  The Sentients for the Ethical Treatment of Animals is a radical group of sentients who believe non-sentient lifeforms should be given better treatment and rights. They are often seen as terrorists due to the drastic actions they take to accomplish their goals. They often are in conflict with the Hutt Cartel which is notorious for caging beasts for fighting, war, and entertainment. Other opposition are companies that test products on animals, slaughterhouses, non-free-range ranches, and anyone else that uses animals harshly for labor or profit. The group pulls members from many walks of life and backgrounds.

  The group was started by Plex Chelco and Egrod Pawick. They were passionate vegans and animal lovers who were disturbed by the Hutt treatment of their bests during their work in Hutt Space. They felt the need to free them and any other creature being used unethically. The pair became known for their radical moves against criminals and loud protests in front of factories all over the galaxy. Originally, the group was fairly non-violent. They only took actions against blatant criminals and otherwise protested when no laws were being broken. Some mischief occurred here or there where the founders would spend a few nights in jail, but nothing extreme.
  
  Three decades after its founding, both of the founders were killed while trying to rescue some Rancors from a Hutt Compound. They were successful in freeing the creatures unseen by the cartel forces and escaped in a freighter to take the Rancors to a better, natural habitat. Their ship was found a few weeks later with only a pair of Rancors left inside. Without their guiding hand, the group was allowed to become more and more radical over the next few decades.
  
  One hundred years following the founders' deaths, SETA became known as a violent, radical group that would burn down factories while freeing animals, murder farmers to free their cattle, and openly fight meat eaters in restaurants.

  There is no real structure behind this group at first glance, but they have to be organized to accomplish any of their goals. The group has three ranks plus its leader.
  
  Master - Guides the group as a whole. This person must be elected by the council of Vegans.
  
  Vegan - A high ranking member eligible for leadership. They sit on the council and make major decisions for the group.
  
  Vegetarian - A standard member rank for those who are vetted and have dedicated to SETA.
  
  Animal Lover - New Member Rank. This is a person who still must prove themselves. Even if they are a vegan/vegetarian by diet, they are marked as this until they prove true dedication to the cause.

Intent
To create a group that is unique and fun to write about/with. It is referenced in a Hutt writeup and it needs to exist. It exists as opposition to Hutts that are not fellow crime lords or law enforcement. It also makes waves elsewhere by being against any animal abuse. A good background lore or even faction to write as.

BIOGRAPHY

Cha was the heiress to the Atash Ranching Company on Taanab. It was one of the largest meat producing ranches in the entire galaxy and had assets on various worlds. Her father was known as the king of cattle to many and was a cruel owner of animals. Most Cattle never moved outside their tiny enclosure and were forced to feed constantly. This was the maximum efficiency to feed the galaxy the meat it wanted and he was the man to provide. The young Rodian was positioned to take over after her father and was his only child.

As a teenager, roughly 16-18 years of age, Cha joined SETA in secret behind her father's back. She refused to eat meat after seeing how their cattle were treated ever since she was younger. The group radicalized her after she decided to become a vegan in protest of her father. She would 'accidentally' leave the gates open for SETA to attack holdings her father owned. Eventually she was discovered and confronted. Cha killed her own father in a combination of self-defense and hatred. From there she made sure to destroy the company in any way she could.

In the decades since her father's death, she rose through the ranks of SETA to become Master of the Vegans. She is known as a viscous, merciless woman who will use violence as a solution even if animals can be saved peacefully. Her hatred for those who mistreat animals fuels her need to murder a farmer in his sleep rather than simply freeing his cattle. Much of the bad press this group receives can be directly tied to Cha.

The Rathtars​

"When the ISC took over Kessel, everything changed."​

HISTORY​

For most of known history, the Pyke have controlled Kessel and its spice mines. A few hiccups here or there may have come but their homeworld proximity to it and their brutal nature kept it in the family. When the ISC gained control of the world and the Hutts took control of the mines, the Pyke were displaced from their best resource. It didn't destroy the Syndicate but it was a strong blow to them.

This Gang was sparked into existence when Nor'baal the Hutt resigned as Governor of Kessel. This meant the Hutt Cartel didn't have its grip on the spice mines anymore. The small gang did not have the power to take the mines back for themselves, but they felt inspired to build their own spice empire.

The Rathtars are loosely organized under a ringleader and run by a family of Pykes. They also have associates outside of this family that do work for them such as smugglers, enforcers, hunters, etc.

PRODUCTS​

Spice. This gang loves to make varying types of spice. Their main product is the Guilean Balo Stick. While other things like generic death sticks and more localized specialties might be sold, their bread and butter are the Balo Sticks.

To give a bit of structure to the new Pyke group RPing on the site. Hoping to grow it into a cool new sub-faction that takes over the Pyke NPC leadership.
