Hmm. What if it has a tiered warhead system? It launches a penetration slug. The front, upon contact with the shield, will direct radiation into the shield and locally disabling it. The warhead would then hit the ship, breaking inside before exploding.

Droid Piloted Fighters, with one Ion cannon instead of its usual weapons. Fires the cannon seconds before impacting with the bridge of a ship, thus disabling the shield, then hitting his with a star-ship.

How about a Gamma Ray canon. It would fire a massive stellar level beam. In a senses dumping the ships entire energy level dedicated to weapons in to a single beam with a 10sec burst time. The burst does not have enough power to penetrate atmosphere of a planet. Though it would leave a lot of radiation damage and effect the climate.

It space vs ships it tends to quickly over load shields with one hit but tends not to destroy the thick armour of war ships. It does cause interference with systems and will wreck any thing not under the armour.

My idea is that the weapon weaken the ship to make it easy for the guns to kill.

"Smart torpedoes/missiles" would be an interesting thing to see.

Once Ugniss has the production facilities for it, he can always try a proto-type!

The Tiered Warhead sounds best option in my opinion, especially if fired from a rail gun.

What about a ripper or disrupted style starship scale weapon? Maybe wrapped in ion instead of typical blaster energy? Mind you, my technical and scientific expertise is pretty much limited to "that looks cool"

Hmm. Maybe. Although to be fair I don't really know the specifics behind the rippers.

Specifics I mean. Cannon rippers have tacit approvalagain, but the Wookie entry is a little short on technical details. The original small arms for the Mando faction were basically energy coated slugs ala bowcasters, at least before they started getting out of hand.

Well I assume the concept just involves carrying a slug out of a barrel cocooned in the plasma of a blaster bolt. Maybe have something similar but with highly charged gas?

It's official! An idea from here has become an approved tech piece!

Also, idea, well a stolen idea but an idea nonetheless.

You know in Batman Begins how they made his cape out of that neat ass material that is normally hard and rigid but when a current is shifted through it, it suddenly became a rigid shape?

Do you guys think that kinds of relatively harmless stuff would fly here? Because that coupled with the recently approved wing-pack would go a long way.

Hmm. Maybe. You should probably ask Clayton.

Hey, what do you guys think about an idea for a Man-Portable Proton Torpedo Tube? Like a bazooka that shoots proton torpedos of a portable size. It'd be like a guided anti-vehicle weapon of a different flavour, with the advantages of proton torpedos over concussion missiles and stuff.

Maybe? I mean, the physics would probably differ from land to space, and it may not be viable for ground troops due to the size.

Perhaps. I was going on the idea that the mechanics behind it, even if miniaturised, would still be effective to at least a fraction of normal fighter-mounted loads.

But what would make them better on this scale than other types of missiles
