Fifth Timeline: Nostalgia

Right, so we all know we're delving deep into the as-of-yet uncharted post-Legacy era - which means we have the entire history of Star Wars behind us in its entirety.

I was wondering if anyone planned on referencing any past historic events, notable technology or characters in any way at all? I've got a few ideas in mind, but I wanted to see what everyone else had planned in regards to see if I was the only one who planned on it.

my new characters are going to start on a holocron of Misha Ivanovna and Batvan Vaiych as of when they end up (gasp) falling in love. setting forth a family line that spreads to random places of the galaxy and ultimately ends up as my new main character(s).

as for easter eggs. yes i intend greatly on adding references to key figures and places in my backstories and the events taken place

One of my major characters will be retroactively tied into the Empire Reborn campaign, but that's about it.

I'm thinking of having some of my characters discover the Pancernik, the Sith Flagship that my Mando-Wookiee and two other Mandos triple-handedly took from Wing. Also, that Manda-metal lined cloak that my Jawa Jedi used might be something that another character could find.

From the 3rd and 4th Timelines, I might use a few last names.

My main character is drawing much of his experience from the holocron of a Sith Lady that lived during the Great Galactic War. I plan to somehow connect the character to one of my characters from this timeline as well.

I'm using the same lightsaber hilt I designed in this timeline for a new character in the next, though it'll be slightly modified.

Also planning on using the same picture I edited for the Darksaber armor for another character of mine.

One of my characters might be related to another, though the last name most likely wont be the same. I might not even run with that idea.

I'm making a TIE pilot, which will inherently draw on the iconic TIE series fighters. I'm also planning on making him a squadron leader of the 181st Imperial Fighter Wing. Interceptors are badass.

Wierdly, I was just reading that article. I'm looking at potential ideas for my character's starfighter and I've always loved the Interceptors. Was considering something along the line of a rebuilt, modified or replica version of this with a port for an astrogation droid.

My TIE pilot is also an Interceptor jockey, how odd. I've made up a squadron that he's part of, although he isn't the leader (yet). The intention is that he'll rise through the ranks at a comparable pace to his rival (coming soon not from me), both becoming aces, squadron leaders, wing commanders and the like all the while being, well, rivals.

I also want him to end up piloting some sort of 800 year on Defender. Those things are beastly.

Struggling to decide whether I want my character to have a Stealth X or a refitted/advanced version of the Eta-2 Jedi Starfighter.

Might also continue with the ties to Serenno that I've had for this timeline. Probably won't try to RP the Count himself, but toying with the idea that my Jedi will be descended from the Serennan nobility. Or something like that.

It's a slim chance that anyone from the Alsakan Crisis/Hutt War would be mentioned in this Legacies era unless they were pretty important. But hey, you never know. I thought about making one or two. But mostly my new Dagger, who is a mandalorian, may make a reference to his ancestor who was the Infamous Mandalore the Eskimo Paramount.

Other then that, I'll have to brush up on some Legacy stuff.

I love referencing in-universe history as a way of giving my characters more depth and making them feel like an actual part of the galaxy. :P

Are any canon relations allowed? If so I was planning on making my Togruta a very distant relative of Shaak Ti, though he's not a Jedi. I may make an Alliance starfighter pilot, possibly as a rival to Denzein's Interceptor guy. If so he'll be an historian-turned-soldier because his parents basically threatened him with being disowned or continuing their history of being involved with the military.

It would be neat if he was a Darklighter or his family had ties to them or something - I plan on him seriously admiring the feats of Rogue Squadron, and maybe if I use him enough going on to create a kind of similar ace pilot squadron for the new timeline.

That's about it as far as direct references to history though. I think it'll be very liberating to be able to mention things though, since there were very few things we could reference because of how far back this timeline was.

The Cange family tree line will return. So some references to that guys ancestors (Vuul, Keanu himself, his wife (who was actually played by a different person) and his son) will be made. I hope to expand it to other people aswell.

While our own perceptions of 14,000 years ago are fairly limited, mainly confined to what tool cultures people were in and what they were hunting or gathering, I could see as Star Wars universe knowing a bit more about their past. Unlike real life where writing hadn't been invented 14,000 years ago and languages have been rapidly changing since then, basic has been in use for a while nearly unchanged and presumably, there had been some method of digital data storage which should enable people to read the diaries of people 14,000 years ago. So while they certainly wouldn't be common knowledge, our characters this time should be discoverable by those in the next timeline.
