"AAAAAAh! I'm on fire!"

The kid, as soon as the flames began to flicker against her skin, collapsed into the wet mud and began to furiously roll around in it. Within moments she was caked in the substance, but it quelled the fire before it could burn welts into her skin. The rolling combined with the sudden shock of cold water being thrown over her doused the flames. By the time she rolled back onto her feet, the fire had spread across the entire campsite, and chaos had erupted between the other padawans and the attacking creatures. Wordlessly, Maura accepted the water bottles from @Clove Vanhoop and quickly uncapped them to pour on the nearby fire. The heat and the smoke disorientated the child, but she had enough wits about her to duck and weave her way around the fire and to the cottage wagon.

"Everyone stop!"

Maura froze, snapped her attention to Kalam, then watched as half of everyone raced off into the swamp after the snakes. 'What is going on?' She continued to scamper her way over toward the wagon and entered just as Grem burst through the door. She dove to the side to avoid him, and watched with a sparkle in her eye as he barged ice and water over the flaming clearing. When he asked what had happened though, Maura began to scoot to the side, hoping he wouldn't be all too mad.

Toki's heart sank at the sheer disapproval in Elidan's voice. He paused, and remembered that his usual calculating demeanor made him somewhat unpopular among his peers when he was younger. They accused him of always taking the moral high ground, or at the least, being boring to be around because of his tendency to take things slow and carefully. They said that he didn't have any emotional attachment to anything because he always responded to hardship by making a plan and not immediately jumping into a situation. They were wrong on that front. He cared. He cared deeply, but he struggled to show it. Zana's situation broke his heart, but he knew that if they didn't get the whole picture they may only end up making the situation worse for her. Regardless, he needed to push forward and figure things out here so he can support everyone.

Toki gently stepped out of the way as Grem barreled his way into the caravan to search for something. Being called 'bunny boy' was amusing, and he didn't bother to get upset over something so minor. He watched as he knocked and tried to commit the strange knocking pattern to memory, but worried he may not get it quite right if he attempted it again. Either way, he looked at the strange egg that came out from the trap door. Suddenly his theory of this being the snake beings' child started to wane. There was a chilling, sinister air about it. It pulsed with dark and unnerving energies that only reminded him of the Dark Side.

He stepped aside once again when Grem took a different potion and used its contents to blew out an icy wind that slowly dissipated the flames. He breathed a sigh of relief when the flames were truly gone and approached Grem. He elected not to implicate Maura in any of this, as he felt the poor child had gone through enough. "Grem...I need you to tell us what exactly is going on. Who are those snake people, and what do they want with this...egg that you have? What exactly is this egg?" He still wondered if Grem was at all heroic, or if he wanted the egg for his own ends...or was being enticed by its corruption. "After the attack, one of our friends was taken by them and we need to figure out how we're going to rescue her. The rest of our group went on ahead, and I worry for their safety in the swamps. They're leaving a trail for us to follow when we're ready. Whatever's going on, we need to figure out a plan together if we have any hope of helping everyone." He said. He honestly didn't expect this to go the way it had...and his mind raced with too many potential outcomes to this that it almost made him sick to his stomach. Regardless, he steeled himself. He had to do everything he could for those who needed help, Zana most of all.
