[Closed] The Training of Little Cabaoth

Kiara got off the transport and walked up the steps. Today she would start her training at the temple. She had brought a lot of supplies with her and her pack felt heavy. After receiving her room number from the receptionist, she placed her bag in her room before heading off to meet her new master.

[[I don't know where you meet students, so I'll let you post where your character is and meet up with them. my nuka never left the training rooms >.<]]

Knight Haloburner Lamb read through Padawan Kiara Cabaoth's file as she sipped on her morning coffee. Hours Later, she received word from the front desk of her new arrival to the temple on Tython. Lamb quickly gave the lady her response "have Padawan Caboath meet me in training room 3A."

Prior to Kiara Cabaoth's arrival the blonde Knight secured the said training room, and familiarized herself with her new apprentice. Today, as Knight Lamb, walks down to the training room to meet her new Padawan, she will not only get to make an impact on the young lady's life, but also test her limits.

Adorned in her usual green pants, cream colored top, a matching vest (covered over by her brown Jedi robe) and lightsabers on her hip, Halo walked inside the training room as she awaited for her Padawan to find her.

Kiara met the master in the specified room told to her by the receptionist. It was a decent sized training room, and had plenty of space for flips. Walking up to the blonde knight opposite her, she held out her hand. "Hi, I'm Ka- Kiara." Kiara smiled. "Sorry, I'm a bit nervous. This is my first time in a Jedi Temple."

 

[Padmé]

Handing out her tiny hand to Kiara, Knight Lamb responded “don’t be nervous. You’ll get used to the place in no time.” Withdrawing her hand, she added “in the future remember that the proper greeting is a head bow, my Padawan.” With that the blonde knight gave her Padawan a short bow then continued to pace the room.

“You mentioned this was your first time in a Jedi Temple,” Lamb said in her normal voice. “Allow the Force to guide you when moving around the labyrinth hall filled Temple. … Now, we must not wait time, come along. I’ll show you around. While I do so, think of where you would like to see yourself five years from today.”

Haloburner led the way out the training room doors. Her assignment the young Padawan might seem simple, but it really isn’t. Lamb can’t be the effective master that she desires to be without knowing where her Padawan ultimately wants to be in the future. Goals are important, but what is even more so important are the plans and steps that one takes to accomplish each goal.

“Remember Kiara your time here is not only about the skills that you will acquire, but most importantly, how you acquire those skills and beneficial they will be to your future goals….Come, walk with me.”

Hopefully the young Padawan won’t find the female Knight’s walking pace too fast…

Kiara kept pace with her new master, but in deference, remained a step behind her. "I think I would like to be a counciler. To be able to sway people using only my words, never having to draw my blade.

 

[Padmé]

The much awaited response from Knight Lamb's Padawan finally came forth. "A councilor, eh? The need does exist and I can see you years from now doing what you said- persuading people with your words." Lamb kept her pace with Kiara, however the mention of councilor brought another terrible sadness in her heart. The news about the recent destruction of the Temple on C was still fresh on her mind...

Using the back of her hand to wipe the tear, the female Knight kept her pace. She was careful to conceal her tear from Kiara. The pair passed several people on route to various tasks, several rooms and quarters, the dining hall, recreational area, and such. Even so, the pair only covered the indoor facility. The outdoors part of the tour will have to wait...

About an hour later, Knight Lamb headed back to their training room. "Such a wonderful weather outside today. My apologies for cutting the tour short. Now for the lesson at hand.."

Taking off her robe, revealing her usual attire, the blonde Jedi laid her robe down on her desk. She walked over to the wall facing the east side of the room. She walked and pointed towards the wall dividing the room. The blonde felt the line of bricks, running her hand along the lines, while drawing on the Force. Seconds later, the wall shifted which led to an opened room which will serve as their meditation and equipment room.

Reaching her right hand forward, Lamb motioned for her Padawan to join her inside the room. She then turned to face the general direction of several chained weights housed in a beam. Drawing on the Force, the Knight reached outward, extended herself- while manipulating one of the weights- on the beam towards her. Slowly she allowed the smallest weight to lift towards her and she took hold of the small weight. Lamb held the weight in her hand spoke:

“I started out this day thinking we will learn telekinesis. Well, I changed my mind, after I heard your future goal. When was the last time you meditated, Kiara?”

 

[Keinushi]

"Never in an official sense." Kiara admitted. "I mean I would sit and think in the refresher, but that's about it."

 

[Padmé]

"Hmmm. Very well then my Padawan," said the Knight as she entered the meditation room and telekinetically beckoned one, two, mediation cushions from the closet. She laid the cushions on the floor and postured her body in a meditative position on the first cushion- - squatting down, feet tucked beneath buttocks in a sitting position. While simultaneously getting in position, Halo closed her eyes and spoke, “Come in, feel free to get in a comfortable position.”

Comfortable position for everyone differs- Halo is mindful of that fact….

Now borrowing from Odan-Urr, the blonde will emphasize the importance of meditating. “Kiara, I will say that as a Jedi you must practice the art of meditating on the will of the Force on a daily basis. “Why” you may ask. Daily meditation will allow you to examine your motivations, which will in turn prohibit you from acting based on wrong emotions, passion, or ignorance to blur your clarity of mind. On the other hand, failure to mediate on a daily basis will cause you to have tainted motivations and thus make wrong choices.”

Eyes still closed, Halo waited for the Padawan to get in his comfortable position. She realized the truth in the statement she just made, particularly the latter part. Her former Master, Remy’s, recent departure from the Order and her association with the Sith grieved and continues to grieve Haloburner.

Halo continued in silence. Her chest huffed in as she inhaled and puffed as she exhaled. She allowed the Force to connect her with the world around the pair as she took each breath. The female knight hoped her Padawan was meditating as well….Meditating to avoid being easily lost in the mundane daily tasks that can so easily blur the mind of clarity and purpose.

 

[Keinushi]

Kiara sat on the cushion as she sat in the refresher. Her mind drifted into thoughts about life, love, and friends. Of past and future. Wait, did she just get a glimpse of the future? Cool! She tried to concentrate on the future, specifically her own, and she liked what she saw.

 

[Padmé]

Minutes later Knight Lamb was satisfied with what she experienced and Kiara's participation. She opened her eyes and asked "what would you like to learn or focus on today?"

 

[Keinushi]

"I don't know master." Kiara shrugged. "I guess whatever you wish to teach me? I don't really know what techniques the jedi have to offer."

 

[Padmé]

"Very well. Tell e what do you know about being a Jedi and the Jedi order?" Halo said in a calm soft voice. Her question was more so an inquiry.

 

[Keinushi]

"We are to be neutral at all times." Kiara offered. "We have great power to affect the galaxy and therefore must be careful in how we use it. And we're the only thing standing in the way of the sith taking control of the galaxy."

 

[Padmé]

"Good answer. But you must remember that,
Jedi are the guardians of peace in the galaxy.
Jedi use their powers to defend and to protect.
Jedi respect all life, in any form.
Jedi serve others rather than ruling over them, for the good of the galaxy.
Jedi seek to improve themselves through knowledge and training.”

Jedi Grand Master, Luke Skywalker couldn't have said it better...

 

[Keinushi]

Kiara nodded. "I shall be sure to fallow all of these tenets. Can I learn some more counciler abilities now?"

 

[Padmé]

"Councilor abilities?...My Padawan, you seem to be in a rush. We will eventually get there. Relax," said Lamb. Her words came out stern, but not scornful.

 

[Keinushi]

Kiara sighed. "Your right, of course. What would you like to to learn then?"

 

[Padmé]

Upon hearing Kiara’s response, the Knight gave her a short grin. Lamb telekinetically returned the meditation cushions inside the cabinet, and motioned for Kiara to follow her back to the main training room. As they walked Halobuner inquired “have you learned telekinesis yet?”

 

[Keinushi]

Kiara nodded. "I have. Learned it from a jedi on the way here."

 

[Padmé]

"Oh good. Why don't you display what you know," responded Haloburner as she pointed to a stack of suspended weights hanging above the pair. "I would like you to manipulate the biggest weight above us down to your hands."
