Coruscant Undercity, Apartment Complex

The sounds of footsteps thudding down the hallway at a quickened pace was not uncommon in this low class area of the Republic's jewel. It was usually someone running from thugs or some such but today it was different. The girlfriend of a local swoop gang member was running to her lover’s apartment and banged on the door repeatedly, odd given her rather large stomach. The doors hissed open and a massive Zabrak man stood with a repeater slung across his back.

"What do you want? Do you have stim for me or should we got on that now?"

"No..." The woman, also a Zabrak, paused momentarily. "But I think I'm now carrying a way to get us a whole bunch of credits to get some more..."

"You really want to do that huh? Whatever gets me high, I need more right now."

"Yes yes yes. Let's go get some and look for any buyers for our little bundle of credits....."

Coruscant Undercity, Streets

The massive Zabrak and his diminutive junkie wife stood with their five year old son, a rather healthy Zabrak boy with purple eyes, and awaited the man that'd come and give them the credits to get the drugs they fiended for. Before long a speeder pulled up and out stepped an average sized Human with a lengthy scar running from the lower left side of his jawbone up to the center of his nose.

"Momma, what's going on?"

"Shut up, you're going with this man, be nice and do what he wants." The mother spoke harshly before kicking the boy off to the man just as he tossed a credit chip to them. The man quickly grabbed the boy and tossed him in the speeder, the door slamming shut just after he yelled out in fear.

"Mom? Mommy why? Help me mom he's hurting me!"

Onderon, Mansion basement in upper-class area.

Six years down the line the boy with the purple eyes lays strapped to a table, bound by durasteel chains even his well-kept body couldn't escape. A massively built sentient enters the room but the drugs are too powerful for him to react. He's not quite sure what's going on around him aside from the ignition of some kind of torch and it slowly being pressed against something. In his mind, that kind of pain would be preferable to the mental and psychological pain he's been in, not to mention the physical. A familiar voice breaks the silence of the now-quiet room.

"Hello Varek."

It was that of the very man who'd bought him years ago. His voice was powerful and smooth, like that of any well trained politician, although his rather enthusiastic interest in the youth of the nation was off-putting to some and others spoke of a history of pedophilia, none of this could be confirmed.

"After today, you'll be marked. Mine forever. Not that that's so bad. I feed you, give you a place to sleep, let you work out a bit here and there, and all I ask is that you do what you're told." He paused for but a moment and turned his head to the other sentient, an alien of some sort, to speak to him. "You may start now."

And with that the brand landed upon Varek's face. The white-hot symbol of a broken heart would be forever marked onto his right cheek as it burned all the way down to the lowest levels.

An eleven year old boy shouldn't ever have to scream like that...

Onderon, Mansion's master bedroom.

It had been a most unwise decision by the vile Human to allow Varek to keep his body in good shape. He should've known the day would come when he'd finally rebel and fight back. Today was that day. Today the man would die.

Varek had spent the better part of the last two years working on moving things with that little power he'd always felt and used sometimes on accident. It always manifested itself in the form of a small flame that just sparked from his right hand like a miniature blowtorch, but only for a second and it always left him tired.

He'd been escorted to his bedroom like he had far too many times before, one guard this time instead of two since he'd been a good boy recently. They'd be alone as always and then Varek would strike. The doors shut and the games began.

Varek lay on the bed slowly, keeping the facade that things would continue as they had for the last few weeks. Just as the man rolled to face him, the fourteen year old Zabrak pounced, sitting on the man's hips and wrapping one hand around his throat and blasting his face with his other. The years of pent up rage, pain and anger just got the better of him and suddenly it happened.

When his fist came down and back up, something inside told him to open his hand and he obliged without even noticing. At that exact moment a single flame shot forth with much more intensity than it ever had before and he had to hop off the bed to avoid being engulfed in the quickly spreading fire.

The man screamed as loud and as much as expected but no one would be coming to save him, the only guard was on the other side of the mansion taking his break. A blast of fire from the bed caught Varek in the face and burned him slightly as he rolled away from it heading towards the window. They were on the second story but there was a ledge. Out he went once and for all, down the ledge and out the gates.

Finally, freedom.

Onderon, Abandoned Warehouse

The inside of the massive, empty building was cold and quiet aside from the measured breaths of a young boy within. With his eyes closed the Zabrak drifted away to a safe place far away from the evil man who had violated him all those years to sate his perverse hunger, safe from horrible people like his parents, safe from everyone. That odd feeling in his gut only got stronger when he did this and his control over that funny feeling had improved a little since he started doing this daily. Deep in his heart though, anger and hatred ruled with an iron fist.

There was a stack of three holotapes pulled he'd found on the floor when he moved into his new home after fleeing the mansion before the flames consumed it whole. Each of the three was about an hour long and all showed a man teaching people how to hit things. Martial arts. And so he began to practice that too during the lonely hours spent alone in his massive new house. All he did was train, meditate and sleep. Food came from a back room that was still full of persevered food that'd last for years and water from public fountain not far from there.

That was, until he met her.

Onderon, Warehouse

Varek never knew this younger girl before she just aimlessly wondered into his pleasant and quiet home. He had no idea just how vital she would soon become to him. How it would feel to be half of a whole, to have someone that actually mattered to him at all.

She was the closest thing Varek had ever had to a family and he'd kill a thousand men to keep her safe.

The purple-eyed Zabrak had only met her a few weeks ago but they'd grown close rather quickly in that time frame. Varek never spoke much, just because he'd been beat into silence all those years, and didn't show many physical signs of enjoying her presence but that feeling in her gut should tell her otherwise.

Eventually, he'd tell her the horrors of the mansion and she'd tell him of the power he could command.

"Come on Vee, I promise you he's different. A little scary at first but he'll protect you from monsters like that man and those nasty Jedi."

And so his training would begin....

Korriban, Sith Temple

Two acolytes stood across from each other in the midst of the Valley of the Dark Lords with ignited lightsabers in hand and the Force in their veins. Both prized students and had potential to be skilled Marauders and eventually Lords down the line, one a Twi'lek and the other a Zabrak.
This was the culmination of a weeklong tournament of various talented students with the winner finally advancing in rank. Unfortunately for most, the fights were to the death and that meant only one would get the coveted promotion. Varek had been successful in his missions as of late, bringing back a valuable Sith artifact and clearing out a tomb housing a pair of terentatek's. His duels had thus far gone without issue, although his last opponent nearly caught him with a burst of lightning in his death throes.

The Twi'lek was as fast as he was exhausted from the days events. The pain and fatigue would never be clear on him, his face long ago had been turned to a permenant masque of twisted joy in his work. He'd go on to be a successful assassin if he made it passed this last opponent. His red skin was little more than a blur as he shot towards his opponent, a headlong charge ending with a leaping, frontflip strike that'd at worst place them in a saberlock. Varek was well trained against Ataru users, the second the man came forward the force tugged at the hairs on his neck, and his red-bladed lightsaber shot forward with suprising speed, a straight stab as he sidestepped slightly. The Twi'lek was moving too fast and impaled himself upon the Zabrak's outstreched blade, which was then deactivated for but a moment before it was re-ignited to kill the failure before him. Cheers went about from the audience that'd gathered to watch.

"And so it is finished. Good job, Marauder Varek Rayth."

Bastion, Imperial Palace.

"Liberation, brother."

As she spoke, her yellow eyes glowed brighter, twinkling as if emitting their own glow. She stepped forth, once again closing the distance between them. She raised a hand and slowly raised it to his chest, her nimble fingers gently resting against the plating, a stark contrast of softness and the cold exterior of his armor. For a moment, nothing happened, Andraste continued gazing at him, looking into his eyes. The smile remained.

And then a tumultuous explosion erupted.

It was a dissonance of thoughts, a cacophonous amalgamation that was the progeny of chaos, injected into him through her touch, through a seamless flow of hot, ichorous energy. It was a viscous, tangible form of the Force that would siphon through her and into his core, exploding into a tremendous blossom of thoughts that would shatter past every dam, crack every barrier, and come pushing in like torrential rapids.

The thoughts were his own, the subjugated atrocities that he had kept locked away for so long. They exploded all at once within his mind, from every leering gaze, to every disgusting touch, to his own screams, to the pressure of someone against him, to the feel, the touch, the smell, the taste, the repulsion, the vomiting, the clawing, the crying, the torture, the twisting, the contorting. Every bit. Every detail. Every sting of pain. All of it mercilessly resounded within his mind. All of it encompassed and tainted the pool of his psyche, clouding it in its putrid taint.

Andraste no longer remained a figure before him, but transformed before his very eyes, contorting within the Force's plane of existence. Her signature was pitch black, and she was a shadow, yellow eyes piercing into his mind. There was a demon standing before him, a glimpse into the beast that resided within her, the beast that she had kept in check. Her hand on his chest would feel as a thousand pounds of pressure, pushing into his chest, into his ribs, and clawing at his very insides. It was perversion of a symbiotic connection, an acid that bound to him, their connection impossible to sever.

"Freedom.."

The voice was not Andraste's alone, but enhanced with the Force, a distant whisper, a cold chill that would brush down every vertebrae, and one he would feel at his core. As soon as the words left her, the chill admixed with heat, the heat of the deliquescent energy that flowed into him. The images would culminate, form together, as if bound by fire and steel. There Varek would see the figure crouch, a humanoid built from the ashes of the atrocities that broke him down. The figure would then rise, slowly turning to face him. Fire erupted within the figure, a raging inferno that heralded only strength, the memories slipping away and fading to nothing. The pain melted and flowed out, sucked back through the connection Andraste had made. She still stood as the beast, the shadow that devoured on the pain, that consumed the agony, that thrived off it.

Throughout it all, Varek would see himself, the transformation that was born from nothing and everything. It would gaze upon him, with no mask, with no concealment, with no boundaries. It was the Shard and him, joined as one. Andraste did not allow the image to linger for long, abruptly yanking her hand back with a cry. The force would drop him to his knees. Her eyes were pure white, immersed within the Force. She chained the beast, once again returning to the physical state of being, once again rising from within the pools of the Force. She gazed down upon Varek, her expression unreadable.

"You will not be weighed down by the past if you are to be a Sith Lord."

With that, the mask in his hand shattered to a thousand pieces.

"You will no longer hide if you are to be a Sith Lord."

Andraste stepped back, gazing down upon him. At that moment, she was not his sister. But she was his Empress.

"Rise, Darth Vires."

And so Varek stood, with no weight upon his shoulders. The burden of the past had been lifted from him and a new clarity took over his vision. Colors were sharper and sounds clearer. The Shard had remained in the physical sense, but the personality within was greatly changed. Equal parts terrified and awestruck at its owners transformation. The newly crowned Darth spoke with a changed voice, one that carried the weight of the Force behind it. Instead of raspy it was dark, almost demonic, yet smooth and warm, much like that of the Shard.

"All will fall before us, my sister. All will bow to you, my Empress. None will subject me to slavery ever again, Andraste, for my chains have been broken, and through power I have been freed."

Varek's armor is considered by many to be the stuff of legend. Phrik construction lends the armor incredible durability, while remaining relatively light. Geist Weiss, famed Sith alchemist crafted the set for his new found ally a week after the death of Lord Azrael. As such, it is imbued with the strength of the Dark Side, only further increasing the impressive durability of the Phrik construction to incredible levels.

  • CHESTPIECE: Distinctive gorget, designed to provide additional defence against decapitation.
  • GAUNTLETS: Sith alchemy adds strength similar to a pair of Crushgaunts.
  • SHOULDER PLATES: Cape-holders.
  • BOOTS: Thick bottoms that conceal magnets to prevent V from being ripped out of a ship during explosive decompressoin.
  • THIGH PLATES: Spike the extends from top of knee to add lethality to knee strikes, activates on neural command.
  • SHIN PLATES: Thickened armor and shock absorbers for kicking.

((Varek's armor is of Phrik construction which renders lightsabers and energy based weapons far less effective against it. HOWEVER, there are gaps in this armor. The knees, elbows, back of the legs, sides of the neck, armpit and inner groin are all without ability to stop any form of lightsaber strike. Additionally. the back of his armor, thigh plates and bicep plates are all weaker and unable to absorb a full force lightsaber blow, though they can survive a glance relatively well. The front of the chestpiece, the bracers, gauntlets, shin-plates/boots are the areas of the highest phrikite concentration and would require a few saber blows to break down. However, that's not the only way they can be broken. As with any armor, blunt force trauma wrecks havoc on the target so weapons that utilize that are very effective. ))

As the Warmaster of the Sith, Varek has a variety of metaphysical powers at his disposal. Following his ascension from Acolyte to Sith Lord, Varek achieved mastery of the core Force powers, including -but not limited to - Telekinesis, Telepathy, Precognition, Force Sense, Force Speed, Force Jump. Following his furthered training on Ziost, Vires also became adept at other powers of the Force, such as Force Lightning, Force Strength, Tutaminis, Force Immunity, and Force Scream.

While the Zabrak has excellent control over the aforementioned abilities they are a far cry from those he is most proficient with. One ancient Sith Master remarked his ability with fire was the equal of the Dark Lord's control of lightning, no small claim when one considers Exodeus' talent for usage of the infamous Sith power. The force-fueled flames have claimed the life of multiple Jedi on a variety of occasions and the power has seen use across the battlefields of the galaxy. As such, he is also a master of the ability known what as Force Blind. On the defensive end, Varek's tremendous skill with Force Barrier has served to render him a nigh unstoppable juggernaught, few things able to slow his advance as the Force shielded him from outside influence.

Unknown to most, Varek also possesses an excellent affinity for the art of Force Weapon in tune with his lightsaber; able to more easily deflect and redirect Force attacks, and even store offensive Force energies and discharge them. Generally this is done in combination with his telekinetic abilties, each strike of his lightsaber sending clusters of enemies through the air.

Vires' power comes from his intensive hatred and rage built up through his past, as well as a powerful connection to the Force, and as such he has come to gain impressive control over the power known as Dark Rage. While Varek has yet to be forced to bring this ability to bear in the field, should it become necessary V is capable of turning himself into a maelstrom of destruction.

The Warmaster is a title held only by the most proficient of the Imperium's countless Sith. Under most circumstances, Varek wields his lightsaber in an aggressive one-handed fashion, prefering to use his other hand for Force usage or to catch his opponents lightsaber, a skill he has grown masterful in. Although he learned Form I: Shii-Cho at the start of his training, Varek has since gone on to master both Soresu and Djem So, his current fighting style resembling a blend of the two aforementioned style, with a focus on footwork and one-handed usage similar to Makashii. His fighting style bears many similarities to that of the ancient Sith Lord, Darth Malgus, something of an idol of Vareks. Finding oneself within range of the Warmaster's lightsaber is almost certain death.

His lightsaber, powered by a Damind crystal, giving it a wider, longer red blade.

In conjunction with his Force Strength and Dark Rage, despite being rarely invoked, Varek can effectively transform himself into a nearly unstoppable monster of battle. Varek's lightsaber talents, when combined with his mastery of the Force, allow him to dominate and obliterate any force placed against him. The Warmaster earned his title, and sits as the most battle hardened of the Sith alive right now.

Note: All these were defeated either in personal combat, Varek was one of the many killing them, or was commanding forces and beat them. All on the list are not dead.

An ancient entity from Sith Lords of the old times. Azrael devoted an inordinate amount of time into research of the tomb that held the sentient crystal previously used to secure the power of masterminds from long ago. Half a foot long, the purple crystalline being rests inside of Varek's newly crafted Sith Alchemized breastplate. While it is safe and concealed inside the plate, it's effectiveness is far from reduced.

While being incapable of using the Force in a physical sense, totally unable to produce even a simple Force push, it's incredibly powerful at mental warfare and illusion work. Having absorbed the life essence of the former Warmaster Azrael, it absorbed some of his talents as well. The Shard is capable of using complex and high end Force powers such as Mind Shard as well as rendering Varek undetectable through both physical and metaphysical means. In addition to this, it is also capable of telepathic communication and can lend it's strength to Varek, making any power that harnesses both their strength exponentially more powerful.

After the events of A Reunion of Siblings, the Shard has accepted its Master and is now utterly obedient to the reborn Zabrak.

You should practice your comprehension of written work.

Mars, well... It's a cruel story, and a good read.

I know, Mars can do better. And this is not his full effect. I was just stating this work was sloppy to what he usually does. It was good none the less but still, a bit sloppy.

Zen, Mars is a great writer, and this profile is an example of his excellence in writing. It might be hard for you to understand, but this is a fabulous piece of writing, and it conveyed the character well, and it portrayed the concepts and such that Mars had in mind.

I wouldn't be so quick to criticize when your own work has it's own flaws. If you're the expert why don't you give him some advice instead of telling him his work is sloppy and not at his best?

Ignore this - It's a great read. I've not seen pedophilia used in a character before, props.

I kindly ask you to leave me alone, and don't be so quick to defend, I know Mars is an excellent writer all I saying is, I seen his other profiles, when you were not even part of the site, And the profiles he made, back then were more better for my taste. History wise.

I thought you left the Sith? Or was that just one particular character you stopped using?

List of RP's added. While be adding more "snapshots" of things that have happened over the next week.

Edit: Totally didn't see Bac's post. I left the Sith in a leadership role, but I love this character so I'm keeping him to use. The fact that he matters a little less than Apollo gives me more freedom to RP with him.
