Presidents always pardon people charged with ridiculously extreme offenses on their last days in office.

This fact, I hate with a passion.

I'd make an informed statement, but that's a clearly unobjective source based on how it was written. At this time in the last days of their administration, Presidents typically pardon people who they feel have legitimately repented or served enough time for their crime, and who can receive legitimate forgiveness based on their actions in prison or what have you. It's not until the last few days that they start issuing political pardons.

In France, the President pardons people who committed minor infractions.

Like speeding etc.

Killing three bald eagle deserves a jail sentence and a kick in the face.

Again, you don't know all of the information, because the news sourcing aren't giving many details about the details of the pardons.

And also keep in mind that this guy has been in prison for 12 years.

I don't think the President should be putting maniacs on the streets like that. The law is the law, and this pardon thing is obviously an archaic tradition that has no place in modern society.

I don't recall seeing anything that said he was a certified maniac.

How often do you go on bald eagle killing sprees?

Every Tuesday, actually. I just got back from one a few hours ago. I didn't get a chance to kill any today, but I had fun all the same.

On Thursday I'm leaving for a polar bear hunt.

Clinton pardoned this person.

Peggy Ann Bargon (Violation of the Lacey Act, violation of the Bald Eagle Protection Act)

The guy is out of office in two months, just leave him alone now.

I'm pretty sure this makes you a maniac.
... Yes because he used pesticides which were harmful to Bald Eagles.

Leslie Owen Collier of Charleston, Mo., who pleaded guilty in 1995 to unlawfully killing three bald eagles in southeast Missouri. He improperly used pesticide in hamburger meat to kill coyotes, but ended up killing many other animals, including the bald eagles. Collier, who was convicted for unauthorized use of a pesticide and violating the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act, was sentenced Feb. 2, 1996 in the Eastern District of Missouri.

Not a maniac, just a farmer who had a bad idea.

They're the national bird and endangered. Illegality of killing them seems reasonable.

Bloody hell, 12 years for an accident

Bit harsh, full credit to Bush.

Exactely, if he had shot them or something then it would be a different story. I read up on him, he was trying to kill Coyotes that would come and kill his chickens. He is just a guy try to protect his income and he messed up, twelve years was way too harsh for that.
