sure. and time lapse for action. by the time varus takes the second two shots luy has already moved and wes is anticipated to fill the spot... that is why the shots are made to be a bit leading along his directional path of motion.

thank you!

omg.....

To touch on the second post, it was my understanding/interpretation that Luy is passing behind Wes and moving toward Doz. Firing to Varus' right would actually be firing at Luy much more so than leading to the left.

but it IS Wes' right....and the left you are leading to is Varus' which is Wes' right...

I have to stop looking at this. I won't know my own name in a minute! lol

I sort of agree with this as well, but will take the hits since technically we should have mentioned this when Raydo made the post

Any updates on the ruling?

It's been a while so I just wanted to make sure the report actually went though LOL

I believe the Admins will post here when they come up with something.

I know, just wanted to make sure the post actually got reported—computers mess up sometimes.

Oh, I know a report was submitted because I was contacted to delete my post until after the review comes.

Admin Ruling: The strike hits the gauntlet and will not be good for another strike, but it does not sever the arm. The blade skids along the gauntlet, redirecting, and grazing the upper arm.

@Sangga has 24 hours to edit his autohit to fit the above mentioned narrative/damages and to react. @Raydo also has that window to post.

@vamp @Kayenta Moenkopi Your turn begins on the timestamp of @Sangga or @Raydo informing you with a post in the OOC that they have both completed their edits/posts within the 24 hour period.

Additional Notes: I think there may be some confusion about how autohits work. If an attack isn't defended against it's considered a hit, this is true, but the damage is still limited by where the original attack was aimed, it’s not an opportunity for a new attack to be written. If the original attack was aimed to hit an armored area of the body (which you both seem to agree on in the OOC), it'll still hit the armored area. While in this case it will shatter the armor after the hit, it's not going to cut off the arm, but likely would cause some sort of damage to the arm.

@Arclight

Thank you! One more thing--does the attack (horizontal slash directed at Luy's thighs) land?

I have made my edits. I hope they are alright, I am doing this between ending work and going to another RPG. Apologies.

As of now, yes.

When Wes fired the blaster, he was closer to Luy

The map I had worked on before seeing your updated was essentially the same so good to see we are on the same page there : )

Unfortunately, I do have some issues with Wes' actions. I think the actual damage he received is being underestimated by a fair amount. He has taken a 1 glancing shot to the right arm, a glancing blow from a lightsaber on his right forearm, a direct hit from a blaster in the back and a direct hit from a blaster in the side.

I tried to find an example of what kind of damage even getting knicked with a lightsaber, and the first example I found was the Obi-Wan/Anakin vs. Dooku on Geonosis. Obi-Wan actually takes two minor wounds from a lightsaber but is basically incapacitated. He has to struggle to even use the Force to pull his lightsaber to him. I think Wes' contact is more minor than this, but even the slightest contact with a lightsaber is going to cause a lot of pain and make concentration difficult.

Next, I want to admit an error on my part in not indicating which of Varus' weapons he was using. While in this case, it doesn't change the outcome, I should have made that clear. I know the picture I have in my head and forgot to add that detail in so I apologize for that. Regardless, all of Varus' weapons deal medium damage per the tech rules. Below I have included a quote from the tech rules on Medium damage blasters. Even a glancing blow from this is going to cause a good deal of pain and some damage, combined with the pain from the lightsaber, it seems likely the arm would not be of much use without Medical attention and would make it very difficult to retain focus enough to draw on the force.

The two direct hits, especially in unarmored areas would deal with significant damage and make any type of movement likely impossible. More likely, Wes would be unconscious from such a sudden amount of pain and physical damage and in a near death state.

Medium: This damage type is the most common, and represents most blaster weapons and equivalents. Direct hits to sensitive areas are often fatal, and even glancing blows to limbs can cause moderate injury consisting of large burns, bleeding, and intense pain. Prompt medical attention is usually enough to save someone from the damage caused by these weapons, but multiple unprotected strikes are often fatal.

I agree with all parts, though I don't think the lightsaber would do that much damage, not that it matters. I'll edit my post accordingly.

Wes is now knocked out. I hope you can find some mercy in your heart not to shoot a man when he's down LOL
