They're not even hackers. All they do is DoS attacks. They can only manage to take down a website for like a hour. Big deal.

Anonymous is effective when they create protests, etc. not when they DoS someone.

That being said, they played a surprisingly large part in the Tunisian revolution, which I was surprised to find out.

Don't like LulzSec. Internet is srs biznz.
They're not even hackers. All they do is DoS attacks. They can only manage to take down a website for like a hour. Big deal.

LulzSec claimed responsibility for a hacking incident that exposed account information from Bethesda recently. Bethesda advisory was simply to change passwords, since there was nothing that indicated anything serious being lost.

They also publicly announced their intentions to attack EVE Online, League of Legends, and Minecraft, which caused Anonymous to respond to their actions. They also claimed to have hacked Sony, Nintendo, Codemasters (a gaming development team), and a few others that escape my memory at the moment.

Yes, they DOS'd the CIA website, but that's not all they're apparently doing.

If you're talking about Anonymous, yeah they usually just DOS websites, but they typically do it while publicly stating the purpose of the DOS. Like a protest.

The DDOS attacks are carried out by the peons while the upper tiers organize them and work on their own projects. I only hope that something interesting comes of this.

Just because my cat is fat is no reason to declare war on Sandy! Really now, that's a little unfair don't you think?

You would be wrong

DDOS attacks are quite easy to do. Start a botnet with LOIC or other programs (they claim not to use LOIC however), Have them connect to the main hub and the higher ups can fire at which IP they want to fire at. Botnets can be voluntarily (user sets up the LOIC program himself to be a bot and lets his computer running 24/7) or malicious.

They do not just DDOS however. They also hack.

I dont know if anything will come out of this. I hope so but at the same time im not holding my breath

Keanu you've been doing a lot of disagreeing and arguing with people lately.

Would you like a hug?

I don't know the legitimacy of Anon being tied to this as it doesn't seem like something they would do. That and it is impossible for me to see how they can officially say they are doing anything when the organization itself is open to anyone who says they are part of it.

As for Lulzsec they just come off as punks. Not saying Anons are saints, but that letter just smacked of some stupid kid while Anons "announcements" are typically well written and have a point.
