he had said and the memory terrible orchestra let a horrendous idea manifest in her mind. Yanking him even closer, she whispered in his ear, "She's coming for you, Altair...your wife. She's angry". In Kalique's drunk mind, it seemed fairly legit that his dead Queen wife was haunting him right here, right now.

"We have to get you out of here". She glared at him in bewilderment, her tone and expression suddenly fully serious even if her speech was slurred. "Come!". She suddenly shoved him backwards, just to pull herself up on him, heavily swaying from left to right, but she was starting to drag him along. She heavily zigzaged, but she had a mission on her mind.
