"If you don't mind missy, I used to be a swoop racer. You give me the wheel and I'll get us there in no time at all. I got me a space yacht I'm just itching to fly against these bugs." Dusty told Trini - well prepared to do exactly that if Trini let him drive. If she didn't, he'd get in the back of the truck with Kyle and aim his pistol behind them, ready to blast any being that looked vaguely buggish that decided to follow them.

Hyperspace ripped away from Null's jet-black Lancer Pursuit Craft, revealing the beautifully horrifying chaos that had befallen the system. The raven-haired young man in the pilot's seat swelled with purpose as he tried to bury the creeping fear that lurked in his chest. If he hadn't seen the broadcast then he might've been unprepared for the unbelievable reality before him, but now only one thing was on his mind.

"Celeste..."
The guilt festered within his core, amplified regret that had been devouring him ever since he'd decided to abandon her -- but not this time...

The fabric of his deactivated shock gloves flexed with a soft creak as he tried to push back the initial hesitation that paralyzed him. Azure jets of flame flared out of the back of the Lancer's thrusters as Null punched it to suddenly accelerate and shoot the starship forward at maximum speed.

"Please be alive..."
A sinking feeling caught in his throat. The Lancer whipped up around another craft as the determined bodyguard skillfully weaved the ship between as many others as he could that were inbound for the planet, flying as close as he could get away with to put them between him and the rest of the swarming hostiles.

Null's bright blues flickered with a gleam of light before closing. His ethereal Sense rippled out through the chaos, nearly overwhelming him as he tried to feel for any sign of the one he came to save. And then, after a few dangerous moments of flying blind, the faint familiar glow of her essence sparked like a pin of light in the vast abyss of madness.

His eyes shot open.
"I'm coming."

Hope bled through dread as Null shifted direction and dipped out of the tentative safety of the nearby ships. The bow of his Lancer sharply dove into the planet's atmosphere, his concentration focused on maintaining his Sense of Celeste through the mass of life buzzing in his mind.

Barely breaking before punching into the atmosphere, a red hot glow burst up from under the ship, dangerously being pushed to its limit in the immense forces of atmospheric reentry at high speed. He was sure he heard something rip away from the ship, but with the overflowing determination flooding his nerves he pushed through, ignoring the damage that was being done to the ship in the risky entry before finally blasting through the threshold. The Lancer soared wide and arched through the air as it barreled toward the side of the dome where Null could feel his Bond with Celeste thrumming behind the hefty structure between them.

"S, get ready to fire the forward turrets straight ahead, and don't stop 'til I say!" The young man yelled to the Lancer's Smart Ship AI as he slammed back on the controls and deployed the reverse thrusters just long enough to bring the ship's front screaming to a halt just a few dozen meters from the side of the dome, lining the nose up with a spot that he hoped would be a safe distance away from Celeste and anyone else that might be in her vicinity.

"Aye, Captain." The calm AI echoed over the ship's internal audio system. Null then took in a deep breath, yanked the controls to the left, and tried to keep himself steady as he began to spin the Lancer in place with its nose remaining aimed at the same spot.

"Fire!"
The pursuit craft's two forward twin light laser cannons would begin to release an unrelenting barrage at the wall, gradually intensifying with the gaining acceleration of the ship's counterclockwise rotation. His teeth clenched tight along with all of his muscles as he tried to remain stable enough in his seat to continue spinning the Lancer in place and firing ahead until he'd hopefully do enough damage to punch a hole into the side of the structure.

1x Lancer Pursuit Craft
- Which is currently spinning in place outside the dome and trying to blast a hole in the wall near Celeste's location (a reasonably "safe distance" away from her).

Everything happened all at once. There was even more retching. Blaster fire rang out. Politicians screamed. Rescue teams poured in through the exits. Arcturus sent the tainted creature skittering backward, while Sith operatives surrounded it in a headlong charge. It resisted Amira's hold, twisting and writhing against the pull of the force that enveloped it, and the endeavor—to hold it in place—required all of the concentration she possessed. There was nothing natural about it, in the way it cried out or its presence in the force, but there was one small mercy, even in its inhumanity—that it bled just the same as they did.

One Sith was able to draw its blood before the Grandmaster began to literally rend the creature in half, pummeling the insect from behind with punches equivalent to a mule's kick. He was drawn up in sable armor, his face hidden beneath a helmet of duraplast, but those four horns and his presence in the force were unmistakable. No matter how many years had passed since they'd last seen one another, and no matter the distance they'd crossed, Amira knew who that was. Altair.

"ALTAIR!" she called out to him, hands still extended toward the monster, as if they were at a family reunion on Bandoomer rather than fighting for their lives inside of a dome infected with creatures the galaxy had not seen for centuries. Were it not for his horns, as unique and signature as fingerprints amongst Tieflings, and that familial pull she could feel in the force, she wouldn't have recognized him. And not just because he was wearing a mask. He was utterly changed, no longer the adorable, chubby little brother she had said goodbye to on Bandomeer. "HOLY KRIFF! WHEN DID YOU GET SO JACKED?" (@Sreeya )

Someone was calling her name, his voice familiar. A voice she hadn't heard since... Almas. Sol? Still trying to hold the creature in place, she didn't see the lightsaber thrown her direction, and its hilt smacked her right in the face. Immediately, her hold on the tainted was lost, and she stumbled backwards a few steps, reeling, the lightsaber falling to the floor at her feet. From behind her, Governor Omah had already taken aim and fired. Two red blaster bolts struck her arm, the plasma's heat searing her dark clothing and vaporizing the flesh beneath. The Champion's entire body heaved, each breath erratic and labored as her blood boiled beneath the wound. (@Mr. Teatime )

Is this payback for throwing up all over your shoes? she projected to the Wrean, currently going toe to toe with three or four of the creatures at the bottom of the stairs. Later, if they made it out of here alive, maybe she would be able to laugh about it. Later, perhaps, but not right now. The Champion reached down and picked up the lightsaber with her uninjured arm, to defend herself against any more incoming blaster bolts and, if she was able, to lop off Governor Omah's hand. The crimson blade hissed to life.

So that Force Push only staggered the beast, Arcturus thought he had the power to knock it over, but at least with the combined efforts of the Sith who came (@Sreeya, @Mr. Teatime). "Great timing" he would then smirk as he looked upon them. The Sith Governor didn't even acknowledge the Jedi Grandmaster's efforts. With the arrival of those two, perhaps they can get out of this place...

Things were getting very chaotic very quick however. The Governor of New Alderaan would then find himself beset by a a dug senator, coming at him. The dug would leap in the air, but the Governor was no helpless man. With a wave of his hand upward, the dug, if Arcturus has his way, would find itself pulled with the force into the air and slammed into the ceiling with force. Effectively if successful would be swatting the dug away. It would happen before the traitor ex-Sith Senator would be able to react to it. If successful, the Governor would glare at Celeste (@LadyRen) with contempt with his corrupted golden eyes. As if Arcturus needs help from the likes of her.

If the dug is knocked out, and other immediate threats to him are neutralized... he would look towards Amira who appears to suffered damage from this Governor Omah. Amira may or may not need some assistance... Arcturus would be ready to react to other threats as needed in this disorderly battlefield...

tl;dr arcturus yeets the dug into a ceiling with da force and looks at amira if immediate threats cleared

There was an abundance of pure chaos going on. She'd called out for everyone to get moving, but instead, there were guns being fired wildly into the crowd, senators tumbling downstairs, and others doing fuck all. On the bright side, it seemed that the building had some new, unexpected visitors. The good kind this time.

"Damnit Xy, wake up!" Thea could certainly run with the princess in her arms, but she couldn't do that and fight off bug attacks. So while she had a moment to spare, the Guardian lowered Xyla to the ground and began to gently shake the woman's shoulders. "My lady, please!"

-----

"Ugh... is it over? Was I drea...ming..." Xyla opened her eyes to chaos that was unfortunately not a dream and unfortunately still going on. With a steady hand from Thea, she was pulled up from the ground and returned hastily to reality. Her eyes widened, doe-like and wide like saucers as they jumped from bug to bug, to bug to bug. "Oh... my..." She felt faint, and a bit sick.

"My lady, please, I need you to try and stay calm—"

"CALM?" The indignation in Xyla's voice was strikingly apparent. "These bugs are bigger than me Thea! HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO STAY CALM?" Warmth rushed to her cheeks and the faintness she'd felt moments before was now replaced with hot irritation.

"At least stay calm enough to stay awake."

Xyla bit her cheek and glanced away, a tad embarrassed. She could see the former Sith senator fighting off some of the senators-gone-made, the ISC's Neimoidian firing a gun wildly in the crowd, and two other ISC governors - Galek and the Twi'lek - rushing over to join a group of ISC soldiers. She turned back, made eye contact with Thea, and the two quickly made a beeline for what looked like an extraction team.

Thea wakes Xyla up, they interact, and then they bolt over to join the ISC soldiers bc safety.

Space

Klaxon alarms begun to sound as the sensors picked up on something unusual. Tiamat watched as new stations appeared on the holomap and she had to do a double take as one of the technicians announced what she saw also.

Those are no asteroids ma’am, they’re space stations.

Tiamat said nothing for a moment as the trap was sprung on the Sith, ISC, and Hutt fleets. Her mind rapid churning as a new plan quickly formed. She watched as two of the Pugio-class frigates fired upon the Ruusan destroy that took the brunt of the ion attack. With no shields or engines, it was a sitting womp rat even if it continued firing; the heavy armor and shielding of the Pugio-class would give it adequate defenses to finish off the destroyer as the turrets rained into the ship before returning to formation.

Move to defensive formation,” Tiamat ordered as she watched the fighters leave from the asteroids, “Give the terra group (@The Good Doctor @Sreeya @llamallove @Soleil Altan) a warning, we’re on a limited time.” She turned, watching as the swarming enemy fighters begin to fire on ships. “Hyperdrives on standby, this will be a tight jump with how asteroids are positioned.” She said watching the enemy fighters move in observed chaos, but there was a sophistication to their movements, it took algorithms and advanced calculations to not run into another. The enemy moved to overwhelm; the sith frigates and carriers moved in formation to further protect the cruiser from the enemy fighters. The corvettes moved to break through the swarms, forcing them to scatter, before regrouping if they were able to escape the sith TIEs that looked to wipe them from existence.

Tiamat knew by the end, heavy damage was inevitable, getting past the asteroid bases was not impossible though they would be hurting once they jump safely.

1. Pugio-class frigates target the disabled albeit weapon firing destroyer in an attempt to render it null.
2. Tiamat calls for a defense formation, the frigates and carriers which are more heavily armored move in closer to the liberty-class cruiser, but not so close that if they are destroyed, it hurts the cruiser. They are defending against the dart fighters.
3. The corvettes and fighters which are more nimble, are still closer to the fleet but are able to engage by disrupting movement patterns of the dart fighters to better take them out.
4. Running hyperspace calculations on all available ships to move in a direction that will allow them to jump.

Alex had grown used to control. Her mind and body in perfect synch. The world around her bending to her needs. Her life was control. Control of herself, control of the Order, control of the world around her. The Morellian Jedi found herself surrounded by a chaos that would not be controlled. There were too many voices…too many factions…all striving for the same outcome. Safety. The panicked civilians only added to that chaos. They all worked as small groups, trying to save their own. They needed to work together. A nearly impossible proposition as the din of battle rose. Think Alex.

Her internal musing was set aside as the tainted Killik ripped in two. Hot blood spraying in the hallway. As she worked, she heard the voice of the Chalactan senator. A hand gripped her robes. She moved to push him gently back in the Force. It would do neither of them any good to have her distracted. The Force screamed warning in her mind. Ah…too late. Alex turned to throw her body to the side. Pain bit deeply into her. Her left hand sending a shockwave at the Joined Senator. Enough to get him away…but not enough to mortally wound. The Joined were still people even if their mind belonged to the hive. The Grandmaster was too slow. The blade bit deeply into her side, her movement just barely turning the blade so it scarped against her rib instead of taking her lung. Her face became a pained masked. Her left-hand smacking to her side to stop the bleeding. The Force poured into her palm as blood spilled between her fingers. Breath. The wound slowly healed, enough for the bleeding to stop, but she had no time to finish the job.

Alex scanned the area, the club still in her hand. The Representatives who had been left came pouring behind them. She sighed trying to remind herself they could not all have been saved. Save as many as you can…that was the goal. At that moment she felt a familiar presence in the light. A Jedi! The sound of turbo laser fire followed. The dome shook. Alarm growing. Her mind flashed to the Jedi. “Stop…now! You’ll cave in the dome!” (@Null) The structure was already weak. Ahead and behind they were nearly trapped. “We have to move together.” She raised her voice again. The winds continued to remain hers to command. Carefully, she sent them howling back towards the chamber. Avoiding her those fighting with her, gales shoved at anyone trying to reach them from the audience. Hopefully enough to keep them from the hallway. The full strength of Force remained roaring in her fingertips.

Alex is stabbed by the senator but narrowly manages to avoid her lung being punctured. She hits him with the Force to send him backward. She then tells Null to stop firing before sending the wind carefully down the hallway to push the Joiners back into the Chamber.

Altair felt his fist punch through the shell and he didn’t stop their, his vicious attack intended to push through in an attempt at yanking out viscera and finally kill the tainted monster. Whether his attempt worked or not, he knew the creature was largely immobilized either way from the concerted efforts of the others. The tiefling sprang off its back, glancing up as the Jedi called out about a spare saber. Altair had none, but his jaw tightened beneath his helmet. He then did something he never thought he would in a million years - he reached for his collapsible Force enhanced wan-shen and extended the spear to its full length. He aimed and hurled it directly at the Joiner that attacked the grandmaster, unfortunately a moment too late but thrown nonetheless. The aim would be to skewer the joiner in the chest, “Use that,” Altair called out to the Grandmaster before whipping around. (@Valen Pelora )

It was then that he realized the Senators were attempting to go down the stairs where he could clearly see more Killik and Soleil fighting. Altair looked back towards the ISC soldiers and the group, “DON'T BRING THEM THIS WAY! THERE ARE MORE OF THE BUGS DOWN THERE!” He aggressively pointed back towards where the emergency exits were along with the shattered windows in the main chamber. Altair reached for his commlink (@GABA), “Bring the landing shuttle back to flank the windows. Avoid fire!” The comms were sent up to Imperial fleets so a shuttle would begin to come back around. The senators would have a small opportunity to jump into it and join the larger Imperial fleet to hyperjump away. Their other option would be to take the emergency exits if they so choose.

The Sith and Imperials that came in with Altair were ordered to engage the Joiners and fire indiscriminately on them in an attempt to clear the chambers.

Altair didn’t stop to see what was happening and he wouldn’t stop any foolish Senator from continuing down the stairs. He charged down the stairs to stall the other Killik, calling on inferno to engulf one of the bugs. The goal was to superheat the exterior and cook it within its shell. He turned to spot one of the ISC Senators (@Sicadorito ) at the bottom of the stairs rushing up.

“Go go go!” He called out to her, hoping his attacks on the Killik would allow her a path to squeeze through past him.

Finishing move attempt on the tainted killik by yanking out brains. He hurls his spear at the joiner that stabs Alex to give her an extra weapon. Altair tells senators to run towards emergency exits and calls a shuttle to hover near one of the broken windows. Altair then launches an attack to cook one of the bugs bottom of stairs attempt. Altair's npcs are engaging joiners in main chamber.

Victoria took extra caution to avoid being seen by the large ugly bugs, trying to hide behind the large wookie silhouette. She saw others head fighting, yelling out "Yeah get them!, we're not afraid!" before diving back behind someone as her voice caught one's attention. It was almost like she ran out of time to think about what to do.

Her time would come, but it certainly wasn't any time soon, she thought.

Syl was no Han Solo, she had seen the old holos of him pulling of crazy maneuvers like drifting lazily to the left and somehow outwitting a whole-ass Imeprial Star Destroyer, something that was well beyond her capabilities. But the chaos that surrounded the planet, that she could try and survive.

Her ship ducked and weaved, dipping under a ship, looping around a chunk of space full of friendly and buggy starfighters, and if left unmolested finally making atmospheric entry. She would head towards the dome, locking in on the heavy concentration of Jedi and Sith burning brightly in the Force as they fought for their lives.

She reached the dome, and was greeted by the sight of another ship firing at the dome, and suddenly the Force was filled with a warning to stop before the roof came down. Not sure if the pilot had heard, she opened her comms and reiterated the command.

"Pilot," she almost screamed, "stop firing! Stop firing now!"

At the same time she navigated towards the tram station, one of the many access points she thought she could get in through, or get people out. Bringing her ship to float over the tracks, bringing it in as low as she dared, she hailed the pilot over the comms once more. "Try to keep them from blowing up my ship!"

With that she flipped the ship's rudimentary autopilot on, letting it hover in place, and ran towards the rear ramp, which was opening as she reached it. Spotting the tram below her, along with two survivors, she put two fingers into her mouth and let out a loud whistle.

"Oi," she called out to the duo, "get in!"

Livi gritted her teeth as her uniform was smeared with vomit. For now, she resisted the urge to punch Galek. She looked over as Lon began firing sporadically towards the stairs and potentially harming other civilians. She shoved Galek back for a moment and ran directly towards Lon. Shoulder first, she would truck him and slam him to the ground to subdue him while the blaster was yanked from his hand. Yeesh, she still wasn’t used to Force use. Livi would pin him until another ISC soldier would come to subdue him and keep him from harming anyone else. He would have binds put on his hands as he was ushered away by the soldiers.

Livi looked over as she heard the Sith scream about emergency exits and a shuttle. While she didn’t see any shuttles just yet, she noticed the exits, “THIS WAY!” She shouted as she leveled her blaster and fired two bolts at Governor Omah’s chest after she clearly saw him attacking a Senator. The other ISC soldiers would engage any Joiners that acted suspiciously and double team them with the Imperials that also attempted to bring them down.

Livi positioned herself near the emergency exit, motioning for anyone that didn’t run down the stairs to file past her and towards the exit. She could hear explosions all around, a side glance suggesting that the Sith were in the thick of combat down the stairs and for some reason a wall was being attacked.

Livi tackles and pints Lon and he's put in binds and dragged by other ISC soldiers. Livi shoots at Omah's chest twice. ISC soldiers join Imperial soldiers in engaging any suspicious Joined. Livi is motioning for Governors and Senators to leave through emergency exit North of map.

Soleil internally cringed as two shots burned through Amira's arm, not quite getting her garbled-sounding telepathic message. He decided he'd owe her something when - if- they got out of this alive. 'Ami- Your arm-!' he began before it abruptly cut off, shaking his head as if to clear it. Just then he abruptly noticed how loud everything was, right after the Killik's attention was drawn to him, like some kind of ambient, psychic static.

It wasn't the literal sound- he had special sound-filtering earplugs that helped him focus- but the Force all around him was filled with an inane chittering. The insectile sounds bounced between everything in an endless echo and, frankly, it was quickly setting the impression-sensitive Sith on edge. Sol really wanted it to stop.

With grit teeth, his electric attack cut off from frying the two smoking insectoids. He pivoted to face the incoming Killik, the halted energy crackling furiously between his fingers as it gathered. In a sudden burst of vicious energy, he swung his lightsaber diagonally right-to-left while stepping right, intending to lock the Killik's swing in place. His right hand opened, unleashing the momentarily gathered power to deliver a bolt of lightning straight into the Killik's face at point blank and send it flying back toward its two friends.

Sol was glad Altair and the others had focused down the big one, plus a shuttle summons buzzed in his helmet comm along with a command message about limited time. Now the two Champions and the Tiefling's soldiers had to clear out the rest while the others were gathering nasty injuries. They needed to quickly break this flank and get the fuck out. He couldn't do medical shit while they were surrounded by hostile insects.

Soleil stops zapping the two original Killiks, hard-blocks the staff swing. He blasts lightning at the attacking Killik's face to fry it and send it flying back at the two semi-fried ones. He's also agitated about all the psychic background noise from the Killiks. Receives Tiamat's message to hurry up.

As the call sounded out across the com-lines that the Hutts were recalling a lot of their fighters and bunkering down, the other fleet operators in the area would know of it. The ISC fleet in particular heard the call across some of the less secure com-lines and might have found some of their old hatreds for the Hutts sparking up again were they not otherwise preoccupied. However, the FWA and Sith fleets would be very conscious of the fact that the Hutt forces were buying themselves time by attempting to hide their ships behind the hulls of the FWA and Sith's own fleets.

As Hutt ships piled back from their sorties, the ISC was frantically trying to reach the Heart of the Rim as more and more of the ship began to stop responding. Another withering battery of fire from the battlecruiser-like-asteroid-ships, spread out and the com-lines in the system cried out as the CR-90, Nova, cracked down the center and the Royal Fury was forced to flee to Sith lines for cover.

Lines that would be retracting into more defensive positions even as the line ISC vessel tried desperately to reach 'friendlies'. Sith attacks lanced out through the void and the Ruusan Star Destroyer began to twist into two different directions under the sheer firepower before, without a sound, the ship was shorn almost neatly in half. Explosions ran along the split of the ship as munitions and fuel stores were violently torn asunder and they roared their disapproval into space.

Heavy fire from the asteroids would damage some of the Sith and Hutt ships - one thing that all commanders in space would notice was that the 'asteroids' were moving at roughly the same speed as their larger ships. Indeed, it seemed that they were equipped with both engines and weapons comparable to the largest of battlecruisers. Even though they didn't have shields, the rocks surrounding the superstructure acted as a form of super-heavy armour that took incredibly punishment from weaponry not really designed to combat rock.

The Sith Corvettes and Fighters carved a bloody path through the patterns of the shards as they swarmed like angry insects, using tactics to keep their predictable enemy from getting to bring all of their weapons against them. It was only as the corvettes were arraying themselves in such a manner as to present almost all of their weapons in a single direction that the difference between starfighters and dartships was made clear - for even though the corvettes carved through dozens of dartships each, the shards did something that starfighters did not; they didn't fly around the smaller Sith capital ships, they rammed into them at full speed, explosive warhead tips bursting into violent life as a trio of Sith corvettes were destroyed before their crews began to more actively keep their distance, limiting how much they could cull the shard ships but also keeping them from their explosive tips.

Within the escort, Starfighters on both sides warred with corvettes, gunboats and other smaller craft as the battle only grew bloodier. One of the Ruusan corvettes, shields and engines gone, began its flaming descent toward the landing pad with the assistance of gravity.

Throughout the sector, navigation specialists would all report the same thing.

"Captain! Interdictor field is still active - I don't think it was the asteroid ships at all!"

--Tram Station--

The maintenance vehicle that Trini and Dusty had managed to find after slipping by the fighting based on the stairway they'd neatly ran straight past, was not beyond operation. Indeed, the truck had been used by some of the maintenance team just before the arrival of the dignitaries from the major factions of the Galaxy. If Trini gave the wheel to Dusty or not was, largely, not a truly relevant question.

At this point the tram line ahead of them, out of the tram station itself, was perfectly fine but they would both be able to see the black smoke rising further along the track. As a repulsor craft, the truck would be able to travel along the relatively safe length of the tram line - but that destroyed section of tram was going to be a sticking point. Without true flight capabilities, the truck wasn't going to be able to truly survive a fall from the tram line to the ground floor below without sustaining significant damage.

What might help to make up their minds, however, was the approaching mass of the smaller Killiks that liked to swarm - and they were massing at the back-end of the tram station, perking up and starting to skitter on over to the Professor and the Politician as they argued over who would drive.

Ahead of them, Sylphrena's ship coasted in to rest just above the tram line - the sound of her engines causing the Killiks to screech in rage and begin to charge after them, essentially chasing them toward either the ramp or, if they mis-jumped, oblivion below them.

--Landing Pad (Thus The Motley Crew Fought There)--
Upon the landing zone, things seemed to be progressing from "Bad" to "Beyond Repair".

The Hutt Yacht that had dumped the Rancor out onto the landing pad before deciding to leave without providing support, seemingly had decided that it wanted to provide some form of support now. Opening fire on the crashing corvette, the weapons of the yacht were powerful enough to tear chunks out of the unshielded hull of the corvette but it was not a ship designed for blasting capital ships to dust. It was a pleasure ship also designed to be intimidating - and it was intimidating to those below as the chunks of corvette blown off rained down onto the Sith, Hutt, FWA and ISC troops as they tried to rush off of the landing pad.

In the end, the yacht's fire was not enough to either fully destroy the corvette or fully shift it off course and the flaming mass of metal slammed into the edge of the landing pad.

Almost immediately, dozens of the newly landed troops died in flames and dropship pilots too slow to take-off became part of the explosion as all but a couple of the dropships were destroyed after their landing. The landing pad itself began to shift, the excessive weight and force behind the crashing corvette causing the entire structure to begin losing some integrity.

"So the way I see it... we either stay on the Landing Pad that's starting to fall to the ground... or we step into that."

The New Republic soldier and his Motley Crew, currently gasping for breath from the dead sprint they'd broken into to survive the crash and subsequent fireball, looked where he was pointing.

To where the Tanker Killik's flame attack had burst the eyeballs of the Rancor cleanly out of their skull, the Rancor's lacklustre attempt to swat the flames away resulting in a very sub-standard defence indeed. This had the knock-on effect of the follow-up swipe at the side of the Tanker Killik being too slow, giving the Tanker chance to tilt to the side slightly so the Rancor's fist skidded across the hardened chitin.

Leaving the Rancor open for the points of the Tanker's horn to ram into the gut of the Rancor, tearing through its muscles and sending it staggering backward from the impact and the pain. As the Rancor stumbled, the Tanker once again took aim and the spray of its flame weapon surged forward, toward the Rancor's now injured stomach area.

"Get in the ship." The Impette demanded of the rest of the Motley Crew as she stood beside the last shuttle still on the Landing Pad, "Champion Din calls for a ride."

Wisely, the Motley Crew of different nationalities piled into the shuttle and it began to take off as the landing pad began to collapse. The shuttle would cruise through the atmosphere at speed, the Sith soldier flying like a woman possessed, as they would quickly approach the Dome. Drifting to a stop, the ramp opened near one of the windows of the Dome, with the Brunette, Com-Buoy and the Mouth all calling out from the rampway for their associated senators.

This is not news to anyone - do NOT autohit against a DM controlled enemy, especially after being autohit yourself after no-showing a round of posting. The Rancor's post has been, effectively, ignored and it has taken the damage as though it was autohit for a second time.

--Semi-Pro Slugs Sledding Southbound on Stairwell of Slight Slaughter--

The ISC specialists were all men and women who had taken extra training in hostage extracton - but even they were slightly overwhelmed by everything. Livi's presence, her sheer force of personality, had them turning to her example with their every move. In a Galaxy where giant bugs were suddenly the enemy, it meant a lot to them that they had someone to follow who was known as one of the toughest specialists in the entire Consortium. What they were not expecting, however, was Lon Tendree to grab one of their weapons and start blasting.

No one expects the Neimoidian to pull up like this one was.

Blaster bolts were put down range but none of them were aimed - and because of that none of them landed anywhere near the targeted Killiks. By an absolute fluke, none of them did much more than lightly singe some of the paint along the wall and no one was going to cry over the anguish of the interior designers of Ruusan. Thankfully for all involved, luck was not required for too long as Celeste was able to Pull the gun from his hands with the Force - and the ISC specialists' faith in Livi was confirmed when she wasted no time in tackling the spindly Neimoidian to the ground and locking his wrists.

This handling of the blaster served as something of a distraction, however, as it allowed a Joined Trandoshan the chance to reach out and make a move to gut her. Her quick backward leap would mean rather than being gutted, she would receive only a trio of jagged red lines as its claws barely broke the skin. With the single-mindedness of a drone insect, the Trandoshan charge forward and immediately ate the Force Push to his upper torso, sending him careening backward into one of the doors, where his body collided with some force. As she was dealing with her attacker with the Force, Arcturus was doing likewise - as the Dug was attacking relatively quickly, however, the unflappable Sith politician would only swat the Joined creature away when it was much closer.

Hence why he would be explaining the black eye he received from the dug's flailing limbs kicking home, right at the brow of his left eye before the creature was thrown to the ceiling.

In the same area, Aezzairrfhowrrhudrrl was equally in an unpleasant situation to begin with - and one with a smell that would linger. Perhaps it was the disgusting smell that caused him to immediately suspect the pacifist of violence but it was not enough of a sign for him to react in time. His movement to stop the Chalactan senator would come too late, leaving the man to twist his knife into the Jedi Grandmaster. The blade tore through the woman's flesh but she was able to twist with it, avoiding the blade cutting through her lung as it tore itself free on its arc out of her body. Before the Chalactan could gather himself for a second attack, the Grandmaster was able to give him her full attention - there was nothing for Aezzairrfhowrrhudrrl to grab onto as Alexandria sent the Chalactan flying like a ragdoll away from herself. He would clatter to the ground awkwardly against the stairs before rolling down some - clearly with some broken bones but not deceased.

Also near the top of the stairs, Amira would find it very hard to concentrate on the reunions and her telepathic message would be a garbled mess as the two blaster bolts slammed into her right arm. The main reason blasters were so named was that their bolts blasted with force and heat as well - meaning her arm was not so much burned as it was burned and mangled with a chunk the size of her fist suddenly missing just above her elbow. Were she wearing her armour, this might have been somewhat mitigated - but a pantsuit does not carry the same level of protection and she would be thrown to the ground by the force and pain, able to grasp the lightsaber in her uninjured left hand but not in a position to advance at all.

Thankfully for Amira, Livi was in a position to aid the Sith diplomat - though likely not for that specific purpose. As Governor Omah was aiming to shoot the downed Sith diplomat, he was caught unaware by a duo of blaster bolts. Lacking any kind of cry of pain, Governor Omah spun as he was flung back by the blaster bolts as they carved open his chest. Around the doorway to the Dome, the Imperial soldiers and the ISC specialists charged forward, gunning down the senators who reached out with vibroknives to try and gut them.

Fortunately, they were not trained and even if their minds were now capable of such violence, their bodies were not built for it - it was their bodies that let the Kind down, allowing the trained soldiers to get the upper hand and clear pathways to the emergency exits and to the shuttle now hovering outside one of the large windows. With the further assistance of the Jedi Grandmaster, the Joined politicians were caught off guard, flat-footed and sent sprawling at the best - at worst the Sith soldiers but them down with a double-tap.

Aboard the back of the Tainted Killik, the creature suffering supremely under the multitude of attacks, Altair didn't let go. His continued attack caused the Tainted Killik to buck and writhe in an attempt to escape but it was short lived - one of the nerve bundles that Altair tore out first was the one responsible for limb movement. This severely limited its ability to react in any way even as the Sith shredded its nervous system, resulting in its painful death.

As Sol turned to face the attack made by the staff-using Killik, angered and distracted by both the nature of the hive-mind and his mental communication with Amira, the Killik swung the staff with its upper two arms, pushing his blade up. As it did so, it pivoted to the point that the lightning roared past its face as both of its lower arms thrust forward with its claws in an effort to impale the Sith through the stomach.

Further down the stairs, Ryssa's frantic attempt to dodge was partially successful - the bladed staff cut through her clothes and left her with a cut along her side but she was no impaled. Before the Killik could really correct its mistake, however, it was assaulted by some of the Sith soldiers brought along by Altair and it turned to face them - allowing Altair's heat-based attack to go entirely unnoticed by the creature until its nerves were no longer responding due to the intense heat.

The Hutt who would sled his way out of danger, Nor'baal, reached out to grab a weapon from a guard before swinging it at the guard. Unfortunately for the Hutt, the guard was rather alert even if he lacked the physical strength to out-muscle a Hutt. Rather than be decapitated, the guard merely ran away, leaving the Hutt to badly sprain his right arm enough that he was forced to drop the weapon he had snatched up. He would be uncontested in his advance down the stairs by the Killiks, though this was not to say it was not fraught with peril.

Indeed, as every member of the group was attempting to make good on their escape, as their individual battles were beginning to turn the tide, the wall began to explode inward in chunks. Despite the warnings from other Force Users, Null opened fire on the already-weakened structure with his ship's on-board weaponry. Chunks of masonry would fly at senators, Jedi, Sith and Hutts alike as an entire section of the wall was demolished in short order. The blast would cover the area rather close to the Force Users that Null had been sensing - as the Force was not inclined to be entirely specific, the blast radius would, ironically, include the one person he most wanted to save from harm, as the beacon on which he based his aim.

A battle to save hostages, which had been beginning to go well, was suddenly in danger of resulting in total failure as the Jedi blasted carelessly. Luck and split second reactions would be all that stood between some of these people and death at the hands of a would-be rescuer.

Again, a reminder about autohits in this area as well. Please make sure you remember that you are making attempts - not statements of fact.

Trini, perched awkwardly in the control seat of the speeder truck, watched as the other members of their little group - Forteear, Dusty, the injured Trandoshan and a few others who had stuck with them from the stairs - clambered into the seats and cargo bed of the vehicle. She reached down with her foot to press the accelerator, but the truck only crawled forward; from her position, and with her stature, she could only slightly depress the pedal. As the Glymphid came up next to her, she threw up her hands in exasperation and slipped out of the seat.

"All yours!" She called as she clambered to the back of the truck, pistol in hand. "These controls are set up for someone taller than me anyway! Just make sure you don't run us off the-"

"Mistress Trini! Behind us!"

Trini heard Forteear's warning call, and looked out into the station. From around the damaged tram cars, she could see shapes moving; along with them, bobbing points of light. With a shudder, she realized it was eye-shine, the red reflections off dozens, maybe hundreds of segmented, chitinous lenses.

"Oh kriff, oh kriff! HEY! DRIVE!!"

As the truck presumably lurched into motion at Dusty's command, Trini brought up her found blaster and began firing. Green bolts flew back into the chittering mass, illuminating nightmare insectoid forms swarming from the back of the tram station...

The evasion of the Trandoshan's claws didn't fully go as planned. She was scratched on her torso, but the claws did not managed to dig in deep at least. Her skin burned, the scratch marks stinging and letting her send out an angry hiss, but at least the Joined senator was dealt with for now.

This was bad. Completely getting out of hand and in the midst of this battle she suddenly sensed a presence that utterly confused her. Could that be? Or was the adrenaline making her hallucinating now? In the middle of this complete madness she was suddenly sensing a presence she hadn't felt for months.

Null?

No way. Not after he had left. How could he have possibly be the one coming after her after he had left without a word. Their special friendship had come to an abrupt end when he had left just like that. She had been worried about her friend, especially because he had been far from fully recovered, and yet he had somehow managed to pull up here.

Had he seen a broadcast? Apparently. What about her love, @Lukas Aurelius? What about her dear Queen, @Katherine Stargazer? What about her entrusted friend, @Zactar Hakka? Were they all witnessing what the hell was happening? If @Null had someone managed to find her, and with people like @Altair Din piling in, it seemed like everyone in the galaxy had been alarmed. It seemed like all the people that were important to her could immediately get involved in that carnage and it frightened her that two were already here. Who else would get involved? How many more lives were at stake? While she had been composed before, panic was now starting to set in.

She was left with so many questions, but she had no time to catch her breath or think about any of them as the walls had began to rumble right next to her. Debris and huge pieces of masonry came flying her way while it seemed like the wall was about to explode and as she was standing so close to it, there was no way for her to escape it.

It was not just her who got unvoluntarily involved in the explosion, or rather implosion of the wall, but to her left and right other diplomats would get hit too. She saw it coming. While there were smaller crumbling pieces at first, larger parts came crushing down and in the very last moment she sent a widespread Force Push wave towards the diplomats within close proximity, trying to somehow shove them out of the way to potentially save them before the larger pieces started to pour down on her.

It was just a split second and she was not entirely sure whether she was able to gather enough concentration with all that had been going on and she couldn't even see the effects of her attempt to save some of the others as she was immediately covered by everything that came crushing down.

(@Xyla Teresi, @Galek Ordalos, @Livi Cross, @Lon Tendree, @Ryssa Kalayli, @Aezzairrfhowrrhudrrl, @Victoria, ISC Soliders)

And with that her vision faded. She was immediately hit my immense pain as the pieces hit her and pushed her down, burying her beneath a layer of masonry. Her painful sounds were swallowed by the explosion and the screams of the diplomats that were either fleeing, dealing with Killiks or Joined or now being hit by the flying rubble.

What she was somehow still managing to do was trying to coil the Force around her abdominal area, her arms and knees being pulled close as she was hitting the ground knees first. She was covering her lower torso, hoping to protect at least another innocent life as she was going down, not even sure whether she would make it out of here.

Now she was afraid. Terribly afraid. Not just because it seemed like this mind controlling hive chaos was pure madness, but because she would not know what would happen to everyone else, including herself. So many fates were left unknown with literally the galaxy being at stake if those Killiks would try to take over...

Celeste sends a Force Push Wave to shove the others that might get effected by the explosion out of the way. She then gets hit by chunks of masonry, leaving her buried for the moment

"Cease f-!" Realizing the wall would take less firepower to topple than he had originally overestimated, Null had quickly decided to terminate the order he'd given to the ship's AI, when he was suddenly blindsided by a familiar yet forgotten voice. The blurry visage of a featureless woman snapped into his mind, an echo of a memory failing to break through the fog keeping him from his past. 'Who... is--' But the telepathic response would be cut short. (@Alexandria Voran )

Another voice rang through his ears, this time over his ship's comms, immediately snapping him out of the momentary lapse.

"Cease fire!!" The young man shouted and yanked the controls back to center, ending both the ship's spin and barrage of lasers. Without waiting for the ship to finish levelling out, Null was already getting out of his seat, momentarily slapping his hand on the comms to return a message to the previous pilot. "I'm sorry, I'm already helping someone..." Or so he had hoped. (@Sylphrena)

He didn't wait for a response, briskly moving through the ship towards the cargo bay. "S3, take over flight controls. Lower the ramp and bring the bottom of it as close as you can to the bottom of the hole we just blew in that wall -- without hitting anything. We've already done enough damage." Null tried to keep his voice calm, but he couldn't hide the uneasy shake in his tone. Not only had his risky rescue into the building potentially wounded people he hadn't been taking into account, but he also had chosen to deny someone help who might've need it.

Taking the briefest of moments to catch his anxious breath, Null could feel his determination flicker like a waning candle as the ramp began to lower before him. He wasn't sure he'd made any of the right choices, but he was in a hurry to get Celeste out of danger. And then suddenly the reality of what he'd done hit him when the ramp opened enough to reveal the fallout of his actions. "No..." His heart sank at the sight of those who were impacted by the crumbling wall, and then his gaze fell upon the one person he was actually here to save.

"Celeste!" The young man called out from the edge of the ramp, the lower half of his long black coat billowing as he gradually closed in on the shattered hole he'd made. Without hesitation Null's left hand shot forward, his fingertips reaching out as he focused his concentration on the ebb and flow between the two of them. He would, if nothing else interfered, begin cautiously trying to pull Celeste through the air toward him, hoping that anyone else below would be able to help if they would be able to forgive him and realize that he was there to rescue, not to hurt them. "Pardon the entrance, but you're all welcome on board!" (@Celeste Stythani)

The ship ceases firing and spinning, then closes the distance between it and the hole to bring the bottom of the lowering cargo ramp to the bottom of the hole, where Null is standing and attempting to Force Pull Celeste to him.

Well this was just entirely uncalled for. Lon was helping combat the bugs, firing at them as quickly as he could and then the blaster was yanked from his hand and one of the ISC rangers tackled him to the ground.

HELP SHE MUST BE AN "US"!! he screamed, hoping someone would save him from this vicious attack that had no possible explanation than that she was secretly mind controlled as well.

He was pinned and shackled within moments, being led out of the building and kicking against it every step of the way. Then the entire wall detonated. Lon was sent flying backwards away from the detonation, far too close to avoid being slammed by debris and bodily flung across the room.

He was coughing and choking on the debris filling the room. His eyes watered profusely as they rejected the dust that tugged at the edges of his vision. With his hands bound behind his back, he struggled to push himself to his feet. He twisted his old and now-battered body so that he could get his right leg under him, but it couldn't seem to find the ground as he moved it.

He twisted more and finally made contact with the ground only for an absolutely excruciating pain to shoot up his entire right leg. He cried out in pain and finally looked down. His mouth hung limp in shock and he nearly passed out at the sight. The reason he'd failed to find the ground when moving his leg earlier was that everything from his lower thigh down was nothing but a mangled hunk of blood-soaked tissue. Muscle and skin hung around a protruding femur and a growing pool of blood soaked into the carpeting, oozing out in a pool to mix with those who had been killed by the Hutt.

H... he... help... he managed to choke out through the dust before choking and coughing.

Help me... he managed slightly louder before finally finding his voice. Someone please help! he cried out, his entire body and soul still numb with shock and he tried desperately to wiggle himself forward with restricted arms and one leg.

Lon's leg was blown off and he's handcuffed on the floor trying to get help and scoot away.

As Ryssa neared the other ISC members, a huge wave of relief washed over her. Despite the somewhat odd scene of an ISC trooper tackling Lon in front of her, she was glad to see that there weren’t random blaster bolts flying around the place and that the shoe she still clutched tightly in her hand wasn’t the only protection she had anymore. At this point the adrenaline was starting to fade, and tiredness was beginning to creep in. However, she was determined to make it out of here alive, and that kept her moving closer towards Galek, Lon, and the ISC fighters. She didn’t care where they were going, as long as she had someone to stick with.

Unfortunately, even with the perceived safety of being in the group, this nightmare wasn’t over yet.

The wall suddenly cracked and exploded inwards, pieces of it flying into the crowd. Ryssa ducked, just as she had before with the blaster bolts, and dropped to the ground as a massive piece of debris flew over her head. That struck a little too close to home, and she immediately decided that staying near the site of the explosion wasn’t going to do her any good.

Dignity the last thing on her mind now, she kept herself as close to the ground as she possibly could as she crawled behind the piece of wall that had landed a short distance behind her. Curling up behind it and squeezing her eyes shut like a child scared of the dark, she hoped that it would protect her from anything else being thrown her way.

Crawling behind a piece of debris and curling up to avoid the explosion

Rrodossk stumbled inside of the crashed hulk, his clawed hand slowly guiding him through the cargo hold. The Vornskr trailed behind him closely as they sensed he was upset. Upset was not exactly how he would put it; all he could see was red. Those damned bugs killed many of his prized pets, and they were going to pay. He slung over his chest a blast vest from one of the fallen soldiers he had hired, grabbing some of their kit. He was armed to the teeth: his pistols strapped to his hips, scatter blaster strapped to his back, a simple axe on his belt, and a Javelin light repeater in his clawed hands.

As he exited the ship, those dropships who had survived landed and released their forces. Mercenaries from an innumerable amount of species were bellowed forth to make the trip worth it. Those craft that landed then returned to the skies, the rest of the surviving ships breaking off for various targets. The ground infantry moved forward, not within range of the crashed corvette that slammed into the landing pad but still close enough to make it on foot. With a warcry, Rrodossk let the charge as blasters were already being fired at the Kilik menace.

The fighter craft did their job, fighting off any enemy aircraft in sight. They returned to the skies, all avalible craft firing their missiles and cannons into the defenders. The assault ships and Blastboats did the same, their weapons primed and ready for a last stand. The Warpigs flew overhead in weird patterns, trying to avoid shots from the ships above. The infantry was ready for a fierce assault. Whatever this was going to be, they were going to fight to the last man. Several of the now empty landing craft decided to fly towards the diplomatic center to rescue anyone they could.

Meanwhile, up in orbit, the FWA fleet was not doing well. Many of their ships had fallen, yet they still held strong. The Bulk Cruisers aimed their bows at the Interdictor, firing the turbasers towards the ship. The escort freighters moved towards the enemy craft firing upon those who went surface side, assisting with their allies in trying to take them down. The Frigates and fighters remaining remaining the fleet turned to deal with the incoming darts and asteroids, trying to make make burn in a blazing ball of plasma.

Picket's Charge Sith the maddess lizard ever
Oh and some of the fighters, gunships, blastboats and escort Freighters are fighting off the fleet attacking ground bound targets, the Bulk Cruisers firing at the Interdictor, and everything else is dealing with the Asteroids and shards

Considering that the Trandoshan guardsman had already perished, Trini might not have been correct in her assertion that he had followed along. However, Dusty and Kyle were still very much alive - the latter was currently looking like he very much regretted taking this yacht captain job and the former was having a hell of a time. For a Glymphid who loved nothing more than being behind the wheel of a vehicle and a good thrill, this was the most fun that Dusty could be having. He gunned the truck forward as fast and as vertically as his skills would allow him to before he leaped up towards Sylphrena's outstretched hands.

"Thanks for the lift lady! I don't know who the hell you are or what the hell is going on but if you drop me off at the spaceport, I can at least add a few more guns to the mix!"
Dusty got out quickly, trying to get the necessary details across.

"Also you got yourself a gunner booth in the meantime?"
