A normal guy shouldn't be able to "remove and quickly reassemble" an electronic monitoring bracelet without anyone noticing. Who was this guy, freakin Tony Stark? The crime itself is simply abhorrent, but I find that part a quiet unnerving as well.

I hope they go for the death penalty for this one.

That's sickening. But seriously, if this guy had federal charges for child pornography, he should have been behind bars to begin with.

According to the article, the officers in charge of inspecting it didn't do so, so it was probably wearing down or deficient. They've since been fired or demoted.

Ah I must've skipped over that part. The officer who failed to maintain this dude's bracelet should have a little more done to him than being fired, or more than likely simply demoted. He should get accessory charges, because in essence if the idiot would have done his job correctly the crime would have never occurred in the first place.

I agree. The people who were responsible for monitoring this guy should be held accountable to the furthest extent possible. You can recover from a demotion. Granted, getting fired and having that stain on your record would make getting another job difficult, but that doesn't seem like enough to me.

as sick as it is though, It's at least nice to be living in a place where this sorta thing IS a crime, tons of places in the world this is a fairly common everyday thing and nobody blinks an eye at.

though my momma claws are out and Im pretty much on the cusp of a rage though,

It is rather unnerving that he pulled this off.

I sincerely hope that his plea bargain for life without parole is revoked so that he can be given the Death Penalty.

People will go to great lengths to do anything, sadly it just so happens those great lengths can be good or bad. This makes me sick, good on the mother however for getting her kid to escape.

However, I hope he does not get the Death Penalty. Just lock him away and throw away the key, two reasons. One, he deserves a fate worse than death. Two, I don't want my tax dollars going to the fund draining appeals processes for such a creep.

Psh I wouldn't put the death sentence on him. Lock him up for life and let the other prisoners due what they please. They don't take too kindly to rape and molestation.

That's another good point, child molesters/rapists are the lowest of the low in the prison hierarchy.

Why not just build a working camp and work him and people like him to death? Feed them once per week with a moldy bread, beat them every day and let them sleep in their own shit before giving them a pickaxe or something and sending them to a quarry. If they try to escape, shoot them.

But you got those politicians and everyone else who believed in humanity. So I doubt they'd stand for it even if the man did something that horrible.

It’s a sad implication on society when we have blood lust over crime and want people to receive the death penalty. It’s an even sadder implication when those opposed to the death penalty are opposed simply so the criminal can be raped and/or murdered while in prison.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one thinking this.

Hey I never said raped I don't stand for that. Murder within reason, though I've got nothing against him not being able to walk for the rest of his life.

Agreed. Life imprisonment, possibly in isolation because of the dangers keeping him in general population would pose, would be a horrible enough punishment for nigh anyone, I would say... I can't think of much worse, to be honest. *shudders*

There's much worse than being isolated for life. Though none that they could do, legally atleast. Though I wouldn't want to wish being tortured to near death everyday for the rest of your life. Though I guess he would be mentally if they broke his legs to where he couldn't use them.

EDIT: Lots of though's in those sentences :D
