Manufacturer: Dr. Bel'ess Xuk-spirol
Production Line: N/A. One of a kind.
Model: Symbiotic suit of organic armour.
Technical Weapon Designation:
Affiliation: Dr. Bel'ess Xuk-spirol.
Availability: Personal
Modularity:
Considering it's a living, breathing, suit of armour, yes, very. It would be constantly changing to suit Bel'ess' needs.
Composition: Organic matter.
Ownership: Dr. Bel'ess Xuk-spirol.
Description:

A masterpiece of genetic manipulation and bioengineering, this suit of armour is composed entirely of living organic material. When worn, the suit initiates a symbiotic relationship with it's wearer, tapping into the wearer's blood-stream to keep itself alive. When not worn, it enters a sort of suspended animation, resting and conserving energy until it can engage in direct skin contact again. A benefit of the shared blood-stream, is that the suit cleanses and purges the wearer's bloodstream, and can inject various chemicals and stimulants directly into the body.

The suit is also quite adaptable. It is capable of enclosing the head in skin, with a set of "gills" and transparent eyelids to insulate the wearer from the surrounding atmosphere, allowing her to breathe underwater, and filter out dangerous toxins from the atmosphere. In addition, it is capable of growing webs between the fingers and toes for ease of movement in liquid, or thick, sharp, claws to aid climbing, or in self defense.

The thick skin, capable of some some defensive properties, is also quite decent at fending off high levels of cold and heat, keeping the wearer's body at a healthy, normal, temperature level.

Classification: Multipurpose.
Weight: 8 kilograms.
Quality: 5. Being comprised of organic material, it posesses some of the inherent weaknesses of such a design, meaning it can only handle certain levels thermal extremes, radiation, or kinetic force. And it's obviously useless against lightsabers. But the hardened skin can deflect most melee attacks, though the vibrations caused by vibroweapons still posses a danger. It's capable of standing up to light and medium blasters, dispersing most of the heat, the kinetic impact still packs quite a wallop, and is certainly enough to cause heavy bruising.
Other Feature(s): Gills, converting water into oxygen, or filtering out toxic chemicals from the atmosphere. Waste recycling. Capable of growing webs between fingers and toes. Thermal insulation. Capable of growing a layer of 'skin' over the wearer's face, giving it a complete seal. Capable of growing claws for self-defence and rock climbing. Stimm glands.

technically there are more than a few species who utilize biotechnology, Even Gungans are actually very skilled in it Vong are more....they are the radical extreme in that department.

the irony being what was insane concepts few years back in our own real world tech, today are actually being looked at and worked on, like growing neurons onto a circuit board rather than using metals to transfer signals, biological 3d printings of organs like hearts etc

Needs more spikey bits for me (dark eldar >> eldar :p). But in all seriousness, I rather like this armor a lot, though it certainly leaves little to the imagination.

Yeah, this predates the current layout of the Tech Boards, and was archived when Jiang took over. I'm asking him to review this so I can use it (again). Along with the same character's ship.

I would first like to say that this is a very interesting concept. I also feel that you could have done a lot more with the idea, but the ideas I have would require a much heavier suit. As it is, I don't believe this will get approved in its current form.

I don't feel that the level of protection correlates with the weight of the suit. Also, you didn't really go into detail of how the "organic material" protects the wearer. I think that should be fleshed out a little.

In my view, because the suit is so light, it should be classified as a "light armor", with similar levels of protection. It can be proof/resistant against small caliber/light blaster weapons and melee weapons, but anything bigger will have little trouble penetrating. You mentioned that armor's skin hardens, but because the armor has so little mass, the armor would just be too brittle in my opinion. If you want actual armor plates equivalent to dura-steel, you're going to have to bring the weight up by a lot.
