Granted, but now the cost of normal living is skyrocketed and you're only capable of affording your internet service and ramen noodles.
Forever.
I wish I could replace my hard drive without losing all my things...
Granted. But you can never ever lose data no matter how hard you try. Eventually your hard drives will remain behind on earth as a mythical trove of knowledge of human capabilities after the planet has been abandoned. An alien race that has been planning war against the Human Federation will find Earth. They will find everything relating to star wars from your hard drives and assume this is what Earth's fleet was like a thousand years ago. Armed with this false knowledge, they build, at enormous cost and debt, a series of warships designed around impossible amounts of firepower. These warships are magnitudes more powerful than needed to destroy a Super Star Destroyer, and against a Federation ship, it's like attacking a baby with an ICBM. Caught by surprise at how easy Federation defenses crumbled against the onslaught, they accidentally destroy every human colony in existence, leading to the extinction of our species. Because the alien race had gone into severe debt to build their OP warships, and the fact that they destroyed the economy they were hoping to absorb instead, their Empire goes into a massive economic collapse, resulting in civil war, disease, and mass famine. Trillions die needless deaths and humanity goes extinct because you were lazy.
I wish Murphy's Law happened to my wish.
