There are some things worse than death.
The Killiks and their Joiners were all over the news. After the attack on Ruusan, Corellia, and Thyferra, the galaxy was on high alert. At first, Cheriss didn’t much care— so long as they didn’t interfere with her research, they wouldn’t have a problem. But then they did.
There were reports of strange behavior coming from the CEO of a medical supplies company, which happened to be one of her suppliers. When the equipment stopped coming in, she knew that something was wrong and did some digging, which ultimately led her to Ord Mantell.
She found a table near the wall of the cantina, found a glass of wine too as she waited for her contact to arrive. Involving another person in the matter wouldn’t have been her first choice, but taking care of it by herself would have brought unnecessary scrutiny considering she had no ties to the world at all. Since the Zabrak she’d asked to meet already had somewhat of a base on the planet though, she hoped that it would make it look like more official Imperial business. And she didn’t like to admit it, but some company would be nice. She’d spent far too much time recently either alone or with Kayden, and if she was being honest neither was particularly pleasant.
So she would wait and see if this was worth her time.
