ISCCT
Independent Systems Consortium Core Taskforces

A sub-section of the ISC Navy as a whole, the ISCCT is a collection of fleets operating within ISC space as it is found within the Deep Core, Core Worlds and Colonies sections of the Galaxy. Due to the physical distance between the ISC planets within these areas and the locations primarily used by the ISC Navy as a whole, the composition and directives of the ISCCT fleets are different to those of the standard ISC Navy.

Partially due to the massive local population, much of the ISCCT is less automated than comparable fleets within the bulk of the ISC Navy. This was a decision made to bolster the economy within these areas by giving young people a chance to join an active military directly involved in defending their homes rather than attacking the Sith or Mandalorians.

Again, due to location, the composition of the fleets more heavily focused on Corellian and Rendili made ships and equipment. Many of these designed had once been technology limited to the FWA but with Corellia moving to become part of the ISC, their shipyards brought along these designs as well.

Definitions

• Independent Systems Consortium Core Taskforce
  • A "Taskforce" in this definition is a collection of Fleets (three during peacetime, five during war) operating under a central command structure. They are structured to allow Fleet Admirals of said Fleets to operate with minimal oversight but with a High Admiral ready to command them together should the need arise for the Fleets to be joined together to face a threat.
• Independent Systems Consortium Core Fleet
  • A "Fleet" in this definition is one part of a "Taskforce", commanded by a Fleet Admiral and given general orders along with freedom to make their own decisions to meet their objectives. A powerful fleet by any modern standards, Fleets are trained amongst other members of their Taskforce to make sure they can operate solo or together.
• Taskforce Command
  • One of four locations where command of a Taskforce is based during peace time. During war time this is a mobile position, often located within a the flagship of the Taskforce that it is commanding. Taskforce Command is often made of several different tiers of Naval officers with a High Admiral in overall command.

Command Structure

• High Admirals
  • High Admirals are charged with the command of a Taskforce within the ISCCT, comprised of three fleets during peace time. Although their command staff is made of Fleet Admirals and other naval officers, they are the end of the line when it comes to command structure within their Taskforces.
  • Fleet Admirals
    • Fleet Admirals are the officers in overall command of the collection of ships that make up one of the ISCCT Fleets. Typically they can be served by multiple captains or, depending on their leadership style, delegate to commanders under their direct command. With the commissioning and rolling out of each new ISCCT Fleet, a Fleet Admiral will be selected from Commanders ready for promotion.
  • Commanders
    • Commanders are officers charged with overseeing a collection of Captains from various vessels and are typically granted command of either a section of one of the ISCCT Fleets or selected to be part of Taskforce Command.
  • Captains
    • Captains are the lowest rank of commanding officer within the ISC Navy, serving as the commanding officer of either a single capital ship or a squadron of Starfighters. Captains are expected to maintain discipline within their commands and obey the orders of Commanders and Fleet Admirals they serve under; however they are typically given some leeway in how to follow these orders to ensure they have a chance to distinguish themselves and, in the case of bad orders, better protect those who serve under them.
  • NCOs
    • Non-Commissioned Officers are those charged with making sure that the orders given by the Captains are acted by the Ensigns, allowing the Captains (and those above them) to focus on the tactical and strategic implications of each action. The NCOs just make sure that the actions actually happen in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Ensigns
    • The “grunts” of the ISC navy that do the tasks that keep the ships flying, shooting and surviving return fire. As an institution based on merit of service, Ensigns have a very real chance of being promoted should they distinguish themselves.
  
  Locations
  • Taskforce Command Centres
    • Where the Taskforce Command for each of the ISCCTs can be found. These locations were selected for their central nature and ability to build, rearm, re-equip and repair ships within the Taskforces. Typically at least one Fleet of a Taskforce stays at its designated Taskforce Command Centre to act as additional defence alongside the Planetary Defence Forces.
