I don’t think Christopher Nolan will be doing more DC movies. All recent talk has said that Warner Brothers is planning to use Man of Steel as the introduction to a larger DCU, similar to what Iron Man did for Marvel, and they want to have a Justice League movie at some point. Just like he was with Batman, reports have said that Nolan is resistant to the idea of Man of Steel being connected to any other superheroes or a larger DCU.

Nolan made a financially successful and critically acclaimed Batman trilogy, but, if I was in charge over at Warner Brothers and DC, I’d show him the door. He is not the right person to be involved in a DC cinematic universe, at least not beyond being a producer of Man of Steel.

He's not. But these aren't rational thinking human beings. These are film studio execuitives, all they see is the dollar sign attached to the Nolan Batman trilogy, and if Man of Steel does really well too I have no doubt WB will try throwing money at Nolan to try and stay on.

I think that’s a big maybe. Yes, studio executives are always going to be greedy, but they also have egos. If the studio has a vision that they want to put forward and Nolan still tries to control everything, they’re not going to want to work with him again. That’s why I said I’d show him the door, he’s just incompatible with a Marvel-style film series. I don't think he believes in it.

What people also need to understand is the fact that when a Director takes on a project, let's say for the sake of example, a single big studio film, he or she is basically devoting at least two years of his or her life to that project. Now, consider the fact that Nolan has already done three comic book projects, all of which were utterly exhausting experiences, one even involving a highly publicized death.

If you were a Director/Artist, would you just keep doing the same shit over and over again because of those facts? Or would you want to keep making new/interesting projects?

Besides, he's already working on that new film Interstellar as well.

Not only that, but consider his writing style too. Nolan doesn’t believe in leaving things out of one movie for the sake of a sequel. He believes in giving the movie you’re working on everything you’ve got, and then you can worry about a sequel later. He wants each film to have integrity and feels that if you have something out of one for the sake of a possible future film, then you’re removing some integrity from it.

And now people are saying he should take on a DC cinematic universe? That’s not going to happen. Look at a film like Captain America: The First Avenger. It was a good movie, but it was also clearly constructed to be a lead-in to The Avengers. Nolan couldn’t do something like that, it’s not his style.

DC and Warner Brothers need to find their own version of Kevin Feige, not Christoper Nolan.

I can't think of anyone I would like to helm a DC Cinematic Universe.

I do like all of the recent talk though instead of just coming out of the gate with a Justice League film, they've decided to take the Iron Man route with Man of Steel. It's smarter than the previous proposition.

Well he might of done three movies, but if you told me he did about a week of planning on TDKR before they started filming I wouldn't be surprised.

He had some half decent ideas, what was terrible was the execution.

Either way, there's little chance the score in MoS will be nearly as good as this.
