I would recommend making a character. There's still time to do things. And it gets you into the swing of things when the new timeline arrives. It, like winter, is coming. But not yet.So... should I not make a character right now if the timeline is gonna change? I'm new and all and I'd feel pretty bummed if I had to give up a character I worked hard on JUST now. D:
Do we have an exact date in which we can expect the change to occur?
Probably January.Do we have a general timeframe of when this transfer will happen? I'm kinda regretting hanging up my boots so early on it, but just feel a lack of motivation still for it, knowing I probably won't get anything interesting going before it happens.
Okay now this question may be completely unanswerable, and i'm okay with that. But i am going to ask anyways.
For the Nexttimeline how long will it last?
If you can't answer that then answer this.
As for the past Timelines, how long were they on average? That should give me an idea.
For the first question: no idea. We don't really put arbitrary timetables onto the timelines.
As for the second question, and I can't believe I know this based on memory...
So this is our longest timeline by a lot.
- First Timeline: 11 months
- Second Timeline: 2 years, 5 months
- Third Timeline: 1 year, 6 months
- Fourth Timeline: 2 years, 4 days
- Fifth Timeline: 4 years, 4 months and counting
I'm not gonna give up on this website just because of a timeline thingy though. I'll um... um... watch n' read! And work on a practice character to prepare myself for the future! YEAH!
It seems like a common sentiment, especially among new players. It's better to get some experience in though, and get a feel for how our community and rules are, though. If you enjoy your character, you're always welcome to adjust them and transfer them to the next timeline.Sounds like I joined at a weird time. If we just started off on the forum making a character now is there no reason to start progressing (like with the Jedi)? Even if the new timeline isn't for a couple months, it seems like it would be awkward to start doing threads only to have a characters' history erased with a time jump. Or maybe I'm just reading it wrong.
Generally? Apathy. Once people got tired of a timeline we tended to end it. This is the first timeline where there's actually going to be a proper ending, whatever that ending may be.What normally heralded the end of a timeline? A faction victory?
The way I see it, and I have no authority whatsoever, I'm sure people who keep active during the last months of this timeline will be rewarded in the next. Showing activity and commitment will probably look good in terms of getting up in the ranks in the next timeline, after all, we can't have a timeline where we all start as Padawans and Acolytes, right?
