Sol was clued in by the Padawan's sudden shift in step that they'd noticed the knife's changed course. Vren focused on the knife, and that's where Sol found an opening. He did pretty well in his "Anatomy of Your Opponent" class back at the academy.

As Vren threw himself into a spin to avoid the knife Sol's left fist clenched tightly, wrapping the Force in iron bands around the Padawan's load-bearing pivot knee, intending to lock it in place while Vren focused on dodging and manipulating the knife. Combined with Vren's own twisting body weight thrown into a spin, this would dislocate the knee with a crunchy pop and send him tumbling. With any luck, the sudden burst of pain would also break Vren's focus on the knife.

Vren's hot-potato-esque knife return somewhat surprised Soleil. He quickly shuffled stepped left and turned his vibrosword to present its flat side forward like angled armor in front of his stomach. The knife struck with a ringing clang and careened off, the thin blade snapping free from the hilt. Its hilt clattered across the ground while the blade flew in an awkward arc, the tip swiping across Sol's sword arm to leave a long, shallow cut as it passed before flying into the branches of the tree far behind him.

He barely felt its sting with all the adrenaline and doubted the Jedi felt his little cut either. Soleil kept walking forward, a thin rivulet of blood dripping along his arm.

As Vren conducted the spin in order to dodge and throw the knife back, he immediately felt the force wrap around his knee. It was easy to feel the sensation of it attempting to lock up compared to the rest of his body. With the force still building around him, he reinforced his knee quickly to allow movement once more and let him complete the spin in one motion to face Sol. The knife would still cut across his leg but instead of being flung back, it would clatter along the ground and away from the both of them.

The Echani had his saber still in front of him and at the ready for anything, the force once again ready in his other hand. Being the species that he was, Vren was highly perceptive and noticed how the acolyte had a closed fist and had refused to use the hand the whole time.

As the two advanced to each other, the padawan's gaze would be locked on his opponent and after one more step, he lashed out with the force to the closed hand in one quick attempt. It would rip open Sol's hand but only enough that it would allow the collected dirt to be caught by the wind and be widdled to nothing. If the acolyte wanted to protect his hand, then it would pretty much confirm Vren's suspicion. The distance was between them was shortening and the padawan was ready for anything as he waited.

Things were not looking good for Tiberius. The Sith had managed get him off balance with a force push causing him to roll. He knew that he would be vulnerable in such a position. He knew that he had to do something or he would likely be dead. Closing his eyes he set off a blinding force flash Force flash.

Unfortunately, Tiberius counter was not enough to stop his sith opponent. The Jedi felt a sharp, burning sting as the red blade of the sith made contact with his right leg. Luckily, the sith’s attack did not completely severe Tiberius leg. However, the attack did cut through some of the muscle making it difficult to stand, and Tiberius was now bearing the majority of his weight on his left leg. Although deep and painful it was not enough to put the Jedi knight out of the fight.

Tiberius winced as he got to his feet. The smell of burning flesh, his flesh, filled his nostrils. As he stood he felt the burning pain from where the Kaleesh’s lightsaber had cut into his legs. His opponent was already 10 meters away. She probably thought that she had dealt Tiberius a finishing blow. This fight was not over just yet, though. The Jedi held his yellow blades lightsaber in his right hand out in front of himself pointing towards the Sith at a 45 degree angle, and also at a 45 degree angle across his body. His left arm would be up behind him bent at a 90 degree angle at the elbow and at the shoulder.

Tiberius was still getting used to the pain in his leg, so instead of running at his opponent he began closing the gap by walking towards the sith. He didn’t know what kind of state she was in, if she had been totally blinded by the force flash, or if she had recovered by now, but Tiberius was prepared for another attack

Caris second blade found purchase in the Sith Lord's flesh. He would finish this. Rather than resist the push, Caris hurled his yellow blade at the rolling Sith Lord. The Force push was aimed at his gut so he was able to move his right arm unimpeded, Force flowing from his right hand. As his target sent him backwards, Caris' yellow blade raced towards horizontally towards the rolling Sith Lord . He threw the saber as the Sith Lord began his roll. It would bisect his legs as they were in the air with his head down.

Since the Draugr was rolling, seemed to assume his Force push had worked, and would not be able to see the blade at such short distance, the Lord would have no time to react.

However his tactic came at a cost. The force push hit him in the gut which drove the wind from his lungs and sent him scooting backward. He had at least one broken rib sending sharp pains up his abdomen. Caris had bet it wouldn’t mater as the Sith Lord would be without his legs. Caris remained vigilant as his feet set.

Even as the light blinded her, even as she wasn't sure if she had fully hit her targer, Anai would smile as she at the very least heard flesh being seared and the lightsaber going through something for a fragment of a second before ending ten meters away from the jedi. Anai would step backwards only for a few seconds, blinking rapidly before slowly but surely gaining her vision back, the flash not being as potent as it could've been due to how quick the jedi had to do it.

However, before she started walking towards the jedi once again, Anai noticed the shadows of the ships covering the whole zone now, her yellow eyes opening in shock as she realized what was about to happen...Soon enough, an orbital bombardment started happening, buildings being hit, craters forming all around them as laser fire hit the ground, more than a few of them getting dangerously close to jedi and sith alike.

"What the-We need to go!" Anai shouted, looking at both Sol and Draugr and then realized that, no matter how well he defended himself, he was at the very least the most wounded one from their team and so he took priority in her mind. The Kaleesh acolyte used the force to push Caris even further away from both her and Draugr, the man already a bit away thanks to Draugr's own push. Her goal was to put some distance between them, couldn't really care about hurting him when the orbital bombardment would most likely do all of them in.

After that, Anai would hurry towards the sith lord, making sure he was as okay as possible and probably carrying him away from the battlefield depending on how badly he ended up before trying to fall back with him. Her eyes would be all over the place while all of this happened: She had to made sure she wasn't killed by a big laser, she had to make sure none of the jedi targetted her while she was doing this and she was also glancing at Sol as to make sure he was okay, hopefully the jedi were panicking about as much as she was.

The force blast connecting with the Jedi sending them back. Draugr's body would fall back and he would begin to roll but as he had he noticed the body of the Jedi somehow as the force pushed them back, throw his saber towards the Sith Lord. What a waste of a blade. Draugr would notice and stop his roll as it had only started and would remain lying on the ground. His right blade still lifted would be moved to block the saber and with his left he would use the force to pull the hilt to his hand. As he caught the hilt, he would look up to see giant blasts of lasers begin to strike the surface as the Sith dueled the Jedi.

He had to react quickly, rolling over and lifting himself off the ground via his hands and knees. The yellow saber in his hand would be a fine addition to his arsenal and work well for his next plan of action. The Jedi fought bravely and cowardly. For now the Sith must fall back to the landing zone and begin to fortify as they would continue the fight for Ithor. Only now it would take longer to win.

When the Lord noticed the champion hurrying towards him he walked fine but his shoulder had taken significant damage. He would point to the ships with his left hand as he would yell to them to run back as he did himself. Whoever ordered the orbital strike will be executed as soon as Draugr finished his fight. Some time in the bacta tank and he'll be back to taking this planet over with his troops.

"Fall back! We will take this planet for the Empire, whether it takes days or weeks or months. Death before dishonor!"

While Vren had empowered his leg to force through Sol's grip, it hadn't actually dissipated. Instead the silent acolyte kept his hold, subtly reinforcing his influence on the padawan's limb. Echani weren't the only people who followed body language, sensitive to how another moved, glanced, and generally carried themselves. Sol's closed hand was less than subtle.

The Force lashed toward the acolyte's hand to wrench it open. A dry smirk formed and at the same moment, the grip on Vren's right leg intensified, re-asserting to whip Vren diagonally left and back. Aside from forcing the Jedi to cross his legs and throwing him off balance, he'd also careen back toward the building he'd stepped out of to bounce painfully off the wall. Sol's hand only fought with physical strength for a moment before opening, dirt and pebbles showering harmlessly to the ground.

Then the bombardment began, completely killing any thought of follow-up whether the attack worked or not. Grimacing with widened eyes he glanced toward the other two Sith and backed off along with them, fingers tightening around his vibrosword. Soleil retreated backward, soldiers around them doing the same. He'd slip back around the tree and pass into the throng of bodies returning to their ships, out of sight.

The two hadn't even closed into close combat yet and everything was already going to shit. No matter how laid-back Sol usually was, with adrenaline and emotions running through him, that pissed him right off. He'd be moody the entire trip back to the carrier ship.

The Sith Lord managed to stop his roll and jut out his hand for the saber. Fast reflexes. Caris seemly yoinked it back. The blade belonged to him and grabbed in the Force before Draugr had a chance to firmly grip the hilt. (@Scoobert) The lightsaber soared back into Caris’ hand hilt first. He’d have given up the red blade, but certainly not his kyber. As his hilt slapped his hand, the orbital bombardment began. The Shadow barely managed to hurl his body away from an incoming blast. His ribs cried in agony. Immediately he looked towards V and Tiberius. (@Orbit @logn2665) “Time to go!” Whatever Sith had decided to irradiate the battlefield was drunk. Sith forces and defenders alike were eaten by the blasts.

Caris stumbled to his feet and waved for his companions to follow. “Come on!” Their job was done for the day. The Sith Lord and his lackies were retreating. They had stalled just long enough. The battle for the soul of the planet was not over but neither was Ithor lost. They could send word to the Council for reinforcements. The Sith may have gained a foothold but the planet held. With more resources and time, they could win. He was certain of it. He would need to make a full report to Sevrin and the First Shadow.

Draugr was not as dangerous as they thought and clearly unable to command his forces. Who would allow their own position to be bombarded. He took a painful breath as he began to jog. He needed a drink first.

Tiberius had only taken maybe two or three steps towards his opponent when they were rudely interrupted by an orbital strike. One of the lasers landed between the jedi and sith. The shock of the attack knocked Tiberius off his feet. He pushed himself back up, wincing once again as he did so. By the time he got up the Kaleesh was gone. She had gone to aid the sith lord. It was probably for the best though that the dual was cut short. With his injury it would make it hard to react to additional attacks.

He looked over and saw Caris falling back and calling for them to do the same. Tiberius hobbled off, following Caris lead. He was doing his best not to get vaporized by the lasers raining down from above. Debris from the impact was whizzing past his head.

This had been the knight’s first encounter with the sith empire, but he was sure that it would not be his last. Next time he would be better prepared.

It seemed the Sith Acolyte was still latched onto his leg. As he did the little maneuver on Sol's hand to release the collected dirt in his hand, he felt his knee begin to jostle once more. Fortunately for the Echani, his little move to open Sol's hand required little concentration or focus.

As he felt his knee begin to shift, the force that was under his command would once more reinforce the joint. Vren would keep his control of it until the Acolyte decided to finally let go of his leg; while his move to remove the contents from Sol's hand had worked. But, before they could even have the chance to cross blades, a bombardment began to tear through the plaza and in between the Jedi and Sith.

The grip around his leg would evaporate as Vren would deactivate his lightsaber and lift both arms to cover his eyes. Dust and rubble had been kicked up, separating the two parties and offering a chance for the Jedi to pull back. Hearing the call of Caris, the Echani held his gaze where Sol had been moments ago before he turned and ran as well.

Catching up to the others quickly, he kept his pace up with the rest. The Sith have arrived and it would result in another long battle over the control of the planet. Vren's eagerness to complete his training was reignited by the event, once more reminded of the danger the Sith presented.
