Would anyone want to participate in an X-Men centric Diverse RP? The setting would be on that parallels the films where primarily mutants are the only super powered beings or superheroes and all other Marvel properties are absent (though I do like the idea of re-purposing some of them into this the story).

The setting would be as follows:
After an incident involving the mutant Nitro who had the ability to cause immense explosions, a small town named Stamford in Connecticut was hit by his catastrophic abilities. After the incident the government began cracking down on mutant activities and putting anti-mutant legislation into action. In the ensuing conflict between mutant, humans and mutants against mutants many lives are claimed. For a time an unsteady peace was struck due to the diplomatic efforts of Charles Xavier. For a time the balance was kept by the one man in spite of further incursions by extremist mutants known as the Brotherhood. Unfortunately, Charles Xavier would be hit by an untimely and terminal illness that would end his life prematurely just as talks had begun with the Brotherhood to mitigate their actions. In a show of unity the funeral at the Xavier’s Institute was open to all mutants. X-Men, Brotherhood, and everywhere in between and beyond.

Members would either create original characters or could adapt and play established characters, but with the caveat that they be a lesser known or utilized character. I understand that is a very subjective standard and would be open to discussion on that front and I stipulate this mainly for story reasons. For example, I myself would like to use the character Mimic if there are no objections.
The only characters that are absolutely off limits (as they will be NPCs and help propel the story) are:
-Cyclops
-Storm
-Emma Frost
-Psylocke
-Magneto
-Wolverine
-Rogue
-Jean Grey (Not part of the story, but in died before the events of our RP)
Characters do not have to be strictly X-Men or Brotherhood members. Again, if you are creating or adapting a character feel free to have a reasonably storied history in this world.

Sign-ups will be first come first serve at a cap of 6 with the exception of a couple reserved slots for people who contributed to the RP. When you post interest also post if you will be using an original character (and if you can, what powers they are using) or if you want to use a canon character what character that would be. You may not get your choice of power (If it is possibly overpowered) or character (see: subjective), but you WILL still be locked into your slot for the thread and given time to come up with other ideas.
As far as the thread goes the normal rules I keep around are that the posting order is determined by first rounds of posts in a thread. From there you have 5-7 days to post after the previous post. If you fail to post you will be skipped the first time and the second time you will be removed.
