Lon listened to the arguments from either side, and ultimately most of the votes were already being cast. Perhaps his would be just one more among many, but he would say his piece nonetheless.

Leave it to the ISC president and the corporate representatives to offer the most logical and unbiased opinions on the topic. It was a relief when intelligence won the day.

I won't pretend that the war hasn't been hard on many worlds or that people's animosity will disappear any time in the near future, he said. Whatever his feelings about the war or those on either side, he had to acknowledge that there were sins on both sides of this war.

But I also won't pretend that Cato Neimoidia ever had any interest in this war. Its reaches have touched everyone regardless of whether the battles have found their soil. If there is any chance at having peace and diplomacy, then the people of Cato Neimoidia will take it, he said.

I vote in favor of Imperial inclusion with voting rights, he said. He had ample hesitation about the Sith themselves being here after the fiasco with the Jedi, but there were trillions in Imperial territory without that sorcery.

If Alexander said he was pleasantly surprised that would be an understatement. The Supreme Chancellor had expected a fair amount of pushback from the Alliance and perhaps even some members of his own Government with regards to the proposal. But it appeared that on nearly all sides of the aisle they were in agreement that allowing the Sith Empire a seat within these chambers was a positive way forward. Not only that but they had nearly wholeheartedly pushed for his future amendment to his own motion, voting right for the Sith itself. He could not have planned this better himself.

Even though he was elated, Alexander needed to remain calm and look to smooth over the amendments and final technicalities of the motion before it was passed. Stepping up to the microphone once again he waited for the last representative to sit down. “Honourable Colleagues, I thank you all for your support in the passing of this motion. I truly believe that this is the first step to securing lasting Peace and Prosperity for the Entire Galaxy.

The amendment to which my Honourable Colleague President Thorne first raised, that of full voting rights for the Sith Empire. Has had its support by most of you here, firstly I would like to add my own support to such an amendment. Secondly, as with the initial motion to allow the Sith to sit within these chambers, I would extend the requirement to its voting members that they be of the Sith Imperial Government and not the Sith Order.

Many of us stand here representing constituents who have powerful feelings about those that handle the powers of The Force. Both Sith and Jedi and I believe we will do them a great injustice if we allow their concerns to be ignored at such a crucial and vital time in the Galaxy. I would also add that many of you here have seen the abuse of such power within this very chamber, something that we all wish to avoid in the future.

Furthermore, I believe the restriction of any Force Users within the ranks of the Sith Representatives, would help breed trust and confidence both within and without this chamber of the Sith Empires intent. For without the threat or danger of the Dark Side of The Force within our midst. The almost guaranteed slander from those who wish both ourselves and the Empire ill will, shall have nothing to bite their teeth into. And those within our chamber who have any fears of the Sith or their Intentions can be safe in the knowledge that they can speak freely without concern of misdeeds.

Finally, in terms of adding the Sith Empire to this Chamber with full voting rights. As well known the seats within this chamber stand at thirty for each of the three established Governments with a further ten being placed within the hands of the Corporate Sector. We have two options, the first is to simply divide the current seats with the Sith Empire. Giving each of the four twenty votes with the Corporate Sector keeping its ten. The second option is to add a further thirty seats to this chamber. Increasing its total capacity, but allow the current Governments to keep the current number of voting seats.

The former keeps within our system of limiting both the scope of the number of potential voices and personal agendas derailing our Democracy. The latter allows more freedom within our own political blocks for the representatives to vote as they feel is correct and just in their own hearts.”

The Speaker

Once again, the Speaker rose to the podium - bringing the chamber below to silence with a few slams of her staff against the ground. Only then did she lean forth, readying a tally of votes from her datapad. “By almost unanimous margin, the resolution to invite the Sith Empire into the Galactic Senate - with full voting rights, as added by amendment - is ratified.”

“The Senate now moves to deliberate on the redistribution of seats within this body, in addition to restriction of Force-Sensitive members hailing from the Sith Empire.”

Aezzairrfhowrrhudrrl couldn't believe what he was hearing. Once Emryc spoke- indicating his support for including the Sith in the Galactic Senate- the rest of the ISC fell in line, pushing the vote through along with the support of the New Republic as well as a few FWA surprise votes; the last group fooling themselves as to the Galactic Senate's power to mediate disputes. There was so much to address, the Wookiee wasn't sure where to begin.

For starters, Emryc had misrepresented his words regarding the FWA's military activates. "Point of Order; as for the single strike you mention, if anyone doubts the validity of our claims, they will also note that the Sith did not report any casualties in the aftermath of the strike, either."

That was a minor matter, though, in the wake of the other accusation that the President of the ISC had made; a connection that threatened to tarnish either the FWA or the Order at the galaxy's behest. "Furthermore, the Jedi are not the FWA's personal fighting force, Mr. Thorne. The Jedi have historically served across the galaxy, up until the New Republic barred them from their territory. As for their role in our ongoing defensive war, the fact that the Jedi's actions in support of the Free World's Alliance coincide with the only mobilization of the FWA since Palpatine's return is indicative not of the Jedi's allegiances, but the threat of the Sith Empire." Naming one of the most notable Sith in galactic history helped reinforce his point; even excluding recent history, the Sith did not have a good track record.

Having set the record straight, the Wookiee turned to the topic at hand; damage control, now that the Senate had foolishly voted to allow the Sith Empire to join the Senate.

"As far as our current order of business, I cannot vote in favor of a resolution involving Force sensitive members of the Sith Empire to attend. To your point earlier, Mr. President, if you believe that the Jedi are indeed the military of the FWA, then you must concede the Sith are the military force of the appropriately-named Sith Empire; a military force which, as I've said often this session, is guilty of horrific war crimes. The Sith also have publicly admitted to a barbaric means of settling leadership disagreements that would be ill-suited to our spirit of Democracy" he finished, throwing the ridiculous term back at the assembly with far more sincerity than he felt. The only spirit that most of the Senators were interested in seemed to be the Spirit of Screwing Others Over.

Emryc stared blankly at the Wookiee Senator as he spewed more drivel. He had to fight not to roll his eyes at how the man completely downplayed the fact that a terrorist strike was organized by the Alliance on a children’s academy. His angle was… ‘The Sith didn’t report on it’ and therefore the Alliance-released media had to be objective truth. Emryc didn’t even need to say a word about that and he knew the Wookiee would be crucified by the press for insensitive sentiments like that even if the academy was on a Sith planet. Lastly, there was never a question of the Sith being a military branch of the Empire because… that had always been the case. By that point the ISC President decided that the Wookiee was ranting for the sake of ranting without any real point.

In the end, he knew he didn’t have to say a word for the rest of the chambers to see how foolish the Kashyyyk Senator was coming across. Instead, the half Sephi gazed towards the Speaker.

“Unless the Senator of Kashyyyk has come up with a brilliant biology test to determine whether an individual is Force Sensitive or not, I vote that the candidate that is best qualified to represent the Sith in this Senate do so. Realistically, even if we bar Sith from taking the role, it’s not a policy that can ever be enforced just as we can never truly know how many Force sensitives are in this room right now,” Emryc said at last, fighting back a subtle smirk. The comments carried several different implications and it was also a subtle jab at the silly notion that Jedi or Sith could ever be barred from any planets, “And I propose we keep the same total vote with a 20 point split across all parties but keep the 10 for the Corporate Sector.”

To the rest of the Free Worlds senators in attendance, Cassian might have appeared callous or disinterested, his chin resting in the palm of his hand, a placid expression on his face, but he was merely stewing. Coming to terms with a decision made without his consent, that he could not change and that would not be undone.

Finally, he had accepted the fate of the Free World's Alliance. It was already defeated. The Sith Empire would not rest, not until every world in the known galaxy was subject to their rule. The ISC and the New Republic would continue to tip toe around the Empire, careful not to spurn them, while the free worlds crumbled around them, beneath the oppressive and unforgiving heel of the Empire. They would never rise to the Free World's defense, and in that, Cassian could not find it within himself to blame them. Were he in their shoes, he would have done the same.

But he wasn't. This decision would effect the free worlds far more than the ISC or the New Republic, and surely they knew that. They just didn't care. Hopefully his colleagues would accept this unescapable truth before it was too late—that the free worlds would fall, planet by planet, and that there was nothing any of them could do about it. Perhaps, if they did, they could carve out a life for themselves while there was still time, by flocking to the safety of the ISC or the New Republic. Before their planets faced the same judgement as Firrerre and Kashyyyk.

Force sensitive or non-force sensitive, Cassian could not and would not sit side by side a Sith, the enemy that threatened the safety of Onderon's citizens, in the assembly of the Galactic Senate. A long, slow sigh escaped his lips, and he stood, the first sign to indicate he wasn't dead since the meeting had been called to order.

"This body once voted against the idea of Sith inclusion, not so long ago." An addendum brought forward by the Jedi, of all people. "I don't know what has happened to change your minds since then, but Onderon cannot be party to such an egregious and shocking lapse in judgement."

Shocking it wasn't, but Cassian rarely spoke the whole truth. That was bad for business. "The Free Worlds Alliance did not start this war with the Sith, nor did we ask for it. It was thrust upon us and upon our people. The Sith attacked both Denon and Taris without provocation or warning, and that was merely the beginning. They bombed Firrerree, essentially wiping out its population. The planet is uninhabitable now. You would allow that same government to sit amongst this body? To vote? To decide the face of the galaxy? Of the government they seek to destroy by any means necessary?"

There was hardly any judgement in the tone of his voice, just disappointment. "Surely you must see that this is not sustainable. Two governments at war with one another, voting within the same chamber." Were they still at war, it would have been like asking the ISC and the Syndicates to sit down for a nice cup of tea. "Our people rage war against each other on the battlefield, only to come together to debate democracy?"

Perhaps it could have worked, if Carrick's amendment hadn't been shot down faster than a Emryc Thorne fan zooming in on pictures of his enlarged butt. But as things stood now, with the war only escalating at every level, it was not sustainable. Cassian shook his head. "I know I cannot change your minds, but I cannot in good conscience be a party to this." Now was a great time to start growing a conscience, after all these years.

"Onderon officially withdraws from the Galactic Senate."

The Zeltron switched his microphone off one last time and turned, walking away without another word. Except, perhaps, for one more text. Try not to miss me too much, Vaisra ;) @Song

So the motion passes, so going forward the Sith will with the Galactic Senate, so it seems. Such is the will of democracy. Vetra looked professional, refraining snickering as she heard the wookie Senator and the Onderonian consul. Onderon is leaving the Galactic Senate. It's not like they meant anything to the Senate anyways, the Free Worlds is just in such a unsatisfactory state of affairs, as demonstrated by this session and their recent woes. So Onderon leaving is a non-factor in the greater scheme of things.

As for what is relevant, there is the matter of how the seats are divided. Twenty seats for the 'Big four': The Sith, FWA, ISC, and Republuc or thirty. The Corporate Sector keeps 10 seats in any event. Vetra will then announce her vote "Anyways.." not letting the Zeltron's dramatics disrupt the session, letting it move continue buisness as usual "Twenty seats for the big four while the Corporate Sector Authority keeps it's ten seats, is the most logical. That shall be our vote" Vetra stated.

As for the issue with allowing Force Sensitive Sith being allowed to represent the Sith, although Force Sensitives could present problems as they did with the Jedi Grandmaster, Thorne touched on there that it's extremely doubtful anyone here has the means to test if someone is Force Sensitive or not. Some Force-using Sith look really obvious, but the Sith could find ways around that, rendering it moot. Ultimately, Vetra didn't want to touch that issue, at least not yet maybe, so she remained silent on that part for now.

Who will speak next...

Carrick's proposed amendment wasn't popular and it did not gain enough traction to be discussed further to any useful degree. The FWA representatives might have liked the idea a little bit more but they were outvoted and, therefore, the motion passed - Carrick's own vote had to be for his own amendment, of course, but it didn't make a difference. The ISC was voting, mostly, for the amendment that granted the Sith full rights within the Senate.

He made a show of bowing his head physically in a nod to show he was deferring to the will of the senate as a whole.

What an Empire would do when being granted access to become part of a democratic body he wasn't sure. Would they insist on allowing their Sith Order members being allowed to join? After all, the power of the Sith Empire was concentrated within the Sith Order, even if there were Moffs and Governors of some note.

The matter of Force Sensitives being allowed to stand as Representatives in the Senate was one close to his heart for a number of reasons - not least of which was obvious.

"Senators, I stand with President Thorne on this matter. Let those who are best suited to the role, regardless of race, creed or Force Sensitivity act in the best interests of those they represent. Senator Aezzairrfhowrrhudrrl, would you bar me from attending these sessions for my own Sensitivity to the Force?" he asked with a raised eyebrow, "If you would suggest so, it would be a tad late as we have been running these sessions for years and I have been an open Force Sensitive politician since before this body even existed. To suddenly grow an aversion to Force Sensitives being involved in politics stands contrary to your support of the Jedi Grandmaster during her time here and your lack of attempts to remove myself from my position here in these chambers."

He waved a hand.

"However justified you believe your hate for members of the Sith Order to be, please put it aside to ensure the most appropriate members of the Empire can be representatives here to help speak for billions of sentients. Already the representatives of billions, our fellow senators, have declared that the Sith be given a voice in the name of democracy - it is not our right to then pick and choose how they engage in democracy." he turned to the Speaker, "I second the motion of President Thorne; to those who deserve it, Force Sensitive or not."

It could go wrong, honestly. If the majority of the senate voted against allowing Force Sensitives of the Sith Order from joining, his own position hung in the balance. While he had never done magic tricks for kids outside the senate building, he had been very open about his distant past as a Jedi Knight before he left the Order for personal reasons. Then again... not being required for these tedious meetings would give him more free time.

... maybe there weren't any downsides!

At first, Aezzairrfhowrrhudrrl thought that he was having another heart attack, but after a few moments he realized exactly what was going on.

He was feeling respect...

...for Cassian Graves.

Cassian's was the most valid argument against the Sith's inclusion as any- explained far more succinctly than Aezzairrfhowrrhudrrl would've ever been able to muster- and exposed the hypocrisy of the representatives who spouted platitudes about democracy while welcoming the Sith's voices to the Senate. That vocal voices continued to push for blanket inclusion of any and all members of the Sith Empire only further proved Cassian's point; given who currently represented the Empire- Raze, Andruil, and others- war criminals would soon be welcomed to the Galactic Senate, all in the 'spirit of democracy'. The thought left an ashen taste in Aezzairrfhowrrhudrrl's mouth.

Democracy had died long ago, the Wookiee realized, sadly. Decency had died even earlier. So Aezzairrfhowrrhudrrl didn't even try to point out that his comments against the Sith had been misinterpreted to include all Force users; he just simply watched Cassian's exit.

Watching Cassian leave brought other emotions to the forefront of the Wookiee's mind. He was weary of speaking out against the Sith in a galaxy that was apparently desensitized to their warmongering, and increasingly willing to let the Free World's Alliance suffer and struggle alone. It was exhausting, fighting a two-front war; one on the battlefield, and the other against the politicians of other parties, which circled like a pack of ravenous wolves waiting for the opportunity to pounce on any perceived weakness or slight. It would be a relief to lay down that burden and follow Cassian's lead- to leave behind the Galactic Senate and everything that came with it. Yet, for reasons unknown even to himself, Aezzairrfhowrrhudrrl stayed; the Wookiee simply graced Cassian with a near-imperceptible incline of the head that the Senator from Onderon would never see.

Lon watched and sipped his coke as more drama unfolded. It wasn't surprising that the FWA Senators were up in arms, and it really went to show how uninterested they were in diplomacy. And they couldn't even see it. A path to opening communication, and they slammed the door shut but still blamed the Empire for the entire war. The Empire was at fault without doubt, but the FWA was far from innocent. Sides seldom were when a war was going on.

He turned his attention back to the debate taking place on the floor and spoke after there was an opening.

Those who sit here representing their respective governments have been chosen with purpose, for their insights, their skills, and their experiences. I don't believe we should remove those seats or individuals to add new ones. With that in mind, I would advocate for adding additional seats equal to those held by the founding governments and leaving current seats as they are, he said. It wasn't without its downsides as well, but he could already see the political fallout of people being forced to relinquish their seats to make room for a new government.

As for the implication of Force-users in this body, as has already been pointed out, our esteemed Secretary of Defense is among their number. I won't pretend that I don't have my hesitations about having Sith here after the prior Jedi indiscretion, but there are two things we must recognize. The first being that Sith hold prominent positions in Imperial government whether any of us like it or not. Both Empresses have been among their rank. Are we to bar key government members - say the Empress of the Empire - from meeting diplomatically with the rest of the galaxy? Such an assertion seems counterproductive to genuine dialogue, he said.

The second consideration is one that has already been brought up: even if we make such a rule, we have absolutely no way to police it. I can't advocate for making a rule about which we can do nothing to enforce. Therefore for practical reasons on both fronts, I back the motion that the Empire may send whatever representatives it deems most fit, he said.

Dusty decided to abstain from this matter entirely. As a matter of principle, he had no real qualm with the Sith - he'd even flown a few jobs for them in the past and had entertained accepting a bribe from them while he'd been campaigning for governor. However, he'd also flown against them on Felcuia and had ultimately refused the bribe in favor of the Syndicates backing. With such a mixed bag of experiences between the two of them, Dusty didn't need to give the Sith any reason to turn their attention towards him or Ploo II and loudly objecting to their inclusion on a galactic scale would certainly do that. Although there was a ceratin appeal to the thought of heroically flying up against their war machine in his personal ship, Dusty wasn't stupid - he knew such an outcome wouldn't turn out well for him or his planet. So he sat back down, messaged the governing body that he was abstaining, and played Wookiee Rumble - a new mobile game on his datapad - while he waited for this particular proposal to finish up.

Arianna remained seated next to her other FWA Senators, positioned to the far right of the Trandoshan @Issachar . She had been listening to the proceedings this entire time, her own thoughts spiraling with distaste much like many others as the Senate as a whole decided to agree for SIth Inclusion as well as with voting rights. There wasn't much she would be able to do in this case however, and it was a reality that began to settle down into her. From time to time, she would turn towards the Wookie to see his reaction to these events, her own alignment in politics very much in tow with the remainder of the alliance. @SlagathorTheUnknown @Fantasy Liver

A perfectly manicured hand reached forwards and grabbed the glass of crisp lemonade that set on her table, finger tracing around its base as she gentle put it back in place. Arianna waited for the previous official to be seated before she stood herself, her figure cast in a set of fine black cloaks as she delicately pulled the hood down to reveal the white hair that flowed underneath.

"Greetings esteemed colleagues. I have been silent for a majority of this congregation but have been listening to all of your thoughts and opinions. As many of you may know my staunch support for the Free World's Alliance, you may have guessed my overall displeasure with the passing of this amendment to allow Sith Inclusion. However, such is the will of Democracy and so I will gladly accept it in efforts to push forth peace and prosperity in this galaxy." She said, taking a brief moment to collect her thoughts before she continued.

"As for the newest proposals, I am in agreement with Governor Tendree, @Phoenix as I too, advocate for an addition of thirty seats to the Senate. In regards, to the last issue for Force Sensitives, Governor Tendree pointed out a valid concern as we are unable to properly enforce such regulations. Also, as mentioned before, I would not feel it right to exclude Force Sensitives from participating if they are indeed properly elected by their constituents and in the best capacity to serve their republic. I am in agreement with allowing force sensitives to serve in the role of diplomats of the Empire."

Arianna
said, slowly claiming back her seat. She wasn't surprised that several of her other FWA senators did not wish to voice their thoughts. In all honesty, she didn't really, but she also had a role to serve in Senator of Iego and for now, it was best that she did not let her true emotions leak forward. Arianna cast a supportive glance towards the Wookie and Trandoshan, following with a simple nod and whisper such that only they could hear.

"Don't worry, our time will come..." A dark undertone laced in her words.

"Coruscant supports the split put forward by the Corporate Sector representative. And given the precedent set by the presence of the ISC Secretary of Defense, the representative from Iego, and others, there is no reason to restrict who the Sith or anyone puts forth to join this body. Coruscant votes for no restriction on the basis of Force Sensitivity."

As was his style, Galek didn’t immediately add his voice to the choir, patiently allowing others an opportunity to make their statements - or in the case of most FWA Senators, promptly shove their foot in their own mouths - before rising to address the congregation. As a result, the Induparan was largely silent through the theatrics that ensued - hazel eyes following as Cassian Graves withdrew and exited that chamber for the last time. And in that moment, Galek couldn’t help but exhale a sigh through his nostrils.

Second only to their former Prime Minister Belasi, Cassian Graves was perhaps the least repugnant Senator from the Free Worlds Alliance, and someone that Galek held some modicum of respect for - albeit tarnished since that entire party incident. He took no pleasure in seeing the Zeltron leave - and more important, taking a planet as influential as Onderon with him.

All the same, the Induparan turned his attention back to the proposals at hand - deciding not to linger on the impacts of Graves departure. Rising from his seat, Galek clicked on his mic once more - hands coming to rest on the sides of his podium. “To be frank, I find it rather appalling for any within this chamber to consider openly discriminating against Force Sensitives - and to suggest that they are thus unfit to serve within the Senate.” His eyes narrowed slightly. “Least of all when there are current members of this body, who are, themselves, Force Sensitive.”

“Might I remind the Senator of Kashyyyk that the Jedi Order was expunged from the Senate strictly for their blatant disregard of the rules of this chamber. They were appropriately reprimanded, and I refuse to extend that punishment to members of the Sith Empire unless they, themselves, commit that same crime. Allow the most qualified member - whoever they may be - to fill those seats. That is my vote.”

“On the matter of allocated votes, I second the motion to maintain the current numbers - splitting the vote with twenty points for each major government and ten for the Corporate Sector.”

The Speaker

Right on que, the Speaker rose from her seat - stepping up to address the chamber once the final votes had been cast. The slamming of her staff brought the room to silence, and for a moment, camera droids were redirected to her. “With the final votes tallied,” She began, reading from a datapad, “The resolution to allow for the introduction of Force-Sensitive members from the Sith Empire is passed. Additionally, the resolution to maintain the current number of votes within this chamber is, also, passed.”

She gave a small moment of pause before moving onto the next topic - as if taking in a breath before dropping the bombshell this proposal was bound to be. “With that, the Senate may now move to deliberate on our next order of business: The formal dissolution of the Sector Rangers. To present this resolution, Chancellor Xerxes,”

She inclined a hand, and the camera droids followed. “You have the floor."

If he had a choice, he would have preferred both of the alternative options. Keeping Force Sensitives out of the chamber, would help him keep grips with his own innate ability if the need arose. Carrick was a known user, but one man he could deal with, twenty not so much. The division of the Republic’s power and rise of the Corporate was also an issue; they had close ties to the Consortium, giving that block a strong majority. Alexander had alienated the Alliance with his motions today, meaning his only real means of controlling the future meetings was with the newly arriving Sith. Ironic how many of them complained about limiting the voting powers of the Alliance previously, then openly jumped at the chance to limit everyones only a few minutes later.

The Supreme Chancellor rubbed the stubble on his chin as he deciphered the many options he had in front of him. His eyes stared blankly at the Speaker as she made her announcement, the votes were evident to see so Alexander didn’t need to hear the official announcement. Though his mind wandered a little too much, meaning he missed his first cue to approach the mike again, leaving a slight pause between the Speakers introduction and the beginning of his statement.

“My Honourable Colleagues, I do thank you for your time today. I have spent much of it talking to you today, in the attempts to further the peace and prosperity of all in the Galaxy. I have only one further motion I wish to discuss with you.

For hundreds of years the Sector Rangers have policed the Galaxy, although they have been effective at times. I believe that the time has finally come to retire the Sector Rangers from the Galactic Scene and to allow each individual Government to resume the full responsibility of policing their terrority.

The glimmer and shine of hope that the Sector Rangers once gave us has faded. Recent events such as the brutal attack on Alaskan. As well as a number of reported cases of corruption amongst their ranks has dimmed that light.

For a time we attempted to rescue the falling light of the Sector Rangers, by employing them as a line of defence against the Sith Eternal. However now that two thirds of this Chamber has achieved peace with the Sith Empire and open dialogue can begin with the remaining members. The need for this ‘line’ of defence has ceased to exist.

The Sector Rangers, mandate to travel throughout Government lines and deliver justice. Undermines the Laws and Traditions of each of our three Governments, for is it not these Laws that we have built our Governments on.

As such I propose the following motion. That the Sector Rangers are officially disbanded across all Galactic Senatorial space and that their current holdings are absorbed by the relevant Government, who controls the planet in question.”

Dusty was a big fan of the proposal coming from this dork. The Sector Rangers were yet another obstacle to overcome when one was a governor allied with the Hutt cartels. In his smuggling days, Dusty had had the odd run in with the Rangers and they'd long been a hindrance.

"Ploo II supports this motion. We don't need any Sector Rangers barging their way in our planet and getting in the way of some good honest fun!"
Dusty voiced his support.

Aezzairrfhowrrhudrrl sensed opportunity- a different opportunity than Dusty- within the Chancellor's words. The Sector Rangers were a valuable asset, especially amongst the FWA which had little in the ways of a central authority. Indeed, the Rangers were the closest thing the FWA had to an executive branch, and if the NR was willing to jettison the hundreds of experienced Rangers within their borders, who was he to say no?

"My understanding is that the Sector Rangers you speak of are the ones jointly supported by the NR and FWA" he said, with a nod towards the ISC's pods. The ISC had their own branch which operated within their borders, which wasn't overseen by the Galactic Senate; still, this wasn't the worst place to begin this conversation. "And while you may not find the Rangers to fit the future you envision for the New Republic"- the man was playing with fire, banning the Jedi and abolishing the Rangers within his own borders- "they are a valuable resource for combating the Five Syndicates within FWA borders and within independent systems not represented here." An argument stolen from the earlier discussions; wasn't there the ~wider galaxy~ to think about? "A complete disbanding of the Rangers does not serve Kashyyyk's interests, but if we agree to continue funding the Rangers for the rest of the year, the NR and FWA can use that time to meet and finalize moving the Rangers to the jurisdiction of the FWA."

Honestly, after the last resolution passed, nothing left mattered for Blackwell or the Corporate Sector. The Sector Rangers are a Republic/FWA matter and Vetra wondered by this was been brought here into the assembly chambers. Vetra half entertained of speaking up and informing them all of such... Then there were people speaking, the wookie Senator made an argument against what other alien said.

But she didn't care too much so she decided not to. It doesn't matter. The Sector Rangers do not operate in Corporate Sector space so what happens with this resolution will be inconsequential. With that, Vetra would then hit the button for 'abstain' and then turn around and then start walking away, leaving the assembly. She's salary, her job is done, and she will have more time for the rest of the day to do other stuff. The day is still young so best to take advantage. Maybe she will go get a drink
