Elegant music reverberated off the walls as the sun sat high within the clear skies of Indupdar, signaling the time in which guests were meant to start arriving for the charity gala. The event had been organized by the prince and recently appointed Governor of Indupar, Galek Ordalos, as a way to raise money for AMS relief effort. As such, formal invitations had been sent out to Governors, Senators and other high-ranking members of society from across the galaxy - regardless of whether they represented the ISC, Free Worlds Alliance or the Republic.
Indupar was a neutral world after all, one which had been carefully weighing the benefits of throwing their lot in which any of the rivaling factions. With any luck, Galek would have the opportunity to interact with representatives of all of them tonight. Perhaps they would have the opportunity to sway his decision.
The royal villa where the dinner was hosted at had been chosen deliberately, a choice made to avoid the hustle-and-bustle that came with the capital, while also flaunting the vast natural beauty that the planet was known for. The grand hall where they were led was spacious, with several rows of tables lined against the walls of the room, piled high with the finest entrees this side of the galaxy – leaving the center of the room open for socialization and dancing. The left-most wall of the hall meanwhile opened into a wide pillared balcony with additional tables and seating areas, providing those in attendance with an absolutely stunning view of the rushing rivers and towering waterfalls that surrounded the estate.
While reporters on inside of the event had thankfully been kept to a minimum per Galek's orders, the prospect of so many important figures in a single place brought them to cluster along the sides of the literal red carpet laid out at the the estate entrance – journalists and photographers alike desperate to catch a glimpse of who would be the first to enter.
Positioned at the center of the hall, Galek stood with a flute of champagne in one hand, watching with glee as dozens of server droids and attendants flitted about the room, hauling trays filled with flutes of champagne, wine glasses and a variety of exotic hor d’oeurves. The prince was adorned in a finely tailored white suit with elegant gold trim, ever-so-stylishly accessorized with an aurodium chrono on his wrist. He intended on making a memorable first impression, after all, and his choice of attire would certainly contribute to that effort.
“Guests are just arriving, Your Highness.” An attendant spoke up.
Galek smiled at the prospect, bringing the flute to his lips. “Good, good. Please see them inside.”
Let us make this a night to remember.
