Newton Arden. CTO of Blackwell Technologies. There was no one else, no other company, that she could think of to approach regarding the commission she had on her mind. Plus, his office on Manaan was so conveniently close to home. The Free Worlds Alliance encompassed so much territory that it meant travel was a constant part of her life. It would be nice to be able to arrive so quickly.

Exiting hyperspace. Please remain seated.

The comm system on her ship announced their arrival, and a minute later the familiar blue streaks of hyperspace ceased to the black void of space. Manaan's blue atmosphere met Korre's blue eyes, growing larger and larger as her pilot descended towards the location of Newton's office.

Korre didn't know much about Newton as a person, only that he was a businessman and one of the galaxy's brightest when it came to developing droid technology. They were both scientists of sorts but on completely opposite sides of the spectrum. Her education encompassed biology. She'd majored in microbiology and biochemistry, and had worked in bioengineering labs. The Belascan would not be ashamed to say she knew little to nothing about droids.

Her ship touched down, the ramp dropped, and after making sure she had her datapad on her, Korre made her way out. She was business as usual, but the resting smile on her lips brightened up her disposition. If there was anything Korre was known for, it was being incredibly friendly. Newton would already know the nature of this meeting, so hopefully, they could get things moving with interruption.

Newton was on the landing area watching the ship for his upcoming guest and potential client descend. The Blackwell CTO was indeed aware of the nature of this meeting and the prospects are looking good, this could be a good sale. The Free Worlds are looking to get their military together and quite frankly they came to the best place. Newton did respect Korre Belasi for her science background, so this should go pretty swell..

Newton was wearing a nice suit, looking professional for the forthcoming meeting between the two. His droid entourage by his side, his protocal droid L3, and his companion astromech droid M7.

As Korre would make her way off the ramp, Newton would greet her "Hello there Miss Prime Minister." he would nod and then smile "Welcome to Manaan" he said. "Did you have a pleasant trip here?" he would ask.

He was feeling good about today. Lately Newton has just been doing routine things like paperwork, presenations, and such, but today will be interesting no doubt. And if he plays his cards right, will yield good profit.

"This was one of the shortest trips I've made recently," she answered with a smile. She reached out her free hand to shake his, if he would complete the gesture. "It's a pleasure to meet you, by the way. Shall we?" She gestured to the building behind them, indicating her desire to get to business as soon as possible. It wasn't her intention to come off as in a hurry, but the Belascan's desire to get right to the point might come off that way.

As they made their way to wherever they would be conducting their meeting, Korre would silence notifications on her datapad. She would likely have it out and on during their conversations to go through various things, so there was no reason for her to have it beeping at her every five minutes.

"Is there a specific reason Manaan was chosen for a Blackwell office?" It might just be a convenient location for one reason or another, but she was curious. Did an ocean world work well for a technology giant like Blackwell?

Newton smile at her pleasant trip would be glad to take her up on her handshake. Professional handshake. "Like wise, and of course" Newton would then usher the Prime Minister to where they will be having their talks at with his droid entourage accompanying him, they would go through the clean white halls of the building, finding uniformed corporate men going about their usual tasks as well.

Newton would then while walking look towards the Prime Minister as he asked her question. That is a good question, Newton is enthusiastic to answer. "That's a good question. Blackwell was established almost five-thousand years ago as Blackwell Indepedent Technologies." Newton would then see a portrait of of a blue-skinned red headed woman on one of the hallway they were passing. He would stop and point to it for just a moment. "This is Tasha Blackwell. She was our company's founder. Manaan at the time was a neutral world as the galaxy was at war. Manaan was also a prosperous, advanced, thriving world as well as eye-pleasing and the location she picked as our first headquarters. Manaan was a fitting location for our first HQ, as well as a practical one as an economic hub." Newton was very familiar with the company's history, it's a interesting and storied one.

The Blackwell CTO doesn't mind more small-talk like this, but if there is nothing further, they would arrive at their destination. With that, one more door would open as they would continue and they would be in the board room. A sleek ergonomic area with white table, chairs, and a relaxing view of the ocean. "Here we are, make yourself comfortable." He would invite her. "Care for some water or anything before we begin" he would offer a refreshment just before. Once they get past the pleasantries and other standard stuff, they can get to the fun part.

Korre was more than happy to listen to the little lesson in history. She did so quietly, her resting smile and attentive eyes indicating her full attention. With Manaan being so close to Belasco, perhaps she ought to have already known this, but she couldn't possibly remember every little detail of history with as many planets there were to learn about.

The room they entered was much better than the dim board room she had been imagining for some reason. She appreciated when architecture was just as modern inside as outside, though she personally preferred a bit more pops of color.

"A water would be fine," she answered as she settled down into one of the chairs. Her blue eyes wandered around the room, noting how empty these sorts of places looked without ten or more businesspersons occupying the remaining seats.

She folded her hands on the table in front of her. "The members of my Senate have approved the formation of an official Free Worlds military," Korre began. "We will be relying on voluntary enlistees and hired mercenaries for those who will be on the front line, but I want to supplement those forces with droids." That was a fairly obvious statement seeing as if she weren't looking for droids she would be in the wrong spot. "We're looking to commission Blackwell for that."

Korre pulled out her datapad and activated the holoscreen projection. A draft of the military would appear in the air, consisting of three fleets labeled Northern, Eastern, and Southern. She navigated down until simple forms of troops would be displayed. "Ideally, there would be droid soldiers in every squadron. People are more likely to support an army made up more of droids than they are one of organics. The commission would include enough units to supplement this level in every fleet."

The problem was mostly from Korre not being familiar enough with the specifics of militaries or droid functions. Newton would, hopefully, be able to bridge that gap with ease.

Water it is, Newton would look towards his assistant protocal droid and then clap his hands twice, and L3 would then wordlessly go to fetch some water. Newton would listen and nod and look at the holo-screen projections that the good Prime Minister showed. Luckily, Blackwell has many quality military-ready droid models to offer and the mega-corporation can produce them. Newton would sit down as well, across from the the Prime Minister

After the Prime Minister was finished, Newton would reply. "You've come to the right place, Your Excellency." he would smile and nod. "Blackwell Technologies has many droid models on the market that can suit your needs. The D3-NB, or Deneb droid is a good, versatile, reliable soldier droid. Or would you rather spare some expense with the older BAS-55? Newton favored the droid he designed with his own tone over the other one he suggested. Newton would also set his own datapad on the table, which has a catalogue of Blackwell Technology products, more specifically the droids. From there Korre could click on the droid and get a brief description of the droid. "There are some more options in case you are interested. Of course if you have any questions about those I can answer.."

L3 would then arrive with the water and would then present it to the Prime Minister. "But yes, Blackwell Automata also has many droid manufacturing factifies through out the galaxy with many, many droids coming off the assembly line every day. We should be able to fulfill any quantity of droids no problem." And then the talks would fall back to the Prime Minister. Will she move forward, or will she have additional inquires?

Your Excellency? Korre couldn't contain the bemused curvature of her lips at the over-the-top title. She'd forgotten how formal the business world could be. It was such a stark contrast from her home planet where first names were used almost universally between everyone of any social standing. "Just Korre is fine," she commented, giving him a warm smile before turning her attention to the datapad.

She reached out to take a look a the catalog. Her blue eyes ran down the list, and her fingers explored the different options. There weren't an overwhelming amount of options, but there were quite a few, and Korre was painfully uninformed when it came to droids.

"You recommend the D3-N...B?" Her eyes shot down to the listed item to confirm she'd said the right model. "I'm not really familiar with droids as a whole. Do you have any other recommendations? I think the bulk of what we'll need is for the front lines, but I know medical and utility droids will be of use as well."

Korre looked back up from the datapad to meet Newton's gaze as she waited for an answer.

"Of course. You can call me Newton too" he smiled, he understood her wanting to not go that far into formalities. , Newton isn't a big fan of them either. His own name 'Newton' sounds better than 'Mr. Arden' Anyways, would nod as he did indeed recommend the D3-NB. Anyways, her lack of familiarity with the droids can be excused, simple people have droids for day-to-day assistance with protocol droids, servant droids, astromech droids doing menial tasks for their owners. But few people can understand droids in-depth like Newton can.

"Correct, the D3 is a good infantry droid, a capable fighter in it's own right. Although the V3-G4 would make an effective heavy infantry unit to go along with it, being able to use heavy weapons with great effectiveness; repeaters, rocket launchers. They can take a good beating too as well as dish out" he assured her, they would be good for the front line, but they are more expensive.

Newton would gesture for his datapad back. With that, that, they are moving on to the other part of the order she was interested in, medical and utility droids. Newton was pondering, Blackwell did have access to a variety of utility droids, medical ones were more scarce. Blackwell Automata is known more for it's droids that were best at killing things or doing mundane work that make peoples lives easier.

Next Newton would show a display of the next droid."For medical droids, we do have the FX-series droid under license. Old, but still very effective in this day and age." he simply stated, the Blackwell-made selection of medical droids is lackluster, other medical corporations have Blackwell beat in that department, but perhaps that's something for Newton to look into later.

"And utility droids, Blackwell as as well as our subsidiary Cybot Galactica have a wide variety of them. Are there more specific needs you are looking for? Perhaps repairs, heavy lifting? We do have many options available in the regards. " Newton would then push more buttons on the datapad again, looking to find utility droids in the Blackwell database.

The FX-series? The droid was far more useful in a surgery than on the battlefield. Maybe she should've specified. "I think we will pass on the FX-series droids. As for utility, maybe I mean something more on the side of mobility? Scouting and what not?" The Belascan knew of at least a few little droids that hovered and sped across the terrain. It would be useful for the soldiers, she figured.

"I believe the D3 and the V3-G4 would be good options for the ground forces." Korre pulled out her own datapad and rapidly input some keystrokes, noting the various names they'd discussed so far while Newton searched for utility options.

Newton nodded his head acknowledging that the good Prime Minister won't go for the FX series droids. Unfortunate, but a minor setback it looks like as she was receptive to the Vega and Deneb droids. That's good. Anyways, for scouting droids. Fortunately, Newton does help with that

"For scouting and mobility, I do have a couple designs that would be good for scouting." Newton would then go back to the catalogue and then show her the following droids. "The A7-TR Falcon droid can fly and good speeds, and has camera and recording equipment. It's light and has a small profile. Although it was designed for recreational use, it's still could be a good scout drone." And then the next option "On the otherhand the HW-64 Hawking Droid can also fly via repulsorlifts, has the same camera-recorder equipment. Not only that, it they can also be used as fire-support from on high. They are quite versatile in their use. Patrols, recon, security use .etc " He would state. As airborne repuslorlifts droids, they are indeed quite mobel and ideal for scouting. With that Newton would hand over the datapad once more so she could look at the full specs and description if needed.

The Blackwell Executive would nod his head in approval of his own words, and look to gauge the Prime Minster's reaction. She primarily has her soldier droid need covered, and hopefully the his two repuslor-models can fulfill her mobility-scouting niche.

On the side, Newton will make a mental note to look into a medical droid design.

"The HW-64 should do just fine." The HW-64 looked to her like it would function better in a battlefield environment, especially with the potential for light air support. This is a lot more difficult to decide on than I thought it would be. Though she'd certainly learned about droids and such in school, she hadn't expected to see how complicated they could get. It was not her area of expertise.

"Well, many thanks Newton. I appreciate the help, and for accepting our credits." Korre added the last bit with a laugh. This was one of the least stressful business meetings she'd attended in a long time. Though her initial impression of Newton hadn't been the best, the Belascan had come to the conclusion that she liked him despite his lack of skills in public speaking. Anyone who could get straight to the point was a good one in her books.

"I will get my Senate's approval, which shouldn't be an issue, and we can then proceed from there."
