Thread

SO we have some issues with the openr having met the objective of the mission by setting up the guns in the first 2 posts.

We need to discuss either going forward with making defending the guns and not dying the goal for mission success or perhaps having edits to include the setting up of the nests as part of mission success.

After looking at the edits, it looks like you guys are defending the guns during installation and we will be attacking them somehow. I think this fits the mission prompt nicely and will allow us a fight that isn't just getting blown up as we try to approach the island.

Thanks for being cooperative...pretty excited for the thread.

Hey there,

Maps help me visualize these things a bit better, especially at the beginning. So I thought I would throw something together to fits all of our posts. I can make tweaks and what not if there are any issues.

Blue Dot = @Raydo
Purple Dot = @vamp

I love it and asked Raydo to turn the image 180 so I can be at the bottom left, cause I have huge left right issues.

probably my fault. I tagged people in discord and I kind of stink at that. I get so many typos and tags do not like to be edited.

@Raydo...... can I assume that instead of how the post is written....

""Alright, don't kill him then." he said as the Jedi ignited his blade. They were still in the treeline, but would be close enough to cover this Luy fellow should it come to that. They were about 50 meters off to the Feeorin's right. As soon as there was any reaction to his presence they would engage. "

that instead of being at Luy's right, Varus is actually to his left. And instead of still being in the tree line he is actually at the barricade as indicated in the image?

do you need to edit the post or the image of the map?

Forgive me for not bringing this up earlier but i was so excited about just having a map I didn't examine things more closely. Then I had to get offline for a bit.

Cause I am thinking if Varus is at the treeline, it doesn't make sense for Wes to hear you over the sounds of battle in the area and such. But if Varus is at the barricade as in the image then his hearing the man makes more sense.

"When the Feoorin's blade went up, past thigh-level, the Sith's blade would slash into his thighs... Because he was still swiping up, it would be hard to instantly swipe back down to block the attack."

Basically meaning that as soon as Luy's blade passed thigh-level, he would be hit. A quick flick of the wrist might be enough to block/parry, but rolling his wrist would require more time and by the time his lightsaber hit Wes' hand he would find himself leg-less.

Edit: Also, I have armor, so already writing that Wes' hand is cut off isn't accurate

Hey there,

After discussing it with Sangga, there was no real defense against his attack other than Wes attacking. Luy's attack was completely ignored. If Wes was swinging low, Wes would lose the hand as he attacking from outside swinging in and Luy was already swinging up. Wes is essentially moving his arm into the attack. The attack was done last round, Sangga was just describing the hit in this post as it wasn't defended against.

As a second point, the Admins have recently touched on such timings of attack in a recent PvP announcement. Here is a quote from there:

"
On the one hand, the split second timing and hyper-realism doesn't not seem to have carried over into the precision of combat. Just because you write that your hit will land when it is absolutely most advantageous to you, doesn't mean that that will actually happen. In combat, fine motor skills aren't nearly so fine and just because it can be done on the gun range doesn't mean it will always be so flawlessly executed with your adrenaline pumping. Just because you say your attack will land the instant your opponent's misses so they have 0 seconds to react... doesn't mean you have that level of precision."

I agree with the admin quote!

However, I did defend against Sangga's attack by pivoting away from the swipe when it came. That would place Wes at Luy's right side, swiping from Luy's front to his back.

In your last post, you say Wes is attacking the instant Luy's blade is thigh high level, which means Wes is already pivoted. There was still no clear defense statement of the attack in your previous post.

Obviously, I am just stating my is perspective based on what I read and my conversation with Sangga. If @Sangga wants to chime in, that's cool to. If it comes to it, you can always report the post for an admin ruling.
