I was wondering about that! Like how are things going to work if there's no Jedi Council or anything?
There probably will be a council, or some other semi-structured leadership. There have been talks of Padawan being an optional rank, so people could hop right in to being a Knight. Also, if this carries over, you can make a Knight level character if you reached Knight with a Jedi character in this timeline.

This hasn't been decided yet, but our initial conversations had the Jedi Council as an NPC body that exists in-universe, but beyond the scope of the RP. We envision the FL-level character being a leading General-type person, rather than the leader of the Jedi Council, so if we do that then his or her inner circle would presumably be other generals and what not.

That's very interesting. Not to get all out-of-universe, but that reminds me of how the game StarCraft (just got off the game, so it's fresh in my mind) handled the Protoss; they were led by the Conclave, but you never saw them, only leadership beneath them. I think I like this...

Sort of like a Jedi High Council that governs the entire body of the Order run by NPCs, with a war council of Generals run by players that govern the military assets of the Order during wartime?

Yes, in the sense that it's entirely possible that none of those NPCs would ever be played and the Jedi Council would have no relevance to the story of the timeline. Which, again, is just me speculating at this point, but I have a hunch it will be along those lines.

So From what I am reading and have formulated is:

The Jedi are gonna be more military mind setted?

Is that safe to say @Brandon Rhea

I think he meant "General-type" as in an echelon of leadership in the Jedi Order, not that they'd be militarized. They would be high-ranked and in leadership positions, but not Councilors. At least, that's what I took from it.

If it ends up being that you can make a Knight right away if you already had a Knight in this timeline, I want to know about it! My Padawan is in the middle of training right now, and I think if I pushed really hard I could get her to be a Knight by the end of the year. So, I'd kind of like to know if I should make that a priority.

I personally like the idea of having no council at all. It would be cool for the Jedi to be in its primitive stages.

No, I legitimately meant a rank like Jedi General. All factions are going to be more combat-oriented and war-focused.

We are eliminating Padawan as an official rank (people can play them if they want) and making Knight the entry-level rank, so yes you can make a Knight right away. The way we do ranks will be a lot different next timeline.

Okay so I see were talking A lot about Jedi and all that good stuff.

But what about the Sith? Will they basically be the same or will they have there own different spin?

I know @Brandon Rhea said all factions will be more military like, so I'd assume this will also apply to the Sith. And we also know most of the action will be in the outer rim.

So what all are the Sith like, will they be more centralized, will they start with a good sized military?

(I've got a feeling you'll say something along the lines of. "In due time.")

In due time.

But we are putting a new spin on them, while still rooting it in the very fundamental philosophies and goals of the Sith. I'm really excited about the mythology we've started to develop for the Sith.

@Brandon Rhea when can we expect to know some solid information about the next timeline rather then this constant "in due time" and "coming soon" etc etc etc ?

Patience. We still have a timeline to make an epic story in.
