As his brothers bickered and fought, Ja's sleeping form lay silent as his creations continued to multiply. Their etherial forms began to expand throughout the villages of Fath, granting the humans the joy of sleep. While his physical form slept, his spirit thrived in an unknown realm; a ream filled with fogs and soft grounds. His spirit, retaining the look of his physical form, played the hybrid instrument. Many humans were graced enough to be granted the chance to see beyond the unreality and understand Ja's words. The god of dreams sat below a gigantic willow tree, it's leaves and branches full.

"Humans; I have brought you before me with words of wisdom. I have granted each and every one of you the chance to see happiness, unreality. However, I have not been given anything in return. I have no followers, only those who praise. If you want me to continue to make your people happy, you must make an altar; a place where I may be worshipped and where I may sleep. As the years will pass, your civilizations will grow; and many will grow doubt about my existance. Hence, I shall draw forth a set of commandments. Each of you; your eldest child shall enter this place and he shall pass on the commandments as your villages grow. I have spoken."

And in an instant, the humans disappeared; the message sent. With the humans gone, his creations sprang forth.

"My children. From my body I created four of you; and the four of you have grown into many. In fact, as your numbers continue to grow, you will no longer be restricted to these lands. As you grow, you must spread your influence to the other humans of this land; show them the dream."

And as soon as the humans disappeared, the Loes followed.

Father Time frowned as he looked down on his son Dagaia, his humble self not seeking, only recieving. And so the Father of All gave thought to the Earth itself, and understood his son's purpose.

"Dagaia, my son. I admire your humble self. And in doing so, I give you stead over the Earth itself. For it may come to pass that the Earth will have a will of it's own, and lash back against those who walk upon it. But remember also, that rock and ground is long of life, and so slow to action. It may take eons before a rock chooses to break in two. You must understand and respect this son, but I trust your willing heart, and I believe solemnly that you will learn most quickly. So, go forth! and become one with my gift to you."

And then Father Time looked towards both Noctem and Fenix, and smiled. And with but a single gesture, they both knew in their hearts, that he would always be there to guide them from afar, and that a farewell, this was not. And they knew that they had their father's blessing.

With a great cry, the naked Elendur took form once more, slipping into the most humblest of garments: the wizened human male, hunched back and weathered face. For such grief did Elendur feel, though the ever-piercing emerald gleam of his eyes shone all the more brightly, even through the clouds of disease and old age. And bringing forth his staff, the god leant on it, as the burden of the conflict bore down on his shoulders. The Gods were not being harmed by this battle, not in the least. But nature? Nature suffered casualties innumerous. Regardless, the Lord of Nature placed himself in the midst of this ring of gods, and all ceased as he stood between them all. Even as he spoke, the earth, freshly thrown up and bare of all life, a brown, lifeless patch of dirt, began to change, as mosses and vines and numerous grasses and flowers grew forth from between the man's unshod toes, and the mound slowly healed.

"Do you not know, not understand yet? We are bu yet young and strong...and we are all evenly matched. One god cannot kill another, not alone, not together. In doing so, all we do is destroy the ground we do battle on. Surely even you, brother Daedules, can respect that battle cannot be fought on ground that does not exist."

The wizened man took a deep breath, filling his lungs with the fresh air that suddenly wove through the trees and grasses, and into his lungs. And so it appeared that the god smiled, and his smile, no matter how brief, stole those weathered years away, and the divine lord of all things good and growing stood proud and tall, atop his green mound in this circle of gods.

"If we were meant to struggle with ourselves, would we have been given such power soas to create life? I say no to this. I say: let the lesser beings struggle for us. And so our weapons will not be in our hands, but in the hands of our own children. And if we wish, we may command them to do war. But no longer can we fight amongst each other, for if we do, there will be no Earth to seek dominion o'er when the end of ends comes to us."

* * *

High above, in the heavenly Dreamscape, Father Time smiled.

Azumin let out a sigh of releif as Mephisto went to investigate the battle of the petty gods. He turned back to his race. They were safe again... for now. He hoped that by not getting involved, other gods would not notice him, and his people.

Noctem arrived on the earth shortly after his moment with his creator, leaving the sky behind him the colors of dusk. Coming to a stop over a small, rounded-off mountain range surrounded by forests of dead and semi-living trees, he glared at the environment. His face let out a yellow glow as he thought about his next move.

"What to do, what to do... So little time, so much to pursue..."

The pumpkin-headed god of tiny proportions spoke in rhymes and riddles most of the time, with the exception of speaking to his father. Noctem giggled a bit, and then his face glowed even brighter.

"Ah, yes, an idea! My mind flies like a dove! I will create people, and me they shall love! With a tweak over here, and a tweak over there, I shall create eyes, from which they will stare. And from the bountiful harvest, of pumpkins and squash, I make them a body, that which they can wash. And from the leaves of the trees, and husks from the corn, I'll give them all clothes, so they may be torn."

With a few flicks from his wrists, and a flash from his face, he created the people that would follow him forever. He created the Spookies, and spooky they were. At once, they decided to start making shelters and planting their food sources.

The odd thing about this land was that it was autumn, while the rest of the world was not. This bizarre place only intrigued Noctem farther, since it suited his appearance, and his people's appearances. The air was cool, but not cold enough to bother anyone. As Noctem walked into one of the towns that already seemed to be doing well, the smells of cinnamon and other spices, apples, and various pumpkin dishes flowed into his nose (well, nose hole). His face glowed a bit, as he giggled again.

"Yes, my friends, work. Work, work indeed. For I too have hunger. I too have needs. If you respect my presence, then that would be dandy. So supply me with food, and supply me with candy!"

And so the Spookies went to work, and planted their crops, and started making all kinds of delectable delights for their god. He didn't seem TOO demanding: All he wanted was food and sweets.

*As Fenix soared through the skies as this was a power of god, he saw his brothers afar fighting amongst each other. However, he could already tell what it was going to lead to as he went around them and went to a pre-destined spot as he had picked it from his balcony at the home of gods not so long ago. It was within his dreams and with the aid of Father Time that had helped him locate this place.

The terrain was rugged, yet filled with minerals and ores of Fenix's choice as he would go deep into the mountains, creating a race unlike any other god had created, and they would be as strong as the God of War, smart as the God of Wisdom and Illusions, and mysterious as the God of Fate. He would look over this race like a father to a son as Father Time did unto him as it was foretold within destiny.

This was the ideal place of forgeworks and fire, for all the needed materials were within a hand's grasp. Metal for the taking and infusing of materials to create weapons of undeniable strength, wood for fires to start the forges, and most importantly...caves so that the hidden races would be not located easily...except to those whom already knew where they were.*

Tarikor approached his father he had seen some of his brothers go to earth before him he had seen how some of them were filled with the desire of power and destruction or war. Tarikor would be one of the few neutral gods. the god of healing and commerce he however approved of his brother Abu-kresh who tarikor thought was a good god. not like some of his more warmongoring bothers. Setting his thoughts aside it was time to enter earth and start his kingdom. Tarikor walked up to his father and kneeled.

''Father i wish to be granted the power of healing and commerce. I wish to rule my realm with the power of commerce and healing. my people will be the masters of import and export and will flourish if they pray to me as i will share my knowledge of trading with them.''

Tengri descended upon the crowd of arguing gods. He was invisible for the moment as his skin was matching its backround. With no other apparel, he was completely undetectable. However, there was one who would probably know he was there, Father Time. Since Father Time made Tengri with those powers, Father Time should have known that if Tengri wanted to, he could act as a god of deception even without that as his title.

So Tengri wandered listening in on fights and arguements about various things. He was already done creating his first batch of his people. Since he created them at breeding age, they would be able to quickly populate the land and control it within a few years.

Father Time frowned, and his presence drew closer to Tarikor, almost as if he had a solid form, he were bending down to look his son in the eye.

"You request a domain that is seemingly simple, my child, but you recognize not the depth to which such powers go. To control commerce and healing simultaneously is a great responsibility indeed. For you enter a realm on the brink of war, and with war comes not only death, but injury also, and I speak not only of those who fight. For every creature on Earth will be vulnerable to harm. Therefore, the healing of these creatures, by war, by the struggle for survival, and by daily wear and tear, will be in your hands.

"And commerce? You seem to believe you may contain such a thing to only your people, my son. But such is not so. For you will be responsible for the safe trade and transport of all tradeables. From the fruit in the local marketplace to ships carrying marble or gold, you will be responsible for their safe travel. Be sure that such responsibility is safe in your hands, otherwise choose another domain. Do you believe yourself ready for such burdens?"

As he spoke, Father Time felt the presence of his son Elendur speaking, and he frowned once more, though this time in thought. For it came to mind that his son had no people of his own, and that he would therefore be unable to participate in the battles, or that he would even be unable to defend nature, save by his own hand. And then he smiled, for his thought had manifested itself. Elendur would recieve a boon like no other. The defiling of nature would be most unwise, once Elendur became aware of the creatures that would serve him.

Iach smiled as more of his brethren showed themselves, and he knew that they were against Daedalus and Kaba'al's ruthless nature. His need for a fair battle was satisfied until his brother Elendur revealed himself again and spoke wise words.

"Our brother speaks wisely! Why must we destroy ourselves? Creations of our own can do battle with each other! On the Earthen Battle Fields shall be where our contests held! What say you, Daedalus? Kaba'al? Art thou prepared for a just fight between mortals to decide which of us is the better?"

"I've got a better idea. You stop trying to back out of a fight, and then my race will exterminate your race."

Kaba'al laughed loudly, a fiendish laugh that hinted at his malice and perhaps mental instability. He reveled in the strife he was causing for a brief moment, then clashed his two axes together again, causing blood to spurt from their edges. He stood in a combat ready stance as bones, tissue, and bodily fluids pooled beneath him and began trickling towards the other gods.

"C'mon! Don't be scared!"

Elendur closed his eyes, searching for an answer that would goad his brother into agreement. One such as Kaba'al would not be persuaded through might of force or logic, he thought, only by accepting a deal that would somehow benefit him, or satisfy him in some way. And there lay the answer.

"Kaba'al...I have none to call my own, for nature itself is my domain...but agree to this, and your lust for violence will have a manifestation. I will create a race that even you will have trouble creating fear over, a...challenge to your own powers, if you will. And if you cannot cause them to flinch in fear, then your axes will most certainly have bodies to feed on, if you are able to. Just because I said we may not battle each other directly does not mean you cannot lead your own into battle."

Elendur gave a strange smile then, crossing his usually stern face and looking quite out of place, so filled with arrogance and taunting.

"It'll be fun..."

Kaba'al lowered his axes slightly, and only for a moment. A race he couldn't instill fear in or kill? Elendur was barking up the wrong tree, but if he wanted to lose a bet, then Kaba'al was all for it. If he'd had eyes, they would've narrowed to slits as he (would have) been looking very skeptically towards Elendur.

"And if I can make them fear me...?"

Clearly he was expecting some sort of prize for being able to complete such a challenge. And everyone who knew Kaba'al even a little bit probably guessed that the stakes would have to be quite profitable for him to accept.

Elendur had piqued his borther's interest. That in itself was half the battle won. For bhind his hideous exterior and violent nature, Kaba'al was as naive and foolish as any of the other gods. Elendur could see it in his own self already, so unknowing of the world, yet in charge of controlling it. All of the Gods suffered from naivete, to at least a certain extent, and that was understandable. However, in realizing both his own naivete - and his brothers - Elendur could exploit that, to a certain extent. Kaba'al would not suspect such a thing from the ever kind and ever peaceful Elendur, whose own naivete came from his faith in the good of all creatures, even those created only for the doing of evil.

"If you can make them fear you, and not just a bit scared, but true horror, that causes them to drop everything, abandon their bonds of kinship and lose themselves to their fear, then they will be yours, and you may use my own creations against me. For know that the death of the Divine lies not in their brothers' hands, but in the hands of mere mortals. The only way you may achieve victory is by using your own creaitons to kill the other gods.

"But there will be something else in defeating my creations, something you will not expect, but will nevertheless enjoy. The Divinity you lost when you created your own creatures may return, indeed enough so that you may take war to Father Time himself, if you so wish. You could seek dominion not only of the Earth, but of the Infinate Void also, going from world to world and enslaving all that you come across."

It was strange, Elendur thought, as such notions had never come to his mind until now. It seemed he was getting some help in persuading his brother. Elendur silently thanked them, then met his brother's gaze, his emerald green eyes seeming to pierce through the flesh and gore, strip it away, and bare Kaba'als very divine essence for all to see. He would not appear weak in front of such crude and senseless violence. Had Elendur himself chosen to delve into fear, he would have chosen the subtle gnawing, rather than the violent shock. The former wasted the will of the spirit much more readily.

Kaba'al was interested, he couldn't deny that. The idea of being able to traverse worlds and enslave people as he went was very tempting. Then again, why couldn't he do that already? He was a god, capable of many great deeds. Kaba'al, despite being a stubborn brute, was not stupid. He'd heard Elendur's words, and though he liked where this was heading, he did not want to be conned out of battle.

"Your speech is filled with "maybes" and "coulds". I want a definite guarantee. If I can give them true fear, if I can reduce them to the basest and maddest urges, then you, Elendur, will give me your power. Not maybe, not could, but will. And if any of these other fools..."

He waved an axe at the array of gods before him.

"... dare help you, then they too must give me all of their power. This is the deal. If you do not accept, then prepare for battle."

It wasn't a fair deal, and Kaba'al knew it. But that didn't matter. If they didn't accept it, he'd just kill all of them. If they did... well, then they were even greater fools than he'd thought.

Tengri watched Kaba'al threaten all of the gods with death and destruction. It was interesting to see him so violent and with so much confidence in his ability to take down all of the gods. Tengri wasn't really worried at all as he was invisible and would be undectable by any except Ellendur. Also, with some of his abilities, he could do all sorts of things to confuse and bewilder Kaba'al before he would bring out his real weapons

While his brothers bickered, Ja slept on; awaiting within the dream realm till he can wake again. Ja had decided to remain away from the war his brothers raged; allowing time for his people to evolve and become stronger. With the happiness of the dream, the people of Fath began to flourish; the lifted spirits helping the villages. The group of villagers whom he brought into his personal realm spread his name, his influence rooting within the villagers.

Ja's new bed, a somewhat large altar was crafted in the largest of villages within Fath; where the villagers began to worship the god who brought them dream.

Elendur smiled, oddly enough. It seemed he was on the bad side of the deal, yet he smiled nonetheless. Apparently there was something in the deal worth smiling about.

"So be it. However, if my brothers and sisters choose to aid me, their divinity will be forfeit on the destruction of their races, and only then. We'll make it a way to make sure you hunt after me primarily."

OOC: Shit post, but I didn't have much else to write.

Noctem chose to take a distance from the quarrel among his brothers. His peaceful, spooky people were not the type to want to get involved in fights. They may pull the occasional prank on unsuspecting travelers, but they never wanted to hurt anyone.

Noctem looked out of his spooky palace on the spooky hill that he resided on. He thought for a moment, maybe two. Then he decided he should take a temporary leave.

"Fellow girls, and fellow boys, I must go and take my voice. To stop a fight is all I wish, so I'll return to feast on fish."

Noctem took off into the ever-expanding twilit sky. His brothers came into view as he skimmed the outer area of the argument. He conjured a megaphone (loud pranks are often funny, but this time he wasn't joking), and shouted into it his words of rhyme.

"Brothers here and brothers there, can't you see this moment rare? Arguing is not the way, because alive you may not stay. I bring you peace, and then I run. Can't we all just have some fun?"

Noctem giggled a bit, and then slowly floated backwards.

Not one to react on a large scale, Death had simply watched, and listened as his brothers argued. He had gazed on quietly as Elendur tricked and taunted Kaba'al. His scythe twirling slowy in his long, thin fingers, he simply took in what was happening.

As the small, odd looking god of what Death could only assume was some form of trickery spoke, it elicited a response from Death, which in itself was rare.

Turning slowly to face the tiny God ((Please correct me if i'm wrong, but I imagined Death to be somewhat larger, is all.)) Death gave him a thoroughly quizzical look. Had he eyebrows, one of them would be raised.

The little God is wrong. Death's 'voice' rang out, unaided by technology, or by magic. There must be war. Every being has it's time, even we Gods.

Death cast his gaze around the assembled Gods. His height, and the fact he floated a few feet above the ground meant that he could see just about ever God present.

I will not enter this war, unless provoked. Know this, though. There is no force more ultimate than that which I command. To raise the ire of Death, to invoke my wrath, is to bring death upon yourselves.

His short monologue over, Death allowed his attention to wander.

Azumin looked down upon the world from a great height, watching the battle of his petty bretheren. Their foolish arguements did not concern him. He would help neither side. He instead turned his attention to the people of the planet, admiring the handiwork of the other gods. He took especial interest in the pumpkin people, examining them closely. His brother god had done well here. He smiled, and returned to his shack beneath the waterfall...
