Galden is a hard man, forced in to an unwelcome situation years ago, betrayed by his clansmen and pinned for a crime against Mandalore and His Clans. He was meant to be executed on Mandalore in the Blood Arena, where he would face the galaxy’s most dangerous predators until he lost.
Unfortunately for the gathered crowds, he didn’t lose. Despite insurmountable odds, Galden managed to best every beast they sent, until, barely clinging to life, he was granted Exile by Mandalore. Such a grand display deserved to be recognized, despite the crime Galden had been charged with.
Gathering what little possessions he had, Galden took off toward the Core, no thought of what to do with his life. He had always known he would fight with Mandalore, to be a sword to be wielded by his leader. Now his only path had been closed to him.
As most men with no plan and no money do, he found himself working in the underground, hiring himself out as a bodyguard to a Devaronian king pin by the name of Cheka. Cheka found many uses for Galden’s combat prowess, even entering him in to pit fights when the capricious devil wanted some quick blood sport. Galden did not enjoy working for the man, but in working for Cheka he was able to make a reputation for himself.
Galden was inherently loyal, as most Mandalorians are, and never betrayed Cheka. It was not until Cheka, frightened by Galden’s sudden popularity, decided his time in this realm was up, and sent his lackeys to ‘dispose’ of Galden. As Cheka should have anticipated, Galden came out the victor. He raided Cheka’s Corellian compound hoping to find the Devaronian there only to find his young son, Vicor.
Vicor’s left hand was left for Cheka when he eventually came out of hiding, with a note telling him where the child, and Galden, could be found. When Cheka arrived, however, Galden was nowhere to be found. An entire division of the Alliance Security Bureau, however, was.
Cheka rotting in prison and no one to oppose him, Galden let the Devaronian’s ventures collapse in on themselves, only taking enough credits to sustain him comfortably and a fast smuggler’s ship from Cheka’s ‘shipping business’.
Realizing he could only be loyal to himself in this honourless galaxy, Galden set out to recreate his name as more than a hard working associate. Contacts were made, broken, and blood was spilled, and Galden is no closer to finding his place in the galaxy than he was two years ago, when he was exiled.
But with the inevitable war everyone knows is coming he hopes to find it.
(le done. Half-decent, I think.)
