Trouble on Trandosha: The Leash

Operating a 'puppet government' is insufficient to secure total control over the planet. We need to ensure it is protected from possible resistance. Taking several ships worth of RN-16 Security Droids, a group of bold cartel members is to head to the planets capitol, and hand the droids to the local Hutt scion for safekeeping. Once done, you are the go further into town, and take over the local beast pits by force if necessary.

Teeka had never been to Trandosha before, nor had his tribe. Perhaps that was why he had decided to bring them with him on the exciting and not at all dangerous adventure. They'd come as a group, the Jutland Jewel only now being gently dropped off by a Y-45 Armored Transport Hauler, down onto the surface of the rugged jungle-planet. Teeka stood on the control bridge of his family's home and puffed his chest out with pride.

Another planet would now fall to the might of the Jawa!

Their screams would be as music, the terrified local populace crying for mercy as the majestic tracks of the Sandcrawler ground their pathetic villages to dust. All would pay homage to Teeka, rightful despot of Trandosha! All would be on their knees before their hooded masters, crying out for -

BANG!

The Sandcrawler juddered into life as the reactor kicked in, shaking Teeka out of his episode of tyrannic glee. He needed to focus on the mission, not his terrible visions, which he thought he ought to see someone about. He had been told to come here and meet up with one 'Preef Callo', a Rodian with quite the reputation back home. They had to ensure some ships full of droids got dropped off and then go and take over a local beast-fighting operation.

Seemed pretty simple.

He pressed the intercom on the command bridge "Ladies and Gentlemen, this is your Captain speaking; welcome to Trandosha." he informed the tribe, as the bridge crew sent the Jutland Jewel thrumming forward, crushing trees and branches as it did so, carving a neat path through the jungle, and toward the nearest down - with all the subtly of a raging bantha.

Had Preef advised the Desilijic against sending an entire Jawa clan to Trandosha? Yes, yes he had. Could anyone have foreseen the utter madness it would undoubtedly ensue when you throw them at Trandoshan warriors thrice their size? Everyone could have. Did the Desilijic care one bit about these Jawas or Trandosha? Not really.

Once the Sandcrawler hit the ground and it "banged to life" the bulk containers landed right behind it. Preef's gang, which consisted of Mandalorians and cartel enforcers that were all known gunslingers and quick-draws, used jetpacks and jetboots to get on top of the containers and unclasp the safeties. Soon enough the walls fell outward, squashing plantlife as they did, and revealed a small army of RN-16 Security Droids standing neat formations. The idea was that the sandcrawler would flatten the ground all the way to the drop-off and the droids could simply march over it without much trouble.

Preef and his men jetted over to the Sandcrawler and landed gently on top of it, just in time to hear Teeka address the rest of his clan over the intercom. "Does anyone of you speak Jawa?" the rodian asked, as he couldn't understand a word of it. Unfortunately they all shook their heads. Preef sighed, this was going to be a long day.

Reeka was hyped to say the least. The trip from Tatooine was a long one and the petite robed rodent had time to synthesize a tune to play. It would be their battle cry and could be played over the speakers of the Jutland Jewel at Captain Teeka's disgression. Reeka had already played and shared copies with their fellow Jawas and some were swaying and jumping around with head phones while others used broken droids to act as a speaker system.

The force sensitive Jawa climbed onto the roof from below decks with their converted blaster pistol in hands. Yips and hurrays were numerous as they celebrated the successful traversal of stars safely. Another planet for the Jawas to inhabit! Reeka was happy to see his people colonize new worlds, even if this one was a bit more damp than he liked.

Reeka was from Tatooine and while young and isolated from much of the galaxy's major events, they still knew who Preef Callo was. They were the Rodian in charge of their homeworld and had a bigger boss above them. Reeka marveled at how vast the trade of the Hutts must be as he watched the airborne warriors come in for a landing before him.

Hearing Preef indicate there was a language barrier they came forward. <"Wait a moment."> They realized that the Gunslinger and their people would still not understand. They hurredly waddled past the Mandalorians and Cartel enforcers until they pulled at another Jawa's pouches. He knew they had a small translator droid. Etee uwanna waa. But Neeka was not happy that Reeka had just reached before offering trade and backed away. Togo togu! Mombay m'bwa! That was Reeka's fault but they were too excited and now too proud, standing in front of the famed Preef Callo, to back down.

"Yukusu kenza keena. Ob un loo kuz atoonyoba? " He asked and pointed at the poach they had seen Neeka stow the droid in. "Shumeneez un toyneepa." They replied, making Reeka grunt and open his own pouch first to show a few credit sticks that were worth valued in the hundreds. After a few moments of haggling Neeka gave Reeka the T series translator droid.

With the translator droid in its hands, Reeka looked up at Preef and walked forward. The droid spoke for Reeka with the slightly robotic tone of the basic vocabulator. "Would you like to buy or rent this droid? This translator is worth..." Reeka paused remembering how much they had just purchased the droid for. It was based to make up for it and then turn a bit of a profit. "...four hundred credits to buy. It is less to rent." The Jawa of course had no need for the translator since it could understand galactic standard basic and Huttese fairly well.

@Nor'baal @Eccles

Rolled on potential scrap and salvage to find in this thread and rolled a T2 series tactical droid.

After hearing Teeka's speech, while the music was playing Mnee was busy leading a war chant amongst the engineers and mechanics of the tribe. Eventually the chant made its way through the jutland jewel. Happy with his work he made his way to the top. He was anxious to see this world they crossed the stars to go to.

Coming out of the hatch he looked around in awe. He had never seen so much green in his life he felt like it was all a dream. He sat down pulling out his blaster and attaching all the parts of his conversion kit on it so he was prepared incase of an emergency. He looked around the deck at the multiple different species. He would waddle up to a warrior in a suit of armor and t-visor helmet. "Go mob un loo? Yukusu kenza keena." While pointing at the warriors outfit. Pulling out various droid electrical parts and credit sticks. After a bit the warrior turns him down. Defeated he heads towards the front edge watching the foliage getting crushed. He can't help but feel as if the jawas are invading the planet. He pictures them in armor like the warrior and chuckles to himself at the thought.

Everything was in place!

However, there was still the minor difficulty that Preef Callo had no idea what any of them had been saying. Reeka and Mnee seemed to be sorting that out, and making a bit of cash for themselves in the process. This was good, Teeka thought to himself.

Preef was an interesting fellow. Famous across the galaxy for his ruthlessness in combat and his quick draw with a blaster, Teeka was pleased to have the Rodian coming along for the mission. No doubt he would soon marvel at the skill of the Jawa and the might of the Sandcrawler, which even now continued on its relentless march toward their target destination. The gentle trudging of the R-18 droids could not be heard over the roar of the engines.

Stealth.

With a coterie of Mandalorians and other such scum bringing up the rear, Teeka turned to face Preef and crossed his tiny arms. "Quite the force you've come with, Preef." he spoke in basic, eying the Rodian up and down. For all his reputation, Teeka just knew he could take him in a fight.

Not that he wanted to test that theory.

Gently he turned off Reekas music. Now was a time to focus on the music of war, the gentle rhythm of combat - the crescendo of victory. He shuffled his way around the bridge, to a weapons locker of his own design, and began to gather his gear. Two pistols, his carbine, a clutch of thermal detonators, and of course, his two blades quickly found themselves stowed about his person. However, Teeka reckoned they might come across some more....vibrant opposition.

"Hmm." he rummaged around a little more, throwing out a few items of scrap, and then finally emerging with an RPS-6 Rocket Launcher, seemingly held together by tape and looking a little tiny bit old.

This would be perfect.

"Let's get up top." he suggested to the others, moving to the door of the bridge and making his way up the fore of the top deck. Meanwhile, the Jutland Jewel had moved further through the forest, smoke billowing from its engine, and slowly arrived at the gate to the town. Entirely unsure if they were meant to be invading the down or just dropping the droids off, Teeka turned to Preef.

"Guess we drop the droids off here, then move onto the next objective?" he asked, before the sound of the gates opening heralded a change in their circumstances.

The town's gates opened to reveal a collection of some thirty attendees, carrying aloft an obese Trandoshan on a litter. He was accompanied, by way of the town walls, by a large collection of Trandoshans, all of whom levelled their weapons at the Sandcrawler. "Recognise this one?" he asked the others.

"This is Trandoshan turf, interlopers - be gone!" the obese alien shouted in a strained voice, as Teeka looked up at Preef, hoping he had some sort of witty reply.

OOC - That song is unironically a bit of a banger.

Preef rummaged in his pocket for a moment and pulled out two large credit chips worth.. 1,000 credits. Kriff, he didn't have smaller. For a moment he considered asking the Jawa for change, but then sighed and simply handed the small man the two credit chips in return for the little translator. "You jawas always rob me blind," the rodian shook his head as he said it, remembering how the Jawa's always showed up at his saloon to sell parts from the cartel Maglev trains that they had probably removed from it the night before. Scoundrels. The lot of them.

Now with the translator in hand at least he could understand whatever they were saying and... well, at some point he wished he still couldn't. It didn't help him feeling good about his recent trade when one of the little guys appraoched him and casually started talking in basic. The kriff did he just spend those thousand creds on!? Preef didn't really get a moment to reply as the Jawa then disappeared inside the crawler and returned a minute later armed to the teeth and with more of his friends.

The mission statement from the Desilijic had been straight-forward. There already was a Hutt Scion in town and they had to deliver the droids to them. Meaning there was an actual Hutt, most likely from the Desilijic Clan, Preef guessed it to be one of Nor'baal's own children. Instead when the gates opened they were greated by a rather corpulent Trandoshan who was big enough to perhaps having eaten the scion. Worst of it all he told them to 'be gone'.

"Oi Fat Lizard," Preef shouted back as he walked up to the front of the Sand Crawler so he could get a good look of all the Trandoshans and they could get a good look of him. "That is no way to talk to your new cartel rulers." as if on cue four Mandalorians engaged their jetpacks and started hovering twenty feet about the Sand Crawler, their rifles trained on the obese Trandoshan.

Mnee was enjoying the ride when they stopped in front of the city. Looking down from the top of the jewel he noticed these people were pointing guns at his home. Turning around he shouts out "Utinni!" Pointing towards the city causing the small horde of jawa gathered up top to stop their attempts of bartering and running over with various assorted weapons some no more that a powercell welded onto a rifle looking frame. Uniformly almost as if by instinct upon seeing the aggressive nature of the Trandoshans a wave of "Utinni!" cries out. The jawas all aim at the trandoshans screaming out various curses and insults in jawa trade language. This also gets the attention of the various mercs amongst the jawas and they head over peering down aswell. Mnee once again begins a chant and the jawas all join in ready to defend their home.

Reeka happily gave the miniature protocol droid over to Preef Callo. He accepted the large credit chip and was practically jumping up and down. He stopped only to smugly look towards Neeka.

The music lowered in volume slightly was a signal the sandcrawler was drawing near. The vehicle slowed to a stop and the various small robed beings drew close to the edges to see what was awaiting them beyond. An obese Trandoshan was not happy to see them and told them to leave but Preef Callo and his Mandalorians made an intimidating display. The dozens of Jawas leveled their weapons over the edge and angled them towards the reptilian guards.

"Theek hunya, theek hunya, theek hunya, THEEK HUNYA!" The ninety centimeter tall robed rodent chanted. 'Run enemies', in Jawaese would echo from the Sandcrawler. If the Trandoshans wanted to fight, they would be at the receiving end of a wall of blaster bolts. The Trandoshans did not need a translator to know what it would mean if they did not surrender.

As the assembled Jawas and their Rodian minder made their threats, the obese Trandoshan appeared to roll his eyes. He merely gestured lazily with his chubby hand, signalling for the assembled thugs to open fire at the Sandcrawler. Teeka fired his rocket launcher in retaliation as a sea of blaster bolts splashed toward their vantage point.

It smashed forwards, crashing into one of the two watchtowers on the settlement wall and seeing mortar and dust (and bits of lizard) everywhere.

But that did little to halt the enthusiasm of the enemy's fire. As the pudgy Trandoshan was rapidly shielded by his men and soon conveyed back into the town, the guards on the walls fired their rifles up, picking up Jawa where they could and swatting some of the jet-pack enabled goons from the sky.

The group of Trandoshans surged forwards, grapples in hand, as they began to throw their grapples up onto the crawler, and seek to scale it.

Mnee and his group at the edge see the trandoshans rushing the sandcrawler and focusing fire on the killing a majority before the reach the top. A handful of the group makes it to the crawler launching up and getting swarmed by vibroknife and stun blaster wielding murder jawas. Some of the unlucky invaders are stunned and fall back down the sandcrawler. A couple of jawas are kicked off by the invaders falling down to there deaths screaming. Some falling past Teeka as he sees his tribes members falling to a death he led them to. Though struggling against a few dozen crazed jawas bent on killing the invading murders theres little to be done. After repelling the assault the jawas set themselves up to continue firing at the trandoshans near the city picking off the ones in the open first.

Reeka fed off the energy of his fellow Jawas. The fat reptilian gave the silent order for the defenders to attack and Teeka's rocket seemed to signal for the Jawas to open fire in kind. "RRREEEEEEE!" Reeka aimed their converted blaster pistol over the edge, taking shots at one Trandoshan after another.

The ninety centimeter tall Jawa managed to drop two Trandoshans with his relatively long blaster rifle before the weapon glitched. Reeka swore in his native tongue as he dropped behind the edge of the Sandcrawler's roof. He ejected the remaining blaster cartridge and vented the remaining tibanna stored in the converted DE-10.

Before the tech savy Jawa could reload his weapon with one of his spare cartridges, a grappling hook arched over the edge and bonked Reeka in the head. Dropping to his hands and knees, the Jawa used one hand to rub his head as his weapon clattered to the deck of the Jutland Jewel. Reeka looked towards the grappled hook only for it to immediatly sweep back towards the edge. One of the prongs caught Reeka's leg and pulled the him with it. With a clank, the grapple hook pinned Reeka's robes against the wall.

Reeka pulled out his combat fusion cutter and hurriedly began to cut away at his robes. He needed to get back to his weapon and back to the fight. The Trandoshans could scale the edge at any moment.

45 (26-50): Barely a success. You succeed in your end goal but take some sort of negative in doing so
