[OOC: Open for reasonable opposition. This thread is mainly for Imperial Knight Characters and gives some impact to the Fragmentation of the Empire's territories -- as stated here]
Vena awoke suddenly from a noise inside the Imperial Knight Castle. Her dorm was mostly empty as Imperial Knights travelled through the expanded Empire, which made the sudden sound of rushing footsteps all the more worrying. "What's going on?" she asked no one in particular as the others were just like her only just now waking up from a restless slumber. The Force around the Castle -and inside of it- felt irregular, chaotic and violent. Something was happening and it wasn't a serene meditiation!
After quickly donning her armor, Vena headed out into the courtyard where the cause for the violent chaos became apparent. Treason and revolt.
Several soldiers from the local planetary government looked at the young Imperial Knight with a certain surpise, they were all holding vibro-blades and some of them were bloodied. Their armor was clearly Imperial, yet the symbols had been removed, patched over or scratched from the durasteel. "What are you doing here?" Vena heard herself say despite knowing the answer and why they were using blades instead of blasters. Their intent was to kill the knights in their sleep and not alarm and wake them prematurely by using noisy weapons.
The four of them spread out, their vibro-blades at the ready and an overconfident expression on their faces. They had killed several knights already, so what could this young girl really do to defeat all four of them? Vena would give them that answer as she gathered the Force around her and unclipped the lightsaber from her belt, "You're making a mistake," she warned as the white-plasma of her lightsaber ignited in her right hand. She recognized their stances. They were all trained duelists from the planet Serenno, not doubt taught by the same Fencing Master as Vena had briefly trained under. This was going to be a tough fight, but she had one thing that they hadn't: The Force.
She made the first move as she used the Force to push one of them backwards, before pulling another closer unexpectedly and putting them in an unflanked one-vs-one. The fencer's footing was all wrong due to his unprepared forward movement, so Vena lunged at him, low and directed her lightsaber at his left hipbone. She surprised him sufficiently and pierced through the bone before slashing sideways through his stomach. The look on the man's eyes was that of utter pain and surprise as the girl he underestimated had made short work of him.
There was, however, another reason he'd been surprised and as the remaining three stepped back for a second in hesitation, Vena returned to form, confident that she would be able to come out vicitorious. Soon, however, this confidence evaporated as four more vibro-blade wielding men showed up in the courtyard.
Now the three soldiers chuckled, "She really thought we'd go after the Imperial Knight castle unprepared," one of them said, his confidence returning despite his companion dying silently on the ground before them. Well, kriff... there was no way Vena could win alone against seven highly skilled swordfighters.
