Comedic how?Not in my writing, but I've always seen it as somewhat comedic.

You just have to be all about antidisestablishmentarianism, don't you?
Because Euripides could have used anything at all to resolve the problem, but instead he chose to use a deus ex machina.
I think of Sin as being more of a protodadist.
And he's been heavily criticized for it, as well as almost every other writer who's used Deus Ex Machina. I still fail to see how you like that.

You've discovered wikipedia.
So much as Deus Ex Machina are sometimes the last hope for a situation to be solved, I very much so loathe returns to a Status Quo as it does nothing but highlight that the wholesome of what just happened prior was a pure waste of time. Alternatively, when it does not result in a status quo and does advance the plot, I still dislike the intervention UNLESS the character and/or device has some further purpose later on in the story or explains prior unsolved points.
*shoots himself*
You are the new cailst.
Please excuse my ignorance, I do not claim to know perfectly terms of literature if something I said sounded as utterly stupid then do enlighten me.
So after some careful dissection of that ungodly mess, I think I know what you're saying. In which case I still don't agree with you. Deus Ex Machina's never add anything of worth to a story. So much as Deus Ex Machina are sometimes the last hope for a situation to be solved, I very much so loathe returns to a Status Quo as it does nothing but highlight that the wholesome of what just happened prior was a pure waste of time. @ Nevermore > I did mention my English was Self-taught and my main was french.
Nevermore said:It could be a product of English being your second (or even third, fourth, fifth, sixth and so on) language, but that doesn't excuse all of it.

Nope. I still don't agree. If you can't come up with a plot point that doesn't require an unstoppable force for the direction you want the story to go, than you should come up with a different direction for the story.
ALSO, Oui je vis au Québec.
