Well, I have an idea for specifically the Republic senators that would affect the RP a lot. So if anyone is interested you can pm me, and we could discuss it over msn or something.

Also to do what I have in mind I will need most of the senators to participate in this.

Sorry for any part I may have played in hijacking the thread. However, I would say your goal of getting folks interested in the political RP is well on the way to being met.

Thread was not hijacked, so to speak. It was all on topic, just got involved in what we should be talking about ICly =)

I'm glad we got the word out to a lot of members. Hopefully we can all stay as enthused when we start the threads.

Section 13 will most likely be enacted a LOT more than other other faction or sub-group due to politics. I foresee many under-the-table and underground projects in our future. If Section 13 is also becoming more active, it should tie in nicely.

Just FYI, Senators don't know about Sector 13. That's too dangerous. Only the Supreme Chancellor can give the orders.

I know. However, Sector 13, under the guise of a political watchdog group is going to be gathering intel on corruption in the Senate and confronting the Republic as a whole on such issues. They're going to be moving into a more neutral direction as being dependent on the Republic has stagnated them somewhat.

Oh... Well... Still, I assume that the Chancellor will still be using the S-13 Agents a lot in the near future.

Well, my guy is safe. He's one of those "young and naive honest politicians that everyone figures won't go anywhere with his career" lol

I was referring to Fauztin.

And you really can't be neutral. It's a Republic faction that takes orders from the Supreme Chancellor. I mean, you can go after shitty Republic types, which I suppose could be considered neutral if you're knocking off bad senators or something, but at the end of the day you're meant to be doing what's best for the Republic and that shouldn't be changing.

Now if you mean neutral to the point of actively aiding other factions if you think that's what's best for the galaxy, that's a very bad idea. Sector 13 and the Taungs were made sub-factions for a reason; they're there to counter one another. You'd be putting the Republic at a severe disadvantage now that the Taung are rebuilding themselves.

Even if you take shots at the Republic, remember that the purpose of Sector 13 is to aid the Republic.

Also, when you say "under the guise," you may be doing what I'm about to say already but I would set up a pretend watchdog group that gets its information from Sector 13. This watchdog group would be composed with Sector 13 puppets but no actual Sector 13 personnel, and those puppets wouldn't know about Sector 13. That way, the integrity of Sector 13 isn't compromised, and you're still able to do the watchdog group thing.

Bite me.

But yes, that might be exactly what I'm doing. Either way I have a rather large thing to post in the Admin section about this anyway since it needs GM approval/discussion/spam, etc. It'll be up later today.

My guy is just about a complete 180 from yours Fautzin, I foresee many intense battles between the two of us. It should be fun.

As for S13, is there any sort of Select Intelligence Committee that could have some read-in knowledge, or is it completely black-book, off the radar?

Which brings up another questions (and please tell me if I should be asking this somewhere else) will there be anything like committes in the senate?

Committee suggestions should be brought up to the Senate and the Supreme Chancellor IC, calling a motion to order and having it seconded, moving it, then putting together a committee for that motion if a committee is so desired and/or required.

Try not to get too bogged down in procedure in Senate RPs. You want to make sure you can generate interest.

Completely off the radar. Alcor Bac was the one who created it IC, and he never would've authorized letting senators know about it.
