How is this better???????

It could grow on me. I prefer the old one, but I can relate it to what they did in the comics with the suit and the second is actually more in line with that trend. Then again my favorite image of cap is the one where he is in WWII holding a Thompson and his shield.

One thing that bothered me was how much Evans had the mask down in the trailer.

I'm original then. In one of my movies I made with The Movies, I don't destroy New York, Oh no... I destroy...

SEATTLE.

Per New York being destroyed I have no real qualms with where it is set. True, an environment can tell a story in itself; but that isn't necessary.

That doesn't bother me, because what has gone from a helment and become a mask, looks ****ing stupid :CHappy

It's not horrible. It's definitely not as practical as the helmet, but it's more in line with Caps actual costume in the comics.

Oh yeah, kinda nit picking, But Kaeb, some of those movies you listed don't really count. Only because some of them like Planet of the Apea and... (Sighs) Knowing, the whole world was sorta done in.

This is a film, not a comic book.

I'm all for being faithful, but certain aspects just don't transfer well to other mediums. It's why a lot of the time, they just take the essence of a character then bring that to the screen in an interesting and intruiging fashion. Take for example, The Joker. Green and Purple, a demented smile, facepaint, clown, playfully psychotic. They took that and created Heath's joker, nothing like the original, but well-loved.

They did this well in the original Captain America film, they took the essence of the character and transferred it over into a realistic war film with leanings in science fiction, giving him a nuanced flight suit with his own personal modifications motivated by his time in the USO circuit attempting to inspire his fellow troops. The costume reflects all that and looks awesome, even candid on set shots where well received before the films release.

But this. This just looks plain, overly sleak and tailored. It's over-designed and ultimately looks sort of ridiculous unless it's justified in some way that makes it less distracting.

Doubt it will. I still have no real issue with it to the point it would ruin the movie.

It won't ruin the movie, but it could have a serious effect on the character and how he's percieved.

I'd disagree as so much was already built up for you in the previous movie. It's be hard to ignore that. Plus, some of that makes sense for a war. Now he's kind of in a different fight.

EDIT: My actual favorite suit for the Cap film was the ad hoc one for his rescue of Bucky.

I like that one too.

This is a different movie, something being built up can go either way so that point doesn't really mean anything. Yet again on this forum we've just got a difference of opinion, neither one of us is wrong.

There may be a reason for the new suit, might be a stronger material then his last suit was. Only so it's somewhat in par with Tony's suit and Thor's armor.

Then why are they not wearing something lighter? Maybe their strength, but still to say those materials are somehow just more durable is a cop out.

The Hulk was awful.
Thor was awful.
Wolverine was awful.
Spiderman was awful.
Iron Man was awful.

Why would this be any different?

The only good superhero film was Dark Knight, and that's only because Nolan made sure it wasn't a superhero flick.
