CHISS UNIFORM

Chiss uniforms were used by the Chiss Defense Force, including the Chiss Expansionary Defense Fleet. They are unique to those enrolled in the Chiss military.

Each Chiss uniform has shoulder patches displaying either the insignia of their Chiss family or the Ascendency. The owner's military rank is indicated via silver bars on the collar unless the owner was a cadet. Chiss uniforms are black for any military personnel below flag rank (Commodore). Upon reaching the rank of Commodore, Chiss officers are stripped of their family ties and receive a white uniform with the insignia of the Chiss Ascendancy instead.

LEGALITY

There is nothing illegal about these armored uniforms, though wearing them outside of Chiss military operations may bring curious gazes and potentially even questioning from authority.

INTENT

To bring a canon uniform on site for use by characters associated with the Chiss militaries.

RESTRICTIONS

Chiss uniforms are exclusively owned by members of the Chiss military, such as the Chiss Defense Force or the Chiss Expansionary Defense Fleet. It is extremely unlikely that any non-Chiss would have access to this uniform unless they have stolen it from an enlisted officer, thus this uniform is restricted to members of the Chiss military.

DESCRIPTION
The JMRN M19 handgun is a standard-issue weapon for members of the Chiss Expansionary Defense Fleet and is thus considered an iconic weapon to many Chiss. It has a sleek, modern design and was developed to be both easy to aim with and comfortable to hold for the military officers which carry the weapon. The M19 replaced other handguns as the standard-issued weapon when it was created around 48 ABY, trading larger, clunkier designs for something smaller and more easily carried in uniform.

As a charric weapon, the JMRN M19 fires a blue beam that is unable to be reflected by lightsabers, but can still be blocked. The damage is otherwise identical to other blasters found in the galaxy.

The JMRN M19 has a shorter range than most other pistols or handguns and its effectiveness past twenty meters is significantly reduced.

LEGALITY
Because charric-energy weapons are unknown to most of the galaxy and inflict a damage type heavier than the usual pistol, the JMRN M19 might be considered illegal in systems where the open-carry of medium- or heavy-type weapons is prohibited. Within Chiss space, they are legally carried by Chiss Officers.

INTENT
To bring in a charric energy weapon for use by characters of the Chiss Ascendancy with a characteristic of the weapon detailed in Legends and mentioned in Canon.

RESTRICTIONS
The JMRN M19 is produced by a Chiss weapons manufacturer on *Jamicron, a planet within Chiss space. Additionally, they are standard-issued to members of the Chiss militaries. Therefore, the handgun is restricted to members of the Chiss Ascendency.

DESCRIPTION
Epidermal disguise technology allows the user to disguise themselves as a different person by changing the color of their skin. To use the substance, one applies the "mask" to their skin and waits for twenty or some minutes for the material to settle into their features. After being applied, the disguise can last up to three days with gentle use, or as short as a day in places where wear and tear are more likely to occur. The mold will then need to be removed and replaced. While it's thin enough to mold itself over the lips, nose, and even the eyelids, it can't do anything to change eye color, teeth, or hair.

It's not exactly known when this technology was first created as "disguise kits" and the like have been around for tens of millennia. Such time has given the technology a chance to fully develop, and someone wearing the epidermal disguise technology - if they apply it correctly - will look mostly normal.

LEGALITY
The technology itself isn't illegal in most places, but using it to avoid run-ins with the law, to infiltrate places one would otherwise be disallowed from, etc., might create trouble for any characters found out to be using it.

INTENT
To create a basic but effective disguise technology for use by infiltrator/spy type characters.

RESTRICTIONS
There are no restrictions per faction. Currently, the technology only works for humanoid or human-like skin types, and will need to be replaced after three days of gentle use or exposure to: high-pressure water, extreme heat, extreme cold, corrosive materials, or any punctures and cuts.

DESCRIPTION
The ARAC-series Oranimals are a series of arachnid-like droids produced by Orautomatons. Unlike other Oranimals, the ARC-series droids are marketed more toward professionals such as electricians, mechanics, and other technicians. The ARAC-series droids are small and versatile, able to transverse small and difficult spaces that might otherwise be inaccessible. Toggleable magnets have been built into each of the droid's legs to allow it to move across vertical surfaces or ceilings as needed. Additionally, the droid includes several tools to allow it to function as an extension of its owner. Two of the legs are outfitted with fusion cutters, the two front legs are outfitted with spark projectors, and there is a computer probe installed in the underside of the ARAC-series droids' abdomens. The droid's photoreceptors allow its owner to see through its eyes, and its audio box and integrate Hush-98 comlink allow its owner to communicate as needed.

The intended use for the ARAC-series Oranimal is as a tool for technicians, but the droid's versatility has caught the eye of less-than-honest workers. Its stealth and computer probe allow it to be used for slicing attempts, and its spark projectors can be overclocked to produce a shock great enough to overheat and disable some droids. The latter ability, however, will drain the droid's battery completely and render it useless until it is recharged and repaired. The droid can also store up to a terabyte of data within its hard drive.

Despite its marketing as a tool, the ARAC-series droids can just as easily function as a companion droid. If desired, the droid can be enabled to communicate, though it can only speak in Binary. The droid's programming allows it high processing speeds and an AI that allows it to problem solve and come to logical conclusions based off given commands.

Due to its makeup, the ARAC-series is a solid droid and weighs a decent amount of pounds. Unlike many of the Oranimal droids, due to its programming, the ARAC-series droids have a more logical, simple 'personality' and are not known for developing personality quirks.

The ARC-series Oranimal is the second Oranimal series to be released by Orautomatons and was released shortly after founder Ora Trel field-tested the prototype droid.

DESCRIPTION
Acklay blades are a rare cybernetic installed in cybernetic forearms. While inactive, the blades are completely concealed, with the only hints of their existence being the seams in a metallic or skin-grafted forearm. When deployed they spring up, out, and forward in a split second, making them a coveted (but very expensive) assassination tool.

The blades consist of three parts: the blade, the arm, and the 'bone'. The blade is functionally the same as a vibroblade, though cheaper installations may forgo the feature. The arm connects the back of the blade to the 'bone' by the wrist and includes shock and locking mechanisms that strengthen the joint and prevent the weapon from being broken off at either end without significant pressure. The joint that connects to the blade allows 120° of movement. The 'bone' replaces the forearm's skeletal structure with a lightweight but strong aluminum that provides a base for the weapon. The bone also includes a locking mechanism that keeps the blades concealed.

Acklay blades must be deployed and unlocked via either a trigger, switch, or button. The blades can be easily prevented from deploying, needing only the slightest resistance to be stopped, but once deployed, the locking mechanism makes it impossible to forcibly retract them back into place. It is possible to deploy only one blade.

Acklay blades differ from person to person in design, length, etc. For example, blades installed in the forearm of a petite human would be significantly shorter and lighter and a pair installed in a muscular Orcolan. It is necessary to note the length of the blade past the wrist on a character sheet.

The blades always require an entirely cybernetic arm to be installed, as the installation process cannot function in an organic arm. The cost of material and the cost of a ripperdoc to install it for someone makes this weapon inaccessible to most low-level criminals, and the price is further increased by anyone wanting to replace an organic arm with an inorganic one to install it.

LEGALITY
Like many dangerous cybernetics, acklay blades are technically illegal to install in most civilized systems. Those who have them installed will have to deal with legal grey areas when present in areas marked 'no weapons allowed' and may face difficulties (including but not limited to legal trouble).

INTENT
To develop a cool cybernetic for cyborg characters to acquire if desired, and to create a unique sort of melee weapon for combat.

RESTRICTIONS
- Can only be installed in fully cybernetic forearms (including hands).
- They are NOT force-user compatible.
- Guns or other weapons cannot be held or used while the cybernetic is activated. The user will lose the use of their hands during activation.
- NOT compatible with forearm armor, as the acklay blades cannot be activated if something is blocking their way.
- Additionally, NOT compatible with armor functions that affect the arm, like shields or wrist rockets.

DESCRIPTION
"Daisy" is a Haxion Brood Bounty Droid that @Ora Trel reprogrammed and refurbished into a labor droid after deactivating and disassembling it to defend herself after the Haxion Brood forcibly boarded her ship. After returning to Coruscant, she analyzed the droid's AI, and once satisfied, proceeded to wipe its memory and program it into a labor droid she could use for manual labor around the Orautomatons warehouse.

All weapons and aggressive-nature programming have been removed from the droid and replaced with a good-natured desire to help out and move big boxes. Its voice box was tinkered with to produce a higher-pitched and more feminine sound, and "Daisy" was given a fresh and flowery new paint job to go along.

LEGALITY
Probably legal. Since all weapons have been removed from "Daisy" and its reprogramming has rendered it docile and friendly, the droid itself is no longer functionally a "battle" or "bounty" droid.

INTENT
To create a write up for the droid that Ora disassembled and reprogrammed.

RESTRICTIONS
This is a unique model owned by Ora and cannot be used unless it is stolen or lent out.

S U M M A R Y​

Imani Din is a 25-year-old tiefling champion working within the Sith Empire's ISB and its interplanetary operations department. She is 5'7", weighs about 140lbs, and is a trained force-sensitive and Matukai martial artist.






...B I O G R A P H Y​

Imani was born on Bandomeer and is one of the oldest of her nine siblings. The village she grew up in had a heavy Matukai influence, and she spent a good portion of her youth practicing martial arts. Though her childhood was far happier than most kids, Imani felt little connection to her home and longed to wander the stars. Shortly after her sixteenth birthday, the girl applied to the Sith Korriban academy, got in, and then said goodbye to her family. She received the academy's highest academic scholarship just short of a full ride, and her family chipped in to help her pay for the rest.

Coming from a close-knit family of farmers, life at the academy was a tough transition for Imani. It tested her in ways she had never expected, but when it came down to adapting or falling behind, she was able to get herself up and over those hurdles. After graduating with top marks, Imani joined the Imperial Intelligence agency where she deals with the more diplomatic, political, and espionage-based fields of the Sith war machine. Most of her work is done behind the scenes, through deep dives on the computer, instructions given commlink, and/or interrogating individuals.

Matukai martial arts. As she was raised in a Matukai family, Imani grew up learning the Matukai martial arts. She is an expert in the art and is able to use the Force to augment her body into a weapon. She is also proficient in the use of her wan-shen and prefers it over a lightsaber.

Intelligence. Her focus in school was on the more stuble side of things, namely manipulation tactics, diplomacy, etc., and it led to her being both very charismatic and smart with people. She's also just generally an academic person and has been the go-to sibling for homework help for years.

The triangle. Though most of the Din family is musical in some way, shape, or form, Imani missed out on that gene. She can play a mean triangle though. If you're lucky, she might even pull out the tambourine!

S U M M A R Y​

Juno, most commonly known as Mars, is a 22-year-old, cybernetically-enhanced human girl living and a former member of the "Cyberpunk" gang. She's 5'4", weighs 125 lbs, and is not Force-sensitive.


...B I O G R A P H Y​

Juno was born an orphan, or at least, that's all she can assume. At some point in her childhood, Juno got into an accident that left her with permanent damage to her body. Luckily for her, she was found and taken in by a man known as Bryn. He brought her back to health, but the rescue came with a price. In order to save her life, he had to replace parts of her with cybernetics - including one of her eyes. Though shocked and conflicted about the new cybernetics she had to live with, Juno was indebted to the man who had saved her. With no family to miss her and nowhere else to go, she decided to allow him to take her under his wing.

Bryn was the leader of a gang called the "Cyberpunks" located on Level 2077. While not a violent nuisance to the public, the gang often got into altercations with other gangs and specific targets. Her new "father", along with other cybernetically-enchanced members of the gang, taught her how to tinker with her own and others' cybernetics.

In her early teens, Juno began to go almost exclusively by "Mars" and began to work "under the radar," so to speak. Along with her friends Sam and Tess, Juno began to be sent on covert missions for the gang. The older she got, the more dangerous the missions gradually became until she and her friends were essentially working as hitmen. The three would sometimes work in tandem, and other times, Juno would set out alone.

Juno continued to work for the Cyberpunks until most, if not all, of the gang, was wiped out in a coordinated attack between law enforcement and a rival gang after hitting one too many high-profile targets. Bryn survived but was placed in the Coruscant prison, and Juno was forced to flee her former home. She's since struck out on her own, looking for jobs in her field of expertise, hoping one day to free the man somehow. Keeping in line with her still-criminal ways, Juno has turned to work within the Five Syndicates and contract killings.

Cybernetic installation. Juno previously trained under one of the ripper-docs in her gang, and as a result of that, she's learned how to install and upgrade cybernetics in herself an dothers. With the right equipment, there's a lot she can do.

Slicing. Juno is a decent slicer and knows her way around the cybernet.

Combat. Hand-to-hand, melee weapon, & blasters. Her experience mostly revolves around covert, assassin-esque missions where speed and accuracy is emphasized.

The Din Family

The Din Family is a large family of tiefling Matukai martial artists and farmers located on the agricultural planet, Bandomeer.

The original Din's moved to Bandomeer from the tiefling homeworld of Abelor several generations ago and settled in the flatlands of the south. They became farmers and, in the present day, now own several hundred acres of farmland. They grow several types of crops such as wheat, potatoes, beans, maize, etc., though the type of crops grown is rotated each year to maintain the quality of the soil. The family also kept a bit of livestock.

Though the original Din's became farmers, they brought with them their Matukai traditions and continued to maintain the skills and knowledge of the martial art through the generations. The martial art is incredibly important to the family, and every child grows up being trained by their parents and older siblings.


Characteristics​
  • As a result of living on Bandomer, the Din family speaks almost exclusively Meerian at home, and as farmers, they have a strong country or southern twang to their accent, even in Basic.

    The structure, rhythm, and musicality of Meerian is similar to Spanish in the real world.

    Most of the Din family have short, two- or three-syllable names inspired by Arabic names in the real world.

  • Most, if not all, members of the Din family grow up learning Matukai martial arts. It's ingrained into them, and mastery of the martial forms is almost considered like a rite of passage to adulthood.

Homestead​
  • The Din Family home is, quaint, actually quite large, and has been in the Din family for generators. The house has been repaired and expanded countless times to account for the ever-growing and ever-changing family with the newest additions general being extra rooms.

    The house is two stories tall and the entirety of the upstairs consists of current or former bedrooms, plus a bathroom. The downstairs has a kitchen, a very large dining room, two living rooms, more bathrooms, and even more bedrooms, including the master.

  • The farm stretches out for miles and miles from the house and is split up by wide dirt roads on which the family drives the farm vehicles. The livestock are closest to the house by the barn where they and some of the vehicles are kept, and the wheat fields are usually the furthest out.

Nijole's origins are unknown to her. The child's earliest memories were of sterile gray ceilings and dark, red-hued corridors; the child knew only of cold, uncaring overseers and structured repetitive days. She was brought to a fairly small Cadre station located in dead space, given the identification of "0555", and referred to as such for the first several years of her life until she earned her name. In reality, she was probably either sold or given to the facility, or stolen from her parents, after her force sensitivity was discovered.

The Cadre is infamous for its brutal programs designed to create loyal soldiers for the Sith, but its cruelty goes deeper than just that. Nijole was one of the first to be "enrolled" in a small, experimental group of about eleven others. She was kept separate from the other Cadre students at her facility and forced to undergo Dark Side rituals day in and day out for the first ten-some years of her life. These rituals took advantage of her young, developing brain to mold her into her overseers' desired form. Nijole's only interaction with others outside of this program came on the rare occasion which she and the others were pit against the regular students, forced to fight and compete against them to determine whether the experiments were succeeding in their purpose or not.

The goal of the experiments was to strip the children of all emotion through relentless exposure to the Dark Side, leaving only the empty hatred of it, without having to put them through the same rigorous regiments as the regular students. They would spend days immobilized in the midst of Dark Side sorcerers, alchemists, and inquisitors, forced to absorb the pain, pressure, and hunger of the Dark Side rather than receive the beatings and punishments of the others. They weren't supposed to feel, and that emptiness was supposed to transform them into weapons for the Sith to control and use as needed.

One by one, children enrolled in the program were bested and killed in the fights against the regular students. By the time the program was declared a failure and Nijole and the remaining enrolled were ushered off to join the regular students, only six of them remained. Adjusting to the "normal" life at the Cadre academy proved difficult for her, buf so far she has managed her way.

DESCRIPTION
Translator jaws are one of the more common advanced cybernetics seen throughout the galaxy. The cybernetic, much like personal translator masks, takes the speech of the wearer and translates it to the desired language.

The translator jaw actually extends down into the neck too, and it works by parsing data taken from the vocal chords to a language database, then to audio which can be heard out of the mouth.
