Because the Rebels are technically Imperials who don't want to be an empire

They don't want to give much away, and talking about what the Rebels are like starts to give stuff away. That's unlike the Empire, which doesn't need much explanation, has iconic imagery, and can draw people into the show.

Exactly this. The Star Destroyer coming out over the top of the screen is an obvious nod to New Hope. The Stormtroopers are iconic bad guys who cant shoot straight. TIE Fighters and that distinctive ion whine. The Empire is loaded with iconic visuals and sounds to draw people in, it's a perfect way to get people into the show (especially the original trilogy fans) without revealing everything they've got up their sleeves.

I went to New York with Wikia. You know, where I work. Rebels is only one of the things I did. It just so happens to be the only thing relevant to this website.

So jealous of your job right now!

I, for one, am excited about everything they showed and everything will be able to show in the upcoming months. The fact the show dates 14 years after Episode III is really exciting and I'm looking forward to the characters they will be bringing to life.

I really hope we see a lot of the Rebels we've met in the OT!

The whole idea about showing the Empire and all the propaganda that goes along with it is what I'm REALLY excited about. I've been a fan of the Imperial Lifestyle and all the propaganda that goes into it for a few years now and I cannot wait to see more!

I know the guys doing the show are super passionate about it. It's going to be great.
