I must say from everything shown, it looks to be interesting. It's hard to tell from one 16 second teaser trailer anything about what the series is truly going to bring. Only time will tell, hopefully they don't muddle things up even more. I do look forward to seeing what happens to all the clones post Ep III.

I never liked Ashoka. Yeah, there was character growth, but she still screamed PLOTHOLE and CONTINUTITY ERROR to me. Because you'd imagine that Anakin'd mention his run-away Padawan at least once as parts of the reason why he'd want more power and stuff, but nope. Not a thing. (I know this is because Episode III came out before The Clone Wars, of course, but still.)

To me, the Clone Wars would have been brilliant if they'd focused much more on the Clones, and let the Jedi fall a bit to the side, but that's just my opinion.

I agree. I would like to see more of the clone side of things. Less Jedi. Hell, could even introduce a new Jedi that won't harm continuity to go with them (Ahsoka could have filled the spot, if she hadn't been tied to the Chosen One), that serves as a Jedi perspective, but not the main focus either. I think that was one of the (many) problems of the show: too much Jedi. Specifically, redoing everything about the Jedi characters. Killing people who died elsewhere, too many needless plots that went no where and weren't that good, etc. Now the clones had their problems and faults, but I think the show could have done better if the clones had been the focus. Hell, while many criticized Traviss for her Mandalorian culture Lucasism (aka changing stuff to meet her needs), from what I've heard, many people liked her Republic Commando books because it focused on the clones rather than the Jedi. Granted, they had some Jedi, but it was the Jedi were there serving as a part of advancing story arcs and as a side to the clones, rather than "follow me, do what I say, and serve as meat shields while I do fancy needless maneuvers with my shiney lightstick".

Is it strange that I find plotholes or continuity errors like that to be not that big a deal?
I only find them annoying when they're really obvious, as in you realize it while watching it for the first time.

They're shitty Prequels, not Charles X. Granted, I'm right there with you that this is probably going to be mediocre at best, but roughly acknowledging stuff that did indeed happen (and let's not forget that diagetically this can mean a whole lotta different things, since different characters see different things differently --we could just Rashomon a lot of the bad shit out, if we did even address a tenth of a percent of it, since it's not really salient) is not gonna make or break this.

For me, the wider issue would be if the Prequels were threatening to supplant the Original Trilogy in public memory, and thus making it harder to market and create properties based on that ethos and time. But since that looks unlikely, given how hard Disney is hitting the Episode VII button, I don't really see the issue.

I mean, I do get the feeling behind it, but honestly, I think there are better things for us to worry about.

I'll stick to my completely subjective opinion, cheerskthnxbai.

Euh...

I pray that this won't be done in the Disney cartoon/show/movie on Disney Channel/Disney xD style.

Lame jokes, lots of screaming and explosions that are supposed to be funny... Too much slapstick humor...

If the announcer's voice is anything to judge it by...

"It's designed for kids" isn't entirely accurate. I’m sure it’ll be accessible to kids, like the original trilogy was, but all public indications so far point to the show being made like the original trilogy and how it appealed to everyone. It's a departure from the prequel era; even Dave Filoni prefers the original trilogy era to the prequel era. When the creative team - Filoni, Simon Kinberg, and Greg Weisman - sat down to decide what kind of show they wanted to do, they all immediately honed in on a Rebellion concept because they all grew up loving the original trilogy.

The fact that it's on Disney XD screams out to me that it's designed for kids. Yes, yes, I know that is very close-minded thinking, but honestly, they wouldn't put something on any Disney channel that isn't meant for kids. The Clone Wars was alright, aside from Ahsoka who was more than alright in my opinion, but it was still designed for kids, giving it limited opportunities to appeal to those older than 11 or 12, like you and myself. I don't really think a show like this belongs in the same series as a guy who likes to mindlessly kill kids to "save his wife."

Yeah, a show for kids with killing and murder and slavery.

What does the announcer's voice have to do with anything? I mean, it's just an announcer.

There is a panel at NYCC Saturday all about Rebels. The SW twitter went from 'Come to our panel!' to 'Beware Imperial Propaganda!' to 'DON'T COME TO THE PANEL, THE IMPS ARE HERE' and that just makes me stupid excited because Imperial Propaganda and the Rebel Alliance and pilots and ships and and and

I'm still crossing my fingers for baby Wedge and Hobbie and Jansen and maybe even some Imperial Propaganda featuring the young Garik Loran and oh goodness me I cannot WAIT until Saturday when we get some news! They did mention once that names like that and Porkins have been tosses around. :D

The teaser does make me raise an eyebrow because of all the references to the Jedi and the Force, but I am confident that the people who are making the show are going to do amazing work with it. They seem very passionate about it.

Also, rumors of Steve Blum in it. /fans self

Because that voice is hot. That raspy growl /swoon Also, Jame from Megas XLR was the best.

I will/should be live tweeting the Rebels panel on Saturday. You can follow it here: http://twitter.com/StarWarsFanWiki

I will totally be watching! I have a friend that is going to it as well. If you get any of that propaganda, I will pay real American dollars for it.

Everyone forgets Disney made Pirates of the Caribbean... That was pretty mature for a 'kid friendly' company!

I've been a fan of that film franchise ever since I saw Johnny Depp come to port royal in a sinking boat.

We would all like to hope that Disney doesn't do anything to tarnish star wars anymore than what's already been done.

*facepalm* Yes, yes, I know that. They also made the Avengers, and that was amazing as well.

But everything they make on Disney XD is usually very kid based.

Even though the people attached to the project aren't the best, I am excited to watch the series. Too bad it's not on Cartoon Network, I will have to pirate the series. Should not have put it on Disney XD.

Disney made John Carter, so I'm not that worried about a lack of maturity.

Idunno. I feel like Cartoon Network had a more diverse audience than Disney XD. If you think about it, The Clone Wars (Which had violence, terrorism, torture, and all that fun stuff) was aired really close to the Adult Swim lineup, it was kind of a buffer between the two.
